Okay- ready for the first official piece of news about Book 6?
A few days ago, I got a brand new niece to add to my collection. Little Clara can now join the twins as they scuttle along the floor, with their cousin Sophie looking on with great amusement.
And as I promised, Valkyrie's brand new sibling will be following suit- so Val is getting a little sister. Yay!
Any GIVEN name suggestions will be greatly appreciated...!

I don't really know about a name... Definitely not Beryl (ick!) but maybe something like Ella that means a torch or bright light? Stephanie means crown so even something that would compliment that would be nice. And, of course, I could always throw my own name into the hat...

By the way, Master Derek, I finally started a fan-fic. :]
I wonder where Kallista went? I figured her comp. froze, but it's been too long for that, now...
*sighs*
i...ned to..write...SOMETHING!
How about 'Sabrina' :)
You should write something, Mar. :]
oh, did i tell you because i got my hair cut and straightened, some guy, when he turned around and saw me, yelled 'WOAH!" and stumbled back, then kneeled down and said-
"Will you marry me?"
~jaw drops~
You're totally kidding, Mar!
...Right?!?
Congrats :')
Depends what you're looking for, name-wise. I mean, Val's family don't seem to do the whole traditional Irish names thing, so going by that, here are a few suggestions:
- Lucy, meaning 'light'
- Robyn, meaning 'bright fame'
- Nadine, meaning 'hope'
- Matilda/Tilly/Tillie, meaning 'battle strength'
- Chloe, meaning 'victory of the people'
- Wren, meaning 'small bird'... I've grown to quite like this one
- Alana, meaning 'little rock'
- Caoimhe/Keeva, meaning 'beautiful'
That probably won't help much, but just throwing them out there. I could go on forever with names, but I'll stop there. Personally, I think the name of Val's sister-to-be is important, which is why I focused on meanings of names and then picking a name whose meaning I liked. I think I like Wren best because I can see Val feeling completely protective of her. Wrens are beautiful birds, but they're so tiny and cute. I don't know... I'm rambling.
I saw someone else suggest Rowan, which is a lovely name. Reminds me of Rohan... Lord of the Rings is wonderful.
nope. he did.
wich was weird, bacause we were in social studies, and he normally doesnt notice me at all, unless to say a rude comment, or to laugh at me.
so i did the sensible thing.
i laughed at him and walked away.
I love the name Chloe!
@Mar
LOL Awesome
oh no, not Chloe. nuh uh. nope. not Chloe. not possible. Chloe is EVIL. EVIL.
Just realised after posting, Skyril, that one of my cousins is called Chloe. Hopefully the new addition to the Edgley family won't be so loud and hyper.
nooo it wont accept it!!
And I put down Chloe because of the meaning.
@Mar
What?? Why??
@Bethany
LOL that would be funny!
one sec im gonna try again
Aww, Skulgirl! xD
dang it ok im just gonna try and do the names without the meanings one sec...again
*headdesk*
CHLOE IS EVIL! EVIL I SAY!
dangit i give up never mind
How come Chloe's evil, Mar? Not that I particularly like the name. I'm just curious.
Why, Mar?!?! O.o
Chloe is one of the goof guys! Ever watched Smallville?
Sorry, Skulgirl
*good
ugg guys i gotta go the dreaded homework must be fofilled if i want to watch an episode of Stargate tonight bye for now!
CHLOE IS EVIL! (not to mention a scardy-cat) EVIL! SHE ORCHESTRATED THE WHOLE THING!
Congratulations!!! I love the name Brielle :)
bye skulgirl!
Goof guys :L
Aww farewell, SKulgirl! Good-night! Sleep well! :]
I meant good, lol
gtg, too. Good night!
Aw Good-night, Aquila! Sleep well :]
awwww, bye Aquila!
So what's the deal with Chloe?
Chloe is evil.
LOL but you won't tell us why
Chloe came out of the book from the evil-doings of the evil company Halloween and ran away. She pulled other characters out of the book, and went to find the reincarnate of her enemies.
Ahhhh
brb
She used two siblings to go and capture her arch-enemy, but instead they captured their OWN arch-enemy instead. so chloe's enemy got away. chloe desided to keep the siblings enemy, for bait.
her enemy took the bait and went to find her friend. along the way she met some good-guys from the same book. together they traveled to the headquarters of Chloe and the siblings. then they fought an epic battle. and were able to get all the original characters back into the book, with some help from their REAL friends. right befpre new years.
but halloween's still out there, waiting to strike the two friends and cause them pain for what they did...
Back!
Now I see why you don't like Chloe. Books can be VERY influencing on names you like or dislike. :]
Very interesting story, by the way.
its not an official book. me and my friend wrote it.
This is totally unrelated, but I was wondering, if you set your arm on something that was moving up and down, but YOU weren't moving it yourself, would you get exercise?
...it don't...think so...
Oh, really? That's awesome! It sounded really cool
It's a difficult question, isn't it? :P
*smiles*
eh. it was kinda all morphed together with various anime's and fanfics...
Monica.
I've thought about stuff like that before, I mean morphing stuff together to make one thing. :]
*squish*
ever heard of the anime shugo chara?
Hullo, Books :] Mind if I call you Books?
~waves~
I've see the name, Mar, but don't really know anything about it...
squish?
hmm. well, me and my frind like tormanting the characters from it. like call a boy girly-boy, and a girl pinky-girl. fun times...fun times...

IT'S A GIRL!!!!! WHOOHOOO I finally know!
LOL :P
~Whacks Mar with a rice paddle~
YOW!
*wacks skyril on the head with a frypan*
METAL BEATS WOOD!
dang. gotta go. mom wants the computer.
DEREK! I'LL BE WAITING FOR A REPLY!
bye!
*dashes away*
Aww sorry for the slow reply!
Bye, Mar!!
I'm not often on alone...
300! Woot!
Mar-Chu asked-
do you think people should make writing for age-appropriate for their audience? like, make a pre-rating, or make a note, or something like that?
So, if they write a lot a swear words, or especially dirty topics, or what-not, readers are aware and warned in the beginning?
This... is a tricky one. On the one hand, a rating of some kind would help make sure that the material is appropriate for a particular person.
One the other hand, what is meant by appropriate? If, for example, someone believes that gay marriage is a topic that should not be discussed in a children's book, does that mean the writer can't mention gay marriage if he wants a lower rating?
Actually, now that I put it like that, I realise I'm not in favour of a rating at all. It could be the first step towards censorship. Hmph. Never thought of it like that before... So, you have your answer, Mar-Chu, and I have a new opinion. We both win!
and i see on Mortal Coil is says ages 9+...
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! WITH ALL THAT BLOOD?!
Er... and I seem to have included the END of Mar-Chu's question at the bottom of my answer. Which is weird.
LOL
No, it's just funny. :3
AHHHH! I love it when you comment to us! :]
I agree with your answer, I by the way. I wouldn't wan books being rated.
Why does my candle keep going out? ~re-lights candle... for the 3rd time~
~offers Master Derek a cookie~
:P It was worth a try. :]
Kallista!!
~hugs~
I was wondering where you disappeared to a while ago! Glad you're back :]
LOL he should!
Really? Shovel? Burying a dead body, Kallista? :P
Catherine means pure...
How about Pandora?
www.behindthename.com
you can search up names by meaning here.
I'm constantly editing mine too. Before I posted both of them, I read and re-read each two or three time. Then after they were posted I've read them each at LEAST another three times, and made little edits here or there. Making it a bit better. :]
LOL Ahhh riiiight shovel the driveway. THAT'S what you were doing. ~winks~ I'll keep that little secret between you and me. :P
I sure can't wait till you post yours, Kallista!
You know, sticking a match upside-down into a candle and burying to it's hilt then lighting it works as a wick. :]
AH you make good dialogue, Kallista! The one you're working on might not be as good as it could be at this point, but That's what the editing is for. :] It'll be brilliant!
Ooo cake! :D
Cool!
~smiles as I imagine it~
That's going to be fun. :]
I really like hanging out here when I'm writing. It helps me when I come to a part I don't know how to write, or something, I can just come on here, chatting with my friends while I think about it. :]
I've hardly written anything today, though. Yesterday and the day before I was working on it almost constantly. So i though I'd take a bit of a break. :]
I hope I don't ever get bogged down with it. I hate how I often start things and never finish them I really don't want to do that this time.
I have a vague outline for how things will happen and how things will probably turn out, but practically all of the actual writing is... completely as I write it, you know.
LLO Sorry for talking about the fan-fic so much lately! xD
Yeah, that make total sense!
With me, I have to talk to the actual people more. Because it's real life PLUS their OC. But the OC part is mostly how they look and what they wear. Stuff like that.
Of course, I've only had Lizzy and characters from the book so far, but others will be coming soon.
Thanks :]
Oh, alright. I'll likely be on. :] See you in a bit!
I use the word "into" instead of simply "in" a lot. I wonder if that's correct....
Emma. Name her Emma. Emmas are amazing
Hullo, Em!
I just realized I burnt my fingernail... that's odd...
I hate not knowing stuff I need to know about rifles...
I suppose I'll ask Lizzy when I see her next.
YESSSS
SHE'S SO CUTE!! XD
Oh yeah, another question for you, Master Derek. What happens if Sanguine goes underground when he's on the second floor?
Pandora! Hullo!
LOL that would be funny on here for a quick second just saying to derek
YOU NEVER ANSWERED MY QUESTION DEREK!!!!!!

Hey, Kallista! Welcome back!
That's ok, Pandora.
@Kallista
He was right. I should have asked him first.
*Returns high-five*
I'm good, insanely relieved Thursday's over, and excited for Friday x]
Friday's a good day. :]
I can't Kallista. Part of the story was about Lizzy rescuing her brother. Besides, I already sent him an message apologizing and telling him I deleted it.
Friday's a bomb day...
(Not literally, though, thank heavens... waking up to air raid sirens is NOT how I want to start a day... ever... Gah...)
Yeah, Pandora! That wouldn't be a very gentle awakening!
Waitwaitwait.
THESTORIE'SGONE?WHAT?D:
*Shoots self in foot*
@Pandora
Sorry but Halo commented saying... well, I have his exact words here.
"I don't like this storyline at all, you do not have my permission to use my name or any reference to me. maybe you should ask before you use me next. I am very upset with you. "
Yep. It'd be seconded only by my dad going "(My Name Here), WAKE UP. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME I'VE HAD TO TELL YOU. WE'RE GONNA BE LATE BECAUSE OF YOU AGAIN. GET UP. NOW!
*Me:* OKAY! OKAY! I'M COMING... JUST... just... five more... minutes...
*Accidentally falls asleep again*
LOL
Thursdays just suck in general...
*Sigh*
School sucks...
Skyril: That sucks Dx I'm sorry. Maybe just repost it, but take him out, like Kallista suggested?
Yeah, school is usually rather un-enjoyable
It wouldn't have the real affects that I wanted that way, Pandora. But I couldn't anyway since I specifically told him I deleted it.
Damn... ]:
I think her little sister's given name should be, er, let me think for a second... Ashley, or Molly. And when you say what should her given name is are you suggesting that she will get a TAKEN NAME????
School's made even more un-enjoyable by the tangerines at my school... mainly two of them, actually. Christie, the female-dog-esque bleach blonde who wears WAY too much makeup and thinks she's just queen of the school or something... and then Isabella, my EX-friend, a backstabber, wannabe fashionista, who's really quite tacky, wearing these hideous scarves, big earrings, and animal print, and who treats me and my friends like we're something that crawled out of a sewer... BAH. ARGkaklrjgaskdjgfk.
Who, me? I don't have unresolved issues. Nope... Everything's just fine.
3:
d:
But other then that... if those two could just find a hole and die in it, school wouldn't be so bad. And I'm not the only one who'd like to see them dropped off at a remote island and wave cheerfully from the back of the boat at their retreating figures...
*Hyperventilates*
OKAY. Okay. Rant over. I'm done xD
I VOTE PANDORA!!
YOU SHOULD NAME HER PANDORA!! xD
And then... and then I'd probably have a heart-attack and die that very second. BUT IT'D SO BE WORTH IT XD
Kallista- She is. Grrr. I wish I could just punch her face one day... and just be like, you know what? Screw you. (Not necessarily "screw" though... x3)
Then walk away as the school implodes behind me, and not look back, like in movies x)
But only after everyone's gotten out safely.
@Calem
I think he just wanted to make sure WE know he's not asking for a taken name, but a normal name.
@Kallista
lol :] Right, Charity. :]
@Pandora
I hate those types. It seems there's at least one of them at every school. That's probably how the movies about them came out.
I think I really would die if they named her Pandora though... xDD
They'll wheel me into the ER because I'd gone into cardiac arrest due to shock.
So...
ACTUALLY NO, DEREK. I KINDA VALUE MY LIFE...
BUT MAYBE AS HER MIDDLE NAME :D
@Kallista
It wasn't your fault at all. You didn't even ask me to post it. I suggested it, remember?
And, just so you know, he's known as deagle_pickle when he follows a blog.
But I just got an e-mail from him. It said the following:
"Sorry, i was just a little pissed at you for killing my parents. You can continue your story, just......change it around a little bit. make them unconscious. For me. No hard feelings.
You can use my name to, its Tom."
:]
Yeah... Elementary, Junior High, and most likely High School... if only I didn't manage to always get into some huge fight with them... It's like I've got a sign stuck on my forehead that says "Hey! Come make my life miserable, why don't cha'?"
Not gonna start ranting again... sorry xD Just... argh.
ON A BRIGHTER NOTE...
I can't wait for the weekend.
YUSSSS
SKYRIL CAN CONTINUE!
*Un-shoots self*
Someday, I want to learn how to fold paper cranes.
Ranting is sometimes fun. I often silently rant to myself before I go to sleep xP
NOOOOO
PAPER CRANES ALMOSTTTT,
ALMOST RULED THE PAGEEEEE. Dx
AHHHHH!
KALLISTA!
WHATHAPPENEDTOYOURKNEE?!O:
Hehe... caps lock...
[x
lol ~watches as Pandora rewinds her shooting herself~
~sees the bullet coming out of her in slo-mo~
:P
AH! What's wrong with your knee, Kallista??
Yes, Tom make me thing of Tom from The Last Apprentice. A book series. :]
*Stares at her slow-mo bullet*
O..............................................O
SOMEONE- SOMEONE TAKE A PICTURE! HURRY!
*Waves arms around wildly*
*Finds phone*
*Takes picture*
Phew.
*Bullet finally clinks back into the gun*
*Foots heals itself*
Our basketball team totally got shot today... we lost by like FIVE FREAKING POINTS.
ARGH.
STUPID GUEST TEAM.
Dx<
*think
LOL, Pandora!
Ohhhh... we're having Mac n' Cheese for dinner...
Just a note, if I disappear suddenly, it means it's time for dinner, and I just got dragged away from the keyboard, then bound and gagged while my dad forcefully turns off the computer before I can write "Bye" or something... he does that rather often... >.>
DEREK!!! READ THIS ONE!!!!! YAY! I have a few suggestions.
Ashley
Mallory
Jessica
Sierra
Haylee
Kara
Caroline
Sarah
But I defitely like the name Ashley. I know an Ashley she's a really cool person who's got talent and she's really nice. I would definately go with the name Ashely. :)
Ouch, Kallista D:
~Gives Kallista a cookie~
LOL Ok, Pandora. :]
Yep. I hear the clinking of bowls against the table and forks against bowls... Bye Guys!
*Gets dragged off*
I like grilled cheese better. :]
Or you could name her Valerie. That would be very interesting. XD
Bye, Pandora!
I kind of like Ashley, but I think it's kinda common. I think my brother knew, like 4 Ashleys at one time before.
Hey, Saoirse, you're name wouldn't be Ashley would it? And you wouldn't happen to have a friend who's username is Copernicus, would you?
Are you feeling better from you illness yesterday, Kallista?
Well, I'm glad it's better, anyway. :]
That a good name. You know, I like the name, Aqua.
I don't really like the name Alexandria. It's like a guys name with ia added to the end to make it for a girl.
I like Samantha! Brenda is ok too.
Cassandra makes me think of a princess :P
I like Hazel too
Hazel makes me think of caramel and autumn. :]
I don't think so. I'm not very good with poems. :] Thanks, though.
Well, Hazel makes me think of the color of caramel sauce on cold, delicious ice cream. But it also reminds me of the color of turning leaves in autumn and hazelnuts. :]
Plus Z sounds cool :P
I wonder which name he'll choose. :] Maybe he'll forget all the ones we've thought of and think of a new one :P I don't know if he could, though. We've listed a LOT of names lol
I crave ice cream all the time :P
If my dad was on here he would suggest Mary or Susan :P He loves names like that.
Sorry for the slow replies I was editing the fan-fic. :] I've just about got it.
I definitely think he should tell us the name he chooses. :]
Yaaay! Ice cream!! Yum!
Mary makes me think of black and white movies. :]
Yeah, those are good!
There. :] I'm glad Tom changed his mind. I was actually really sad.
lol Peeeeeeerfect! :D
