For all you readers in Dublin/Wicklow, I'm going to be appearing at the Dalkey Book Festival this Sunday at 12 PM...
And does anyone know what happened to the Skulduggery Forums? It seems to have been replaced by a... web-sitey... thing...
And because I have nothing further to add, here are two well-timed photos...

«Oldest ‹Older 4601 – 4800 of 4870 Newer› Newest»Strange how much things can change in a year...
I don't know, Chione. A second is actually a pretty long time in terms of short term events. So on a grand scale, I think how much changes in a year is almost surprisingly little.
I suppose if you put it that way...
Well. I preferred my room hoe it looked before. But as far as excuses for taking down mirrors goes, that was pretty cool. C:
Night!
(Hello.)
Liliana: Indeed. And perhaps Elizabeth.
Claire: Oh, yeah. I have a Hello Kitty t-shirt and a tartan skirt so people will think I'm all innocent before I slit their throat.
Lily: I don't know what clothes I like... My family colours are white, green and gold so I might like something in those colours... These are all so different to the clothes I'm used to... Less intricate, more... tiny.
Anyway, anyway.
*hums to herself*
I wonder if i should go to sleep yet. I'm a bit tired but i don't think i can be bothered getting changed into my pjs...too much effort.
*curls up*
Well there's some perfect timing for you, as the person I get into the most arguments with shows up, I leave.
Off to have leftovers, whoo...
(Goodbye, John.)
Have a nice dinner, John.
I realise i use elipsis way too much. I need to stop. Other friends have noticed and now that i've noticed it annoys me.
Sleep well Star! Have a nice meal Blake. Hey Soon. Good day?
You could sleep in your clothes until you wake up in the middle of night and want to change, Chi?
*gives Zaf a blanket and a kitty*
Well since one of the only people i talk to nowadays is gone i guess i will go to sleep the now.
Goodnight, Trip.
(I am rather fond of using dashes when I type, and I use the word somewhat rather often.)
...
Excuse my French.
*ghosting* hey people :D
I'm also not sure thar sur is the right preposition for "on the blog" but since you say "sur l'ordinateur," it kinda makes sense.
i don't do french m9 :D
(I presume, Trip, that "Soon" was either a typing error or an issue with your autocorrect. My day has been... rather irritating. I have not been able to access the internet for most of it. I am now researching vampires.)
I miss my room . . . :(
It was so pretty and I ruined it with posters . . . :(
Sorry. Should be going to sleep. Not really here.
star: XD sorry...take down the posters :)
Good night, Chione.
Haha! I get it! Excuse my French, and French. Well played, Fabsi, well played.
(Yup. I did mean to say Soph. I'm sorry to hear of your internet starvation, it's a really tragic thing.*
And, yeah, pretty sure it's 'sur.' :)
@Fera: Can't. NeEd an excuse to take my mirror down. My very pretty mirror. Dammit.
Well, it is the joy of blu TAC, Star. But yeah, all my posters are really carefully measured because I can't stand it when they're slightly too wonky or close to eachother.
star: oh well...do what you see right then :p ^_^ I've only got one poster in my room about an anime, and a framed picture of sunset ^_^
@Trip: Yeah . . . I just know that'll annoy me. With - whar-s the word again - um - PEDANTICNESS, I usually find it best to ignore it and puts things wonky as soon as I start feeling it. If you begin trying to arrange things for perfection, it'll only get worse and worse and never stop. *nods*
(Star - I did something similar when I was younger. My room in my parent's house was rather small, and as a child I had it just the way I wanted it. As I became a teenager, however, I started to put up posters of various things such as books and bands. One day I realised I hated what my room had become, and tore every single poster down. I will say that you may have it slightly worse, as rock/metal groups are rather notorious for painting their faces like clowns and other nightmare-inducing things.)
Nah, you just need a good geometry set, Star!
I currently fly have one Mocking Jay poster, one Sherlock poster, one period table poster, two Avenged Sevenfold word arts, three Slipknot word arts, one Shinedown word art, two Blogland word arts, and a rainbow tree.
:P
I'm rather sad that thay's all the artwork of mine I have to put up. I've given most of it away. Over the summer I hope to draw lots of portraits . . . hopefully I won't end up drawing too many Supernatural characters for my friend.d's and will actually get to keep a few. :)
(No clue who to draw though. I'll probably have to start mentally stockpiling aesthetically pleasing people in my head in preparation. :P)
:-P
Hi.
Really Star? Good. I hope so. I would hate to be horribly wrong.
@Sophia: :P Yeah. XD
You know, I was looking at Fall Out Boy albums recently, and - why do artists not have pretty album covers? Why don't they get album covers that make me feel happy looking g at them? I don't understand this.
clouds: who are you btw, have we met before? ^_^
star: easy...CRAWLING IN MY SKIN :P XD
@Fabi: :) Don't worry. You're too clever to be greatly wrong. :P
Hmm. I need to get up in seven hours and have an English exam at nine . . .
MEH
Yeah, I'm that Fabi/Moss person who keeps changing her display name. Hi.
Because they're Avenged Sevenfold? XD They aren't exactly the most lovey dovey band you'll come across.
ahh ok ^_^ hey moss :D
(nothing wrong with avenged trip :P they're good)
Awwwwhhhh Elleni are you here to be my Jai? :) That's sweet on so many levels.
@Trip: Avenged Sevenfold have cool death bats. Thay's acceptable. :P
I realised that I don't draw portraits of people for myself because I'm afraid that if I draw them people will think I like them.
Hmmm
I think I should draw a bunch of portraits of different people and stick them all up at once to combat this.
*nods*
(I believe different music satisfies different emotions, Star. So album covers are meant to represent the emotion that they satisfy. Having an image of a bird with rainbows and angels and unicorns on the cover of a heavy metal album - music which generally provokes and satisfies mainly negative emotions, such as violence, anger, and sadness - would not work in the majority of cases. Having birds, and rainbows and angels and unicorns could work, however, on the front of an album containing music which is generally more calm and meant to relax.)
Fabigail, that made me laugh! :D
You're awesome.
*hugs*
I was looking at Loki t-shirts, I want one for my birthday! :D and a Brandi Carlile t shirt! Or a Loki poster!
*frowns*
I have a ton of little scabs and scratches on my arm from picking at my skin. It looks really bad..
@Sophia: Fairy nuff. Although you can make perfectly beautiful depressing-angry artwork.
:/
Beauty =/= rainbows, imo.
I'M ALMOST HAPPY AND I KNOW FOR A FACT I'M THE AWESOMEST PERSON ALL YEY'ALL KNOW (:P,",',',') SO DON'T HATE ON OTHER HAPPY PEOPLE!
@Dugglyn : OMG
HI-FIVE
(well, my marks and scabs are on my legs and face. I can only pock at my skin one-handed on my arm, so it's a lot less convenient).
*pick
*NO XD AT DUGGLYN*
I never said there was anything wrong with them.
Elleni, chill, it's over. We're all just are usually happy bunch now, and trust me, I do not support the idea of people being too happy. How does such a thing even happen. Is there a happiness unit?
I should probably sleep. Goodnight folks!
Night Trip!
*high fives back*
Except I need to stop! It's on my face too. Meh! :c
goodnight trip! :)
(Hello, Dugglyn.
Star - Of course. I do think, however, that beauty makes people feel safe - safety not being one of the aspects of things like heavy metal. And you have to feel safe in order to be relaxed. Many people consider rainbows to be beautiful, which will make them feel safe, which will relax them. I, being entirely honest, would feel more relaxed looking a rainbow than something like chains, which have featured on the covers of several heavy metal albums I've seen.)
@Dugglyn: Mmh. Hmm. Yeah. I just took my mirror down, because I do most of mind in front of the mirror. If you don't use your mirror so much, that tip might not transfer.
Try fiddling with something else. Like jewellery - of you get a good piece, it's great. I also got a rather good maze pen to fiddle with in lessons recently.
Sometimes I also focus on it ing my split ends off . . . hair is something I always have with me, so it's easy to rely on. At one poi t, I bit my hair more than the skin around my fingernails, bit then I got scared that my hair would be uneven lengths so I went back to biting my skin. How silly of me.
@Sophia: Admittedly, you have a poi t. :P
*mine
(In addition to the safety thing, it would make something like classical music (the more calm kind) similar to abseiling down a building - it's calm, quiet and rhythmical. In comparison, heavy metal would be similar to jumping off said building - a lot of screaming, and you'll be lucky if your ears are intact after it.
And on the whole beauty = safe idea, perhaps that is why people generally go for those who could be considered better looking than others - to fulfil some primordial instinct of needing to feel safe.)
Okay, I'll try that. The other problem is that after I pick at it and it scabs I unconsciously pick at the scabs. :/
Actually, I have quite a few necklaces I could wear.. hmm.
(Dugglyn - Perhaps the best thing to do (this goes for you as well, Star) would be to stick as many stickers as you can possibly find down on to a piece of paper, and then try and pick them off - thus keeping your hands busy and satisfying any habit of picking you may have.)
(but soph I listen to classical when I am mad. I imagine blowing up buildings with classical music like Chopin :D sort of like in v for vendetta but I did it in my head way b4 i seen that movie)
Xd I've heard that movie is pretty good, haven't watched it though con :D
(Of course, Conductor. As blowing up buildings whilst listening to classical music would make you feel safe, which is one of the components of crime. Hence why the death penalty is an effective deterrent - if a criminal does not feel safe committing a crime, they rarely will. It is only because society is so tolerant - I.E. making criminals feel relatively safe whilst they do illegal acts - that crime rate is relatively high. So listening to classical music would make you feel more safe in the situation.)
...
*sighs*
*greets everyone/anyone here and decides to take a walk in the forest, heading for her treehouse*
*meaning may or may not be here and wbd if she is*
Hello again.
Hey, Hopey.
Hmm, I like that idea. Oooh, or I could put glue on my hand, let it dry then peel it off!

https://youtube.com/?reload=2&rdm=1kdhrw4m4#/watch?v=5Ozvm703hp8
Totes my goats hilarious! ^^
@Sophia Plenty of crimes are committed where the person may feel unsafe doing it. Safe is objective.
Hi Kas, Duggy. How are you both?
... Is it bad if your head goes numb? Or just like, the skin /on/ your head?
(Hello, Tamami.
In addition, Francis Galton concluded (after overlaying composite photographs of different people over each other) that being average was one of the main contributing factors to what - or who - would be considered beautiful. Which means, if you have something different, unique or special about you - other than what is largely considered the norm - you may not fit the vast majority of people's opinion about beauty. Which means they will not feel as safe around you, which means they will not be as relaxed around you - which in turn will result in things such as discrimination.)
@Dugg Playing with glue may be bad for your skin :/
hey hopey ^_^ how are you? :)
@Tami Um... Yes?
(Tia - Crimes are more likely to happen when the criminal feels safe doing it. This is not always the case, but in most scenarios it will happen. Someone is more likely to pull a trigger on a gun knowing that there will be no consequences, rather than if there are.)
@Frank: Hi. Doing surprisingly better than just ten minutes ago... *mumbles* Hate mood swings...
@Kas: Then I guess it's a good thing it's not numb anymore. I had to massage it a bit though, but it's better now.
Hi Soph. *waves*
There are always consequences, Sophia. It's about whether the criminal is ready to face them.
And there will always be people who can either ignore those consequences and commit the crime anyway, or face the consequences and commit the crime anyway.
(Dugglyn - gluing your hand may result in more skin being peeled off, thus making the problem worse. It would be better to do as I suggested, or get some non-permanent adhesive (weak tapes and things such as blutack, for example) and stick and remove them from your skin, as it is unlikely their adhesive will be strong enough to break the skin when removed.)
Nice first comment.
*nods*
hopey: awww *hugs* i saw your msg ^_^ It made me feel good, thank you ^_^ you're awesome :)
*wants to lie down, but feels that her head might go numb again if she does*
...
*leans her back against the wall*
*hugs Tami*
I'm restless, for some reason...
Nah, you're just a good dancer. :P But you're welcome. :)
*hugs Kas back*
*can't think of a response to that*
awww...what's up? :) and mehh, i am an alright dance ^_^
(Acceptable consequences make people feel more safe than ones they could not accept, hence why criminals are not easily deterred by prison or fines, as they are acceptable consequences. Take the USA in World War II/The Cold War, for example. If Japan had had nuclear weaponry alike to Russia, it is unlikely that the USA would have dropped their bombs. But the consequences were acceptable for them to drop the bombs, and they felt safe to do so as afterwards, Japan could not have effectively counter-attacked as the consequences of doing so (another bomb) would have been unacceptable and they would have felt unsafe doing so. In the Cold War, the USA never attempted to engage in nuclear warfare with Russia due to the unacceptable consequences - they felt unsafe so did not drop any nuclear bombs. Safety is a key feature in whether actions happen or not, and crime is only one example of this.)
Just heard that there's a new virus spreading from the Middle East and it's super contagious with a 40% chance of death...
As it's new, I don't think doctors can find a way to cure it yet... :/
It's like a common sickness; lots of coughing, possibly fever, but then it can get so bad that you could die from it...
:/
Oh, and did I mention that it's super contagious? That's a big factor to it.
well...there are always new viruses hopey ^_^ they come and go, thanks to the diversity in our alleles, and present scientific knowledge ^_^ don't worry about it too much, though be careful :) (if u wanna talk about what's on your mind, my skype is ready, any time ^_^)
*is now worried that lying down would cause her head to go numb again, but she really wants to...*
(Tamami - I am not especially worried. By the time it reaches the USA and Europe (if it reaches the USA and Europe), scientists will have had ample chance to study it.)
*acknowledges Frank's words with a nod*
Yeah, but the thing is, one person with the sickness went to Korea (South, obviously) and it started spreading there.
I have friends who visit Korea...
look...i think i could tell you some things that would put you to ease ^_^
when do they visit korea? and btw...it's like...i've had the thing that i thought something was wrong with me so many times ^_^ and here i am still (biologically at least :P) normal ^_^
again if u want to talk private, you can tell me anything you don't want others to know ^_^
on skype ^_^
All it takes is one person. They could fly anywhere and it would spread.
This reminds me of that blood loss virus from that one Planet of the Apes movie(the prologue one, came out before the newest)... It spreads almost that fast... :/
They're visiting now, and I'm not sure when they're coming back. They didn't say...
And while it's true that not all sicknesses are that serious, I'm still... worried.
(Possibly due to a lack of effective quarantine and treatment, Tamami. In the event of a disease outbreak in the middle east, America, Australia and England are possibly the safest places to be. Each of them has effective quarantine systems in place and good technology.)
*shakes her head*
It's okay, Frank. Thanks for offering though, I'll keep that in mind.
(In addition, each has geographical protection - whether it is by using water or other countries as buffers, effectively, to slow the spread of the disease long enough for more study.)
it's ok...don't believe everything you read ^_^ Ebola was supposed to be such an outbreak as well, yet it was nothing ^_^ it is also completely impossible for a virus to infect everyone :)
@Soph There is a difference between people doing something, and nations.
People can be oblivious. They gamble with their lives, choose and pursue actions which can very clearly get them killed.
Soldiers do that. Sometimes they have to, sometimes they don't.
Both may think that they'll get through this just fine, that they won't get caught or killed when they put themselves under fire.
hopey: ok, it's your decision :) gonna head to sleep in a bit...not like too soon, but in a bit ^_^
Uh, I wouldn't call Ebola nothing. many people died.
*nods at Soph and Frank's words*
I guess you're right.. I'll try not to worry so much then.
*smiles a little* Thank you both.
perhaps, but that's due to the conditions that north and middle african people are prone to ^_^ more people die of other diseases every year there :D
(There is a difference between choosing to commit an act, fully aware of the consequences and feeling unsafe whilst partaking in the act, and being unaware of the consequences entirely.
Soldiers choose to put themselves in danger because it is an acceptable consequence.)
I find it cute how you were worrying about that ^_^ I myself used to have panic attacks, though from different things ^_^ *hugs*
@Sophia And like I said, criminals have both the people who can accept that they're likely to get caught, and do it anyway, and people who lie to themselves that they're not likely to get caught for committing a crime.
I understand what you mean, Fera, especially because it didn't really spread much outside that region but it was pretty bad in that area.
And maybe because the whole world was aware of it it stopped faster.
Also, just because it's normal doesn't make it good, the fact people knew about it helped people.
*nods at Duggy's words*
I seem to be nodding a lot..
(But both examples support my idea of safety being an important factor of crime - the first, in the sense that acceptable consequences make people feel safer than unacceptable ones, and the second in the sense that said criminal will have had to lure themselves into a false sense of safety in order to commit the crime.)
I am not very good at judging my own mood. I've been sad all day, actually. I've no idea why. I also don't know why I didn't notice earlier.
dugglyn: well, if there was another virus as contagious as it was, there would be red alerts everywhere, and safety precautions issued...the fact that there hasn't been one just says that it might be a just above average virus, not normal, but not really dangerous either, especially cuz mortality rates are only 40%...that's very good compared to some diseases ^_^
hopey: Don't keep whatever's wrong in your head...i just want you to let me try and help ^_^
*hugs Kas*
Maybe you were distracted with other things to notice? That's a good thing though, right? :/
*doesn't get hugged back* :/
Frank, other than this virus thing, I'm okay. Really. Thank you though.
@Soph most people fall into the second category. Almost everyone thinks that they won't be the one who gets a hefty fine, or jail time, or death sentence, or even community service.
hopey: please don't lie ^_^
*hugs Frank too, before pulling out and messing up his hair*
:P
*rolls her eyes*
I'm not lying.
*smiles* there we go, i am happier now as well *tackles hopey* ^_^
@Tami I don't know. Maybe.
*caresses face* ^_^
*is tackled*
*slaps his hand away from her face*
Okay, mister. A little too far there.
sorreh :p
btw, like the new profile pic :)
NEXT POST (did I get it right?)
WAIT....We're like 150 comments away :D
btw...you wanna how biology went hopey? :p ^_^
Yes.
Thanks, Frank. It's an old one I had way back when I was still Lavender and a few blog months old.

Sorry, that yes was just answering my own question about the link. But go ahead, you can tell me if you want. ^.^
Hi Zaf.
*waves back*

Zaffy sad but Duggy will see spoilers if I say why
oh yeah, hopey...have you read skulduggery the dying of light? ^_^
Off to sleep.
Good night.
goodnight kas :)
That's great, Frank. *smiles*
And no, I haven't read the last three books yet. :/
Good night, Kas. Sleep well.
Fera, check your skype...

Check it again.
*smiles gently*

It's fine. I'll be on Skype, okay?

I forgot how to add people on iPod...
Mine is lavender.hope
*goes to sleep-probably not sleeping anyways* bye everyone...
Good night to you guys. *leaves hugs*
I have to go too.
*poofs*
(*smiles, cuddling close to the now sleeping Soph, curling up*
*murmurs something about her looking up vampires and grins*)
Onwa: Of corse. So, where do you wish to go first?
*raises an eyebrow*
Hmmm...
Manuel: Indeed. There perhaps may be some longer clothes further back.
(*curses brain for waking up early*
*stomach hurts*
*moans and curls up*)
Roller glue would be fine. At school people used to put roller glue on their hands and pick it off all the time.
(Hey starry eyes)
(@Star so maybe try that.. although that might no stop you wanting to pick your skin..)
(*sighs with relief* last exam today)
(*hugs Chloe* Good luck! You can do it!)
*pops up suddenly next to Chloe with a big smile on her face*
Good luck, Chloe! Since it's the last, does that mean you'll be out for the summer soon?
*is excited and happy*
(*huggles* thanks
Tbh, I'm past the point of caring about chemistry
I'm dropping it next year anyways
Despite how much my mum snaps at me)
@Jai: No. True.
I'm
so
tired
I'm
dying.
*hugs Jai*
Same question for you.
I hope more people come on during the summer.
(Hey tam tam ^.^
Well, I have the rest of this week off
Which is good, so I can celebrate my birthday
Then from 8th till 19th of June I have to go back to college to start year two work, but then I'll be free ^.^)
*also hugs the Starlion*
*also hugs the Starlion*
(Don't die star!)
Dang wifi. -_-
Nice, Chloe! :D also... When's your birthday again? Sorry. I forgot. ^.^'
(*cuddles tamami and Huggles Chloe*
Please. I've seven weeks exactly.)
(@star don't die!)
(Don't apologise XD it's Friday ^.^
I have a certain amount of money that my parents can spend on me for my birthday, once it's gone it's gone
I don't think I have enough to get a tattoo -_-)
(Everyone, good luck with your exams! I know what smart little cookies you all are !)
(@Chloe Awwwww :/)
(Cest le vie
I'll just have to get a job to pay for it
*mutters* if y applications get back to me)
*smiles, nods, and stores the information on her calendar*
Could you save the money and wait till you earn more somehow?
(No
It's the money my parentsyse to get presents
Unfortunatly this is a year when I actually want stuff so a tattoo will have to wait)
Once again, next post
(@Chloe :/ *hugs*)
(*huggles*
I don't get how people get jobs so easily)
Aww. Well, there's always another way, if you try hard for it. :)
*checks her calendar*
... Oh. Seems like I already put your birthday on... Heh. ^.^' Guess I forgot about that too.
(Hehehe XD)
Sorry, gotta go now.
Good luck with exams guys! I look forward to when you'll be off for summer! :D
(Byii Tam Tam ^.^ thank you!)
(*glares at the sky*
Oh hahaha. Very funny. Be nice and clear until I step out without my coat wht why don't you.)
(awww poor jai)
Love when that happens, sid.
*msd*
Hi.
Hmm. Kas, would you like to dedicate before we run out of space here?
Just wondering.
Hey, Tami! :)
I dedicate to my friends - you guys are awesome! :)
Thank you for being here for me.
*isn't sure if that included her*
Hear hear, Kassy.
It's weird how quiet it is...and that there are a lot of people at school doing exams still and i'm done. Feels strange.
@Gem *nods*
Hear hear, Kas. :)
Yeah, Aria... This place has been really quiet recently...
I wouldn't know, Tami. I only came back last night and you can see how well that went...
i didn't know Keiron was conductor but apparently everyone else did and no one told me...
I've gotta go. Bye! *hugs Tami and Gem*
Bye Kas.
*hugs back*
*sighs*
I skipped reading most of what happened yesterday...
Bye Kassy...
*hugs*
Probably best. I lost it when i found it was him.
So... How are you feeling now, Aria? Out of school yet? Or still some days left?
(*sits next to her clothes she packed and listens to music*
Bored as hell...plans canceled...even more alone.)
I'm not in the best state right now Tami. My best friend just cancrled our plans today. So now i'm feeling worse than last night.
I've already left school. Finished my exams the 21st of May.
Back. Had a job interview.
Deleted comment?
*hugs Gem* :/
How'd it go, Kas?
*hugs Aria*
Sorry to hear that... But on the bright side, you've finished school. You'll have lots more opportunities. Hopefully. Right?
Also sorry for the late response. Was distracted, then keyboard froze as I tried to reply.
Cool, Kassy.
i double posted.
*hugs Tami*
Yeah...opportunity to do fuck all the rest of my life.
