I don't know the lyrics very well and those few lines said it all. Our minds aren't perfect, very far from it. They don't always work right, often go wrong, and can work against us. When you're scared of something, you think you see it everywhete. Like at beaches where dogs are allowed, I keep thinking I see them in thecorner of my eye and whip round in terror. XD When you want to believe something real bad, your mind finds lots of evidence to support that belief and just ignores evidence against it because you don't want to see it. Like in Once Upon a Time, when Mr Gold thought August was his son. August knows what I'm on about, see - he said "You had to want it so badly you'd do anything to get it," because when you want something that bad, you become blind and August needed Mr Gold to be blind and overlook things. He did overlook things. August pointed out, "Do I even LOOK like him?"

It could always be worse. Kiki came by for a visit, though, so I'm a bit perkier today than I have been lately. Kiki is the neighborhood friendly cat. There's also Agent Cat, who is very very shy at first, but really really likes my sister and acknowledges that I am not evil, Althea, who is shy, likes my sis but not me, and Ginger, who is a noisy kitty and will 'mrup' at anybody who will listen and circle them, sounding like he's explaining something.

Jessica is an indoor kitty, one of the few who likes me better than my sister. She's not a friendly kitty in general, but she's tolerated me ever since I fed her and her brother while their people-family was on vacation. Jed, her brother, likes to climb through a hole in the window and sit on the roof. He's getting less active in his old-ish age, but can still catch small birds with the best of them.
There are lots of cats in the neighborhood. None of them are technically mine, but our yard has good rodents and my sis is very much a car person, so they stop by a lot.

Since Aretha isn't here, I've looked up a quote from the musical Cats (one of her favorites) about cats' names. And they do have three, though it's not quite the same as with humans.
