Well now... this IS interesting.
As you may or may not know, I’m heading over to Edinburgh on the 15th of August for the Book Festival. It’s a big festival, one of the best-known in the world, and I’m happy to be a part of it. Some of you from this Blog are going, and a few weeks ago one of you asked if Death Bringer would be available to buy on the day. I laughed, shook my head in a wise sort of way, and gently told the lad that no, it will not be available, and that he’d have to wait a further two weeks like everyone else. The start of September, I said, is when it will be unleashed. Not even the legendary Edinburgh Book Festival will get my publishers to change their mind about THAT.
Ahem.
And so I must backtrack, and eat my words, and announce that yes indeedy, Death Bringer will be available to buy at the Edinburgh Book Festival...!
We’re releasing it two weeks early so that the readers who attend the event can be the first to get the book signed- but there are some rules.
Rule Number One: The book will ONLY be available to buy for FOUR HOURS on the 15th. Once those four hours are up, the remaining books will be packed up and hidden away until the proper release date.
Rule Number Two: Those who DO attend and who DO buy the book must swear a solemn oath to NOT divulge ANY spoilers, not matter how much others may beg. ESPECIALLY not the twist in the middle!
Rule Number Three: Do not talk about Fight Club.
Over the next few days we’ll be putting up various things on the Skulduggery website and Forums and Facebook pages with more details about what’s going on, ticket information, things like that. For those of you who can go, the chance to get the book early is pretty cool. For those of you who can’t go... well... at least you’ll only have another two weeks to wait...

I hate to say this but I didn't even bother reading your blog today....Or any other day for the past......ever...but today I had a good excuse...I was scared if I didn't comment soon your comment box would fill up and I wouldn't be able to say anything until early in the next blog. I just wanted to say that Skulduggery Pleasant and Newgrounds.com have inspired me to do a parody Skulduggery Pleasnat Animated Fanfiction. It'll be a fanfiction...but in flash animation...so it'll be like....a TV show...but on the computer...yeah. It'll be great, but it probably won't be done until like.........a long time from now...might even be a couple of years as I have no experience doing this whatsoever qand have no resources other then a pencil and paper. But I'm good at drawing and know how to use a pivot animator so it shouldn't be that hard. And if anyone out there knows anything about animation I'll be happy to take tips. And it will be great I promise. I wont screw it up. I've actually been working on this for a while, writing my own little screenplays for the episodes but I started reading over them and decided I needed to start over because they all stunk. So far it's going much better.

DEREK!!!! You talked to me omgh omgh omgh... it was only a 2 week holiday :( terms are all mucked up in nz cause of the rugby work cup 11 11 9 7 week terms! sorry im rambling... The mistake is (pretty sure u havnt found it!)is on page 89 and 91 of playing with fire it says They were heading over to Gordans house to see whether her late uncle's office held any books on the grotesquery, it reapetes the same thing on both pages! okkkkkaaayyyyy.....I know this is out of the blue and out of place but...My Grandfather just died. it was quite sudden for me. My mum just told me. She called my place at home and yeah...She said "Grandpa has passed away" and I think she said it like that to make it sound more peaceful. Let me get this straight, I didn't really like my grandfather. He was inflexible, snappy, formal, unpleasant, not able to take a joke and self pitying. But maybe that's unfair, I never really knew him. Our grandparent's house was 2-3 hours drive away. We live in Sydney, they lived in Canberra. we went their every holidays, and I hated the stays there. when I was five, I would run away from him when I heard him coming down the hall. When Mum said it: "Grandpa has passed away" I used to think that I would feel relieved when he was dead. It's NOTHING like that. At first shock. my mind went completely blank. Mum sounded calm for having one of her parents die, but Dad said she was probably in shock. anyway, I have no idea why I posted this here... I was just checking the blog when the phone rang. I feel strange. it's like someone sucked out the insides of my heart. Painless and numb. It's strange to think that I will never again unwittingly make grandpa angry. It's an easy thing to do really. It's strange, suddenly, when someone dies, they become an angel. Everyone forgets every bad thing they've done in their life.
When the reality of it kicks in, I'm not sure how I'll react. I don't think I'll cry, but it's just a taste of the shock that comes with a death of someone you knew well.
