Ah. Well you would not survive a single rockclimbing session robin . . . We use chalk to help us grip the holds and climbing a wall with no handholds is very difficult, even assuming you avoided all the chalkfights . . .
Last time I climbed, I forgot my chalk bag. I will never do that again.

Drew, i understand your point.
But just because Eoin was writing about humans being bad as a species doesn't nessessarily mean he thinks all humans are horrible.
He was writing from the point of view of the fairies. Fairies hate humans, so obviously he would often be writing as if humans were deserving of their hatred. Think of it this way - before Artemis Fowl came along, how many fairies had spoken with humans properly, tried to male friends with them? None of them ever knew any humans personally. Them hating humans seems to me a bit like people in a country (country A) far away from another country (country B), with no people from B really coming to A, hating everyone from country B because country A and country B fought a war against each otger once a lobg time ago. That isn't fair to country B at all, but because the only thing the people in country A had to Bon was the war, of course they would dislike people from B. I know it's racism, but people are often like that.
The humans have polluted more than the fairies, of course they have, but yes, the fairies hace caused pollution. Maybe they blame global warming on the humans because a) a bit of CO2 doesn't matter and if not for the humans it would inly be a bit b) it's more the human's fault than the fairies and c) it's nice to have someone to blame (not going into a religious debate here but that is one of the purposes of gods etc., not saying all gods, not saying anything about the existance of God/gods, just pointing out something).
Fairy weapons are less lethal than human ones. Softnoses (in the second book) were outlawed because they were guns designed to kill, not merely cause unconsciousness. Yes, fairies have some rather dangerous weapons, but the majority of them strongly dislike killing people/animals.
Blue rinses are a last resort. A kill-a-few-people-to-save-millions idea. It isn't as if they just throw a bio-bomb at any problem they see.
I cannot wait until it comes out. I think I might pre order it today . . .
