In yet other news, I watched the final Sherlock tonight. Much better than last week's, thank God. A relentless plunge into second-guesses and secret plans. Liked it a LOT.
And in even MORE other news, five minutes ago I crossed the 20,000 word mark on Book 7. I don't think I've ever written this fast before. Looks like I'll have it done on time after all...

ReplyDeleteWOW I've never been this high up before! Hey Derek, are you ever going to make a contest for south east Asia? I know there's not much here and that you wouldn't expect to have any fans, but you have many (Most of us are from other countries though, few locals read your books)! I know that South East Asia may seem dull and uninteresting (in a ridiculously large amount of ways it is), but where I live the crime rate is SERIOUSLY high, which I think could give the people here some ideas. For instance, the black market in the place where I live is practically legal, the police even go there sometimes when their off duty. It's practically impossible to buy any DVDs or videogames that aren't pirated, there are a ridiculous amount of snatch thieves here, and every week another sociopath kills another few people. Once a man broke into a kindergarden with a hammer and tried to smash the faces of children in. Another time a group of people carrying acid buckets splashed them into the faces of people. And every other day a child is kidnapped and found a week later dead in the channels. If that can't offer some inspiration, what can?

Such as "Wreck this Book" and, what I am working on now, "F nish Th s B k" (It's missing letters on purpose) you doodle and draw and train in the art of sleuthing. I am enjoying it a lot. I would suggest checking it out. Fun!
Oh, I can't wait! I get to meet two people I look up to in the coming weeks. First, my good friend and instructor Chief Master M.K. Lee is visiting, then Grandmaster is visiting about three weeks later. These guys are the top dogs and are amazing martial artists. So excited!

DeleteI wouldn't mind the new blog layout so much (the reply feature seems interesting and potentially useful) if it wasn't for the lack of pages - this "load more" thing might work on blogs that only get a handful of comments, but with hundreds, it gets incredibly tedious to load them all bit by bit every time you want to see if there's been anything new added...

In other news, I've now unpacked All My Books and now have a special shelf - with the best visibility and just the right height for easy reach - for the SP books. It's only my dictionaries, style guides, grammar handbooks etc that get to sit closer to me, due to them actually being needed more often for work.
He was acting pretty moronic at that moment in time...

It could be but I don't get why they should cost more unless they're collectors editions. I have all the English covers (I do live in England) but we can still get American covers which I HATE! Sorry to any Americans' on right now...
