Ahem.
Just a brief note to update you on how the work is progressing. So far, every book has been longer than the one before. The first book was about 75,000 words, and Mortal Coil was over 100,000. With Book 6, I'm planning on continuing that trend, but I don't know by how much.
I've been working away at the first section of the story, the first quarter of the book, dipping in an out of scenes and chapters... Even though, officially, I started this book on November 6th, a lot of things have been taking up my time, so I've really only been able to seriously write in the past week. And in the past week I've written almost 20,000 words. That's roughly a fifth of the book, and I've done it in six days.
I am on a ROLL.

There's no trick to this, you just have to decide to stop doing it..! Keep going, keep going forward. When you're finished, you'll realise that the later work is better than the earlier work, because you'll have eased into writing by then, and it won't be as stilted or awkward, and you'll have a better understanding of the world and the characters. So THAT is when you go back and rewrite the early stuff.
Keep finding new things you want to write about. Come up with a great battle or an argument or whatever, something you KNOW you'll enjoy, and focus on that. Maybe then you can stop worrying so much about the other things you wrote.
Hellboy, apparently your fanfiction is pretty good! I'm thinking of taking ten pieces of fanfiction that readers recommend- they'd have to be relatively short pieces- and reading them over the Christmas as a special treat for myself. That includes fanfiction from all over the internet, not just people who read this accursed Blog.
I'll write a dedicated Blog post to this sometime soon, and get people to vote for what they think I should read. Something tells me your name will be on that list.

*ahem* today i went to an Appleseed, which is a weekend long course in rifle marksmanship. Appleseed is a nonprofit organization that teaches the history of the American Revolution
It was about 30f and snowing the entire day long, but i still manged to get down on the cold, wet ground and shoot a 228 score on the AQT. An AQT stands for "Army qualification test" and used to be used by the marines(i think)to train to be better marksmen. The score of 228(which i'm quite proud of) is an above average score and is much better then the qualifying score of 210. An IIT is an "Instructor in training" and there are different levels of IIT, right now I'm an IIT zero, because i just joined the IIT ranks today (we wear neon orange hats). In short, Appleseed is awesome and i love doing it, even if tomorrow i will be so sore i can't move :D
