Rook takes a moment to blink in surprise, then searches the room thoroughly, then adjacent rooms and the rest of the floor. He then proceeds to check that the attic door is secure (it is, meaning that no one could have entered). Ioux checks the door again himself while Rook goes to check downstairs. Liz isn't there, either. He finishes checking the closet under the stairs, and calls back to Ioux.
"I don't think she's here. You still have her teleportation amulet, right?"
Ioux descends the stairs, the attic door having passed his inspection. "Indeed I do. It is possible, however, that she acquired another."
"That would complicate things. Wouldn't Hailey have confiscated it, though?"
Ioux considered. "Ms. Mad and her associates are not known for being especially thorough. You being the exception."
"So my reputation proceeds me. I'm afraid it's mostly smoke and mirrors."
"So I can see. It would take extreme carelessness on your part to allow Ms. Herald to escape like this."
"Sorry, sir. I thought she was unconscious."
"From a less experienced ally, I might have believed that."
"Are you suggesting that I'm hiding her?"

I give up. My parents makeme do cards for my Teachers...fine. They evolope is the weirdest shaped thing in exsistance I get sick if i lick them to seal them so I tuck the fold in. Mind you I'm visually impaired and sometimes can't pick up on things fast like people who can see. So my dad figured it out and was showing me since it was demented. I try and i couldn't get it. Oh its a sin i cant pick up on things extremely fast oh how I'm a waste in life! Well sorry it took me a couple to fucking figure out the demented envolope when the god damn adults couldn't either. So sorry I'm not perfect. And they curse me? I'm not the miracle worker i didnt buy the cheap envolopes

I said I'm not able to see and they called me a jackass. Because I'm half blind. Because I may be a tad slow when watching hand movements because I can't process I mean I got it I just wasn't being helped I wss being cursed and called worthless. I mean way to downgrade. Then my concert is tomorrow which means more fighting I have yet to have a chorus concert where nobody fights in my house. Where either I'm the worthless peice of crap or I'm ugly. I have yet. Somehow they find a way to ruin my night. And the sad thing is I work from September til December on this and do I even get a smile? No. Others have parents say nice job. Mine? No. They rush home and in the car ignore I even did an entire concert.
I know how you feel. Having parents who expect too much of you is difficult and frustrating. but talking really does help. Just sit them down when they have a spare minute and talk to them. Don't raise your voice or argue. Listen to them, as well. And it might get sorted out.

And maybe, all this time . . . all the times I was trying to get my friend's hair grip out the drain or look for our folder in Music that mysteriously wnet missing or fix my memorystick . . . maybe, maybe I shouldn't have listened to everyone begging me to stop because they didn't care and I didn't need to do it, we'd be okay without it. Maybe I shouldn't just have persuaded myself to get on with my life. Maybe I could have DONE it.
Because, get this -
I DID it.
I got that damn music onto my phone.
And I spent five hours straight yesterday trying, and then was doing it as soon as I woke up, and then was fretting over it all today, and then I got home and started trying again, and -
I DID it.
And maybe, if you try hard enough . . . maybe you can do things.
Maybe if I get stuck on things, it's for a reason, and maybe I should stop telling myself to stop stressing over it, and maybe I should give into my compulsion and just do it.
Because I can. :)
But seriously, yesterday, I was thinking that when I grew up I would be like those mad men in films who spend their lives living in the woods trying to prove fairies exist, and everyone thinks they're mad, and their wives leave them, and they're just stuck in the forest all on their own because they're so obsessed with trying to prove this thing.
And that easily sounds like something I could end up doing. XD

Today at lunch, me and my friend were talking about how characters tend to go off and do things you don't want them to do and how irritating it is when you want them to go and do this and then suddenly they're off doing something else. :P
In her story, when they went off to get the book, they weren't meant to do that, they were meant to go and meet Luke, but then after that she had to make them carry on doing other things that followed on from getting the book, and then the thingymajingee happened to Jason, and then the thingymajingee happened to Millie, so they couldn't go anywhere, and then the book ended, and in the end they never went and met Luke, so she had to go back and write in them meeting Luke earlier, because apparently they had to meet Luke because he was awesome and only had one hand.
And I was just talking about how I'm happily roleplaying with you all and then Hunter just goes off and does something and it's really annoying because I want to still be contributing to the conversation but I can't coz he's gone off. XD

Number one - the songs are usually bad.

Number two, there's something magic about hymns and stuff, how nobody really knows where it comes from, but it's there all the same. Like . . . you can't listen to 'the correct version', because there is no correct version. They only exists thoruhg people singing them, generation after generation, and that's how it survives. :)
ANd I know I should apply this philosophy to Christmas songs.
But my ears disagree with my logic. :P
Plus . . . people make them for fame, MAKE them to be carried down through the ages.
Which makes it not quite the same.
And also, it is a song made my one music artist. It is 'a normal song'. And when there are tons of normal songs . . . then why should the most famous ones be famous merely because they're about Christmas? And it's just not fair to the tons of GOOD songs out there.
I know there are exceptions to all the stereotypes I have mentioned above, but still.

*tilts head* Christmas music can get pretty tedious, when played over & over & over through the month. But I think that at least it's something different yet also familiar, and however annoying it can get... people enjoy it, y'know? People start yelling and singing and for each of those minutes when the chorus comes in and everybody knows the words(ish :P) and for that moment those people are all together with that one common thing between otherwise such different characters. I think that's pretty great, in itself.

On a slightly less good note . . . their drummer left. :/ Bye-bye. I'm kind of sad to see him go, but I'm very relieved he's not dead, which sounds strange but the last time a member left Slipknot, it was because he died (RIP, Paul Gray), and Avenged Sevenfold's drummer died (RIP, The Rev), and . . . yeah.
I mean, I'm assuming this information is reliable and all, but still. :)
