The time has come...
Death Bringer is trickling into some shops ahead of schedule... I was in my local bookstore today and there it was- out two days before it should be. I glared at the book, and the book blushed, for such is the power of my glare.
The official launch is today- Wednesday- in Dublin. And then Thursday it is finally, and officially, unleashed.
So the comments section for THIS blog entry are reserved for MILD SPOILERS. There is to be NO casual conversation here- that's what the previous entry is for. THIS entry is for discussions about the book. Even so, try to exercise SOME caution, because you just KNOW that someone is going to stumble onto it by accident, or they're going to pop in before they've FINISHED and then they're going to be horrified that the ending is now ruined for them...
So. If you haven't read Death Bringer, continue using the previous comments section. But once you have read it... discuss it here.
And now I'm going to bed.

«Oldest ‹Older 401 – 432 of 432I thought the fact that it said "jelly" for the eye was just gross. Hilarious, but gross.
And we never did find out how the group of mortals got into Gordon's house, did we?

I don't think so, no.
True, and the Halloween Story was great. And the fact that Dr. Nye was featured in Death Bringer, but-even with being (at least in my view) a semi-major character-having so few scenes leads me to wonder if his role will be slightly larger in the next book.
I think the Necromancers let them in, thought I can't be sure. And did you guys think it was kind of creepy when Ravel kissed Valkyrie's cheek at the ball?
(sorry I have to try out this italics thing)
Not creepy, but odd, rather....
And Vex kissed China's cheek, which was also creepy.
I can't help but think that Nye being employed by the Sanctuary, and the way it's been explicitly pointed out that he's doing research on souls, is going to have something to do with Tanith.
Except that it would almost be too easy, wouldn't it? Too obvious? Still, I'd love for that to happen. And for Tanith to get the Remnant out of her again! Preferably with leaving Tanith alive, too.
I just found it funny how Valkyrie was all "eww, he's too old" about Caelan or that one man Skulduggery suggested she dance with, while she was all blushy about Ravel's good looks in Mortal Coil and was flirting happily with Dexter Vex at the ball. So I guess she didn't mind too much, as long as it's all just very non-serious flirting stuff.
(But this is part of why I really hope that Valkyrie was indeed sixteen, closer to seventeen, in Death Bringer, and not fifteen!)
So true...
Bad Vex! Bad! Don't flirt with pretty sixteen-year-olds! You should know better!!!
I have to go. :/
It's been great talking to you guys. If you want to find me else where, I'm always up for a chat on FanFic.

Bye, Vee!
I should probably take a break from the computer too... go and read something, perhaps. It's been fun, though. :D
Oh, this was creepy:
"You tried to dissect me."
"I did dissect you. I just didn't dissect you enough."
So you're leaving? Aw. Bye Kribu! I'm going back to the new post...
HELLOOOO!!!!! LOVED the new book ,unfortunately, I only got the book a few days ago but I've managed to read it in two days (on top of all the homework I have). But I think I found a mistake on page 571 when it says 'Her held her off the ground' isn't it supposed to be 'he'? It doesn't really matter because the book was still AMAZING and gory (which is always good). I also loved how Caelan dies at the end of the book (as I never really liked him; I guess I'm more of a Fletcher type of gal) but I do hope Fletcher and Valkyrie get back together!
Okay, well, this is a VERY late comment indeed.
I LOVED the book SO much, Derek. Thank you for blessing us all with this flawless book. I don't know how you did it, but you made it even funnier, scarier, thrillinger and Skulduggerier than all the others! I was so shocked when I found out that Skulduggery was Lord Vile, I leaped off my bed, galloped out of the room, skidded at the turn, nearly fell on my face, barged into my bothers' room and screamed at them at them for just sitting around in their room when SKULDUGGERY WAS LORD VILE!!! Sheesh!
I was especially upset when China's secret was revealed, she's my favourite character besides Valkyrie and our favourite skeleton.
....You are going to do something else with her...right?
I read this book over and over, and over and over and over, and over and over and over and over. I loved it that much. I want to be at the next book signing, please come back to Australia! I actually had a dream that I was at your book-signing, but you had an assistant that I've seen on So You Think You Can Dance, and you had all these machines, and then a rock fell from space and suddenly all the SP books were replaced with books about the rock...creepy.
Waiting impatiently for book seven, and now I am having dinner.
Bye!
I would also like to say that I do not support Valduggery. I said good day.
*sigh*

I am the Lord.
And the sheep is my shepherd.
Boop boop.
Boop.
