Actually hold on, we'll get to that in a moment. I have another 15 minutes before I have to post this entry, at 9 PM, and I'm going to use that 15 minutes, dammit. Because I did things today! Things that deserve to be blogged about!
Well, I did ONE thing that deserves to be blogged about. This afternoon I interviewed Steven Moffat, head of all things Doctor Who and Sherlock, on stage at Trinity College, Dublin. I'm pretty sure it wasn't recorded, though, so you're just going to have to take my word for how brilliantly it went. I've never interviewed anyone before— I'm used to being the one interviewed— so it was very interesting to sit in the other chair for a change.
Mr Moffat turned out to be everything I'd hoped he would be— he's a nice guy and he's FUNNY. It was such an informal, casual conversation that it made asking him questions a breeze. I love the shows he makes, as did everyone there, and it was so cool to be able to talk to him about them and not feel like a total nerd.
And for those of you who are wondering, yes, I DID ask him for Karen Gillan's phone number. NO, he did not give it to me. But I think I broke him down sufficiently that all it'll take is one more chance encounter, and then wa-heyyyyy!
Ahem.
Okay, I now have seven minutes until I have to post this entry.
Oh, I'll be doing two publicity events in Ireland on March the 7th. At 10:30 AM in the Riverbank Theatre in Kildare I'll be interviewing (because I do it SO well) Alex Barclay on stage about her new book Curse of Kings.
Later that day, back in Easons in O'Connell Street at 6 PM, Alex and I will be doing... er... some sort of event. We haven't a clue WHAT we'll be doing, to be honest, but it'll be brilliant, and it'll be funny. I swear. Probably.
At both events, we'll be signing whatever you want signed.
Two minutes!
Okay then, here we go. This title has been in my head for years. EVERYTHING in the series has been leading up to Books Eight and Nine, and this is really where it all starts to build to the (hopefully epic) conclusion.

The play was called 'The Foreigner'
It's about this guy who pretends he doesn't speak English, so the other guests at the boarding house say stuff in front of him that they wouldn't usually tell anyone. It's a comedy.

We're taking my dad to see Anna Karinina because he read the book and it won an oscar for costume.
Also aparently I'm the only one in my family interested in seeing Les Mis.

OKAY, SECONDLY.
In PE, they were doing exams or whatever, so we couldn't use the sports hall or the gym. So we sat in a classroom for the hour e were meant to be doing PE (yeah, it's sucky . . .) Anddddddddddd the first activity we did was make up a sports game.
Well, I was staring at my piece of paper like everybody else, going "I can't think of anything!" like everyone else, and then I grumpily thought "Hunter could do this in about five seconds."
Then I went, "Okay, if Hunter was inventing a game like this, what would he invent?"
AND THEN I THOUGHT FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THEN OMGG I THOUGHT OF A GAME! OMGG! I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT HAD ACTUALLY WORKED!!!
And everyone else was just sitting there staring into space after adapting football slightly, and I was just franticly scribbling down Hunter's complex game for the next fifteen minutes . . . :)
The people with me didn't see what was so awesome about it, but I told my other friend and she laughed about it. It's totally O_O. I'm starting to think there's something in Hunter's way of asking his imaginary friends when he can't remember or work out something. It actually like works. That's like OMGG.
AND THIRDLY -
My friend is going to do a sponsored silence for Red Nose Day AND IF SHE COMPLETES IT, SHE'LL HAVE OVER FIFTY POUNDS AND SHE'LL STILL COLLECTING SPONSORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fourthly:
Friend 1 is positive there'll be a zombie apocalypse at some point. Friend 2 is positive there isn't going to be one. Friend 3 is in agreement with 2 and thinks 1's being ridiculous. I'm in agreement with 1 because like I said, someone'll probably genetically invent a zombie because they like zombie apocalypses . . .
It was just me, 1 and 3 in the lunch hall so me and 1 were forming a plan for when there was a zombie apocalypse. Okay, she'd already got a plan and was telling me instructions, but oh well . . .
So if there's a zombie apocalypse, I take my family and got and lock us in the school sports hall. If one of our other friends is already locked in there, the password to get in is 'bananas'. Then we wait for 1 to rescue us, as she has tons of weapons in her house coz she and her brother are really Doomsday-prepared. 1'll 'borrow' her dad's car. Then we all go to B&Q, because they have electrical devices like chainsaws and hoovers there we could use as weapins, plus other weapons. Also, they have food and clean toilets.
Then we eventually make our way to Cumbria, and play it by ear from there. *nods*

I'm kind of worried, because I've just moved up to the harder orchestra, and we're playing Bohemian Rhapsody and it's really difficult. It being really difficult isn't what worries me, what worries me is I came a week late and I don't happen to have a copy of it to practise with . . . *knows I can no way play it without practising at home*

Scales are annoying on any instrument, I do believe. Well, my sources inform me that scales are annoying on the cello, the piano, the cornet and the violin, plus I have never met anyone who LIKES playing scales, so yeah. :)

Art and English are so similar . . . Why other people fail to realise this astounds me. They're basically exactly the same thing, except one's with words and one's with pictures. O_O

THEY ARE NOW FOR ALL INTENTS AND PURPOSES IDENTICAL, EXCEPT FOR THE FACT YOU LOOK AT DIFFERENT FORMS OF SHOWING THINGS.
YOu analyse things exactly the same. When they ask us to look at pieces of artwork and analyse them I'm like "This is excatly like in English."
In English you look at words, work out the meaning of them, and look at why the maker of them has made them like that.
In Art you look at pictures/scuptuors/blah, work out the meaning of them, and look at why the maker of them has made them like that,

Also, songs are just like poems. I was circling all the strong beats in a rhymatic poem (we hadn't been asked to, I just was . .. ) today, and I found it really easy because when I was practising for my orals in my cello exam I was trying to work out how many beats in a bar every song I listened to had . . . Finding the beat in something is so easy, but I suppose it could be 'huh?' a bit if you're not used to it . . .
Poems and songs are like the same.
Art and English are like the same.
People have noted the similarities between art and music.
It's all the same; just different forms of expressing things. :)

Although ENglish is used just as much, actually. I was saying to my mum, people get listened to and liked on how good they are at communicating. The people who run our country run it because they're good at communicating. Think of Gone - people listened to Caine at the beginning why? Because he was skilled enough at ENglish into manipulating them into thinking he was awesome. He could communicate well. In Hunger the author notes he's 'working his old charm'. He could manipulate people into likin him, think he knew best. That is why Caine was always in cotrol, not Drake. The only reason.
Hitler. Hitler was in control why? Because he was good at making public speeches, at communicating. And that is why people listened.
If people know how to make themselves sound good, they get people listening.
This world is so unfair. It makes me feel sick, really it does.

It's in case anyone is wondering what camogie is:
It's basically the same as hurling but it's called hurling when boys play it and camogie when girls play it.
It's played with hurls(wooden sticks made out of ash) and a sliotar(a hard leather ball about the size of a tennis ball).
The object of the game is to score as many goals and points as you can. A point (hitting the ball so that it goes above the crossbar and between the posts is worth 1 point. A goal (hitting the ball so that it goes into the net) is worth 3 points.
It is an Irish sport. Part of the GAA. Gaelic Athletic Assosiation.
I guess that's why Amber was in control and so manipulative of me. She was always good with words.

I shan't lie, I'm aware of my natural talent with words. I tend to be able to convince people of whatever I wish, when I really want to.
If I put enough power into my words, everyone will listen.
I agree with what you have to say, Star. But, regarding this world being disgusting... I have to disagree, not everything, and not everyone, in this world is disgusting.
When it comes to politics, it's more to do with the people failing to realise the power they have. The power of the politician is nothing compared to the power of the people - the power of the people is how politicians gain their power. :)

God, so angry at humankind in general. I hate us all. They say we'll end up killing ourselves eventually? Good. It needs to happen sooner or later, prefrably sooner. We're sick, evil monsters. We make humans and other animals suffer terribly just because we want a bit more of a comfortable life. Other animals kill for survival. They kill to eat.
We do that as well. But then we don't stop. We kill because we want more comfort, more happiness. We forever want more, more, more. We can wear dirty old rags, but no, we kill because we want to look nice. We can survive on what we have, but we search for miles to find sharks, cut off their fins to make sharkfin soup, and then through them back into the ocean to slowly die of bloodloss. *heard about this in Science on Friday*. We don't need that sharks' fins to live. We can survive without them. But sharkfin soup tastes nicer, so we kill for it.
Hey, maybe other animals would do that. But they'd eat up the whole shark. We just throw it away, because we only want the best and can't be bothered with the rest. Ooh, unintended rhyme.

Humankind is corrupt, yes, but nobody is completely evil.
There is good within all of us, and that should be recognised. Yes, humans can get carried away, and yes some people are ruled by the evil within, however this does not mean that we are all bad people.
Sometimes the greatest enemy we can face is ourselves, because humankind bring evil as well as good.
Nobody is flawless, especially humankind. Even if humans were all to die, the next species to take control of the world would be flawed, also. Our deaths would probably bring no good. :)
We could always just become hermits with fedoras.

Oh, I'm terrible at speeches. Writing essays appears to be my strong point. Yay?
I've got my highest level this year in persuasive writing, but that was the latest assessment we did, so it makes sense for me to gradually be getting better on the whole. :P
I got my highest level in English so far in Year Eight for writing a story . . . But I'm still terrible at writing. That was in a class where some people wrote a paragraph or so in terrible handwriting with bad punctuation. Obviously my six pages I did in Microsoft Word, six twelve font, would look good compared to that.
