The fact that I can't visit EVERYWHERE is always a shame, but we do try and spread the love as much as possible. This time around, my publishers took into account that I'd be in Australia/NZ for the previous two weeks, so I reckon they took pity on me. Maybe it was all the manly crying I did. We'll never know...
Eagle-eyed Irish readers may also have noticed that I shall be appearing on the "Celebrity Mastermind" quiz show, starting on TV3 this Sunday. I'm not sure what episode I'm on (I think it airs on July 1st but I'm not sure). For those who don't know, Mastermind is a show where you are asked questions about a chosen topic, and then you're asked general knowledge questions. I'm not going to say ANYTHING about what happened (we recorded it a few weeks ago) so you'll just have to watch to see how well I did. Or not, as the case may be. Ahem.

It was a stormy winter night in Dublin, Ireland when it struck Kate across the arm and left a horrible long, slim gash from her elbow to her wrist. She looked up; no sight of it ‘RUN’ said her body so she ran until she couldn’t anymore. She only had time to knock on a door before running to the bridge which led to the park. It was watching her; she knew that if she made a wrong move it would strike again. She was losing blood fast if she didn’t find somewhere to hide and take care of herself the worst may happen. Then it hit her and she fell back onto the cold wet grass of the park.
Jessie was enjoying a cup of tea and her favourite book by the fire when there was a knocking at the door. She was troubled by the disturbance because even though she was only seventeen she had 3 jobs in hope she would have enough money when it was time for university. It was her only night off and as troubled as she seemed nothing could prepare her for what she saw behind the door.
There was blood stained foot prints leading to the park over the bridge that sat nicely beside her neighbour’s fence. Being curious Jessie grabbed her torch and jumper from the kitchen and followed them into the darkness.
As her warm foot stepped onto the freezing cold grass she realised she didn’t bring shoes, a shiver went up her spin. Jessie had followed the bloody footsteps for about 3 minutes and already she was freezing but she was a persistent girl so she didn’t give up. As she walked she thought about the poor person that had left the footprints. According to Jessie they were girl footprints and by the size and shape she was no older than Jessie and could possibly be younger. There was a cold breeze so she turned to cover herself and tripped on an out of place tree root. She fell to the wet ground and fainted
She laid in what felt like warm honey. Jessie realised that it wasn’t honey and screamed at the sight. It was a puddle of warm blood. She quickly headed for the parks river. As soon as she got there she splashed down into the freezing cold water but Jessie didn’t think about the coldness and just focused on getting the fresh blood off her. She heard a noise of a bush rustling and turned. She first didn’t know what to make of the sight but suddenly make out a shape then she realised what she saw. It was a foot, about as big as hers but with a horrible scrap from what looked to be from gravel. She decided to build up the courage to go and see who the foot belonged to and then she closed her eyes and started walking in the direction to the bush.
She found a girl about her age behind the bush. She shrieked when she saw the girl’s long gash across her arm and the other horrible wounds. The girl moved mouthing a word just a singular word, which struck Jessie as gibberish but Jessie still shrunk down beside her and held her head up. Without another word the girl open her eyelids and mumble “vamp….vaaamm…..vampp……..Vampires.” When the word hit Jessie it was like a bomb shell. She first panicked and then felt a sharp plunge in her neck and dropped to the ground beside the mysterious girl and dozed off into the world of darkness.
