How are we all?
Are we all nervous? Terrified, even? Are we all dreading December 21st, the last day on Earth as predicted by the Mayans? Although, as Jon Stewart pointed out on The Daily Show, the Mayans haven't exactly got the best track record as far as predicting the end of civilisations go... to wit, the Mayans...
But I digress.
So how will you be spending the last day on Earth? Will you be surrounded by loved ones? Will you be sobbing into a tub of ice cream? Will you, in fact, forget all about the end of the world because you still haven't got your Christmas shopping done?
Or will you be reading a very special end-of-the-world short story as posted on this very Blog- a short story that will ONLY be available on the 21st and 22nd before being taken down- in which Skulduggery and Valkyrie track down the cause of the world's destruction and do their very best to avert it? A short story called "The Button"?
Hmm? Is THAT what you'll be doing?

Something really nice happened. I had a really horrible day, and we were about to do PE, which I don't like because of my asthma. But when I walked into the gym, my friends told me we were playing a Year 8 class. "Okay," I said, not really caring, "Who are we playing?"

You know when Niccolò went to hell, and I was saying that Ari didn't make Niccolò go to hell - you don't make good characters do anything, you just create them, put them in situations and watch what happens? And I said that Ari didn't make Niccolò do anything, she was being him, and he would have killed himself, so she, as Niccolò, killed him/herself? And that when I write stories, I spent most of my time trying to be as true to the characters as I can and being worried that I'm not making them them-like enough? And I said about my friend having to kill her character off, even though she didn't want to, and it took half the story out of her story, doing it, but he had to die because that's what he would have done? And that sometimes, there's no other option?

The point is . . . I can't make Hunter and Ez do this and that (*starts typing 'ter' on the end of Ez's name before remembering*). If I make one of them do something that they wouldn't do themselves . . . then they aren't them anymore. You get me? So I can't make one thing or another happen.
In In The Shadows . . . Mushroom said something (*Is struggling with remembering the exact words*) like that sometimes people found their perfect other half, their perfect soul mate, and that they just completed each other, and that the relationship between them didn't have to be romantic; the romance between her and Zach was just an added bonus. And I was just ecstatic at that little paragraph, because THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING ALL ALONG. When people are perfect soul mates, they don't NEED to be romantically involved as well. In my opinion, the strongest type of love is friendship-type love, not romantic love, but I always add that people who have romantic love can have the other type of love as well, just to clarify. In the supernatural teenage romance books, the ones that I'm not usually all that keen on, although occasionally you find some fantastic stuff there (like the Shiver Trilogy), the two main characters often fall in love in the first one, and then a few books later in the series, they often get to know each other better then ever before and decide things like no-more-secrets or blah and are much closer then, and that's when they discover friendship love as well, I think. :)

I just- idk. That doesn't ACTUALLY help them, really, y'know. Touring gets word around and brings money in for the band-members to live and create off of, and hiding two tickets somewhere in a city doesn't really do either of those things, y'know? Somebody probably will not search for the tickets unless they're already pro-MCS,because how else would they know to look, if that makes sense.
It's that little attention to people who it means that much to, y'know? It's kind of doing good for the sake of doing good.
Sorry I'm kinda ranting about it. They're touring I'm pretty sure only in the US atm so it's not like I'm getting anything physically concrete from it either, but it just... Yeah. :)
