Good golly.
Do you know what it's like to read 1662 comments in one go? My brain is fuzzy. You people are insane.
I'm home for two days, and then the Irish tour kicks off on Monday. I was meant to get home yesterday, but missed my connecting flight and had to spend the night in Frankfurt, when all I wanted to do was go home and cuddle my doggies...
I'll write a more detailed blog later, but this tour has been amazing. Met so many people, and so many of YOU, my Minions, from both this Blog and the Bebo page, turned up to say hi...
You're all thoroughly weird, of course, but in a good way.

ReplyDeleteYeeeaaaah, now you remember! Did you like my picture? I hope it drills you to work harder for your fans, minions, munchkin army and what else troops you have out there.
My question is: Do you wanna have the photo I made? It looks really funny, like I forced you to do that. And I noticed we look strangely similar. Especially the noses.
To tell the truth, my friend and me had a hard day on friday. We missed two trains, got lost in Hamburg several times and were nearly hit by some bothersome cars. Living in a big city sure is tough. That´s why we arrived half an hour too late. Our feet ached, she was hungry and I was all done and only wanted to meet you at last (really, I said "Wo ist der Sack?!" Sorry for that).
Anyway it turned to a good end. My brother was happy about the autograph on his lighter (He didn´t come with us cause he couldn´t afford the money for the train).
I wanted to save the reading of "Dark Days" for our class trip. Yesterday I wasn´t able to resist the curiousity any more. Finished it today. I liked it, but at some chapters I thought: "This sounds like the story is almost over... but the book still´s got so many pages! What is going to happen that´s worth writing about?" Now I´ll have to think about new lecture for the class trip.
We´ll go to the netherlands. Sailing on the North Sea for about eight days. Sounds like fun, doesn´t it?
Well, I think everybody is now fed up of my talking about me. Sorry, guys!

ReplyDeleteOh lookie here. Derek's back! And yes I am wierd. Very much so, that sometimes it scares me. I don't know how you could read so many comments in one go, but good job! I shall pretend to send you cookies and a barrel of aqua vitae. (It means "water of life" in case you were unaware. It was a beverage of choice in the gluttonus 1600's.) Hopefully that'll help with relaxing after so much signing. (That's the only thing I am seriously considering about being an author. I'm hoping that when my book is finished and published, I refuse to take no for an answer, no one will want my autograph.)

ReplyDeleteI still havent gotten Mortal Coil yet, and I'm avoiding reading the comments section, so, I really dont know what it's like to reas 1662 comments. I would imigine that my brain would be fuzzy had I actually read any of them.
Dark Days still hasnt been released in the US, so maybe when it is you could do a Dark Days tour here. I would go.
The League Homepage and Challenges page wont load on my munchkin army account. bleh. I have completed 2 of the 3 missions though. People say that whenever i draw the Munchkin Army logo, it looks like a stamp. heh heh. I rock.
well, I do hope you choose to visit Texas. Sarah and I could show you around! We live in a nice little place that is comfortable in the winter and unbearable in the summer. You would like it here.

Also, are we going to be seeing Fletcher disappear any time soon? He's like a mosquito--just a pesky annoyance to be batted aside. I really hate how whiny and passive he is and how little chemistry he has with Val. She deserves better.

the only bad thing was the book was too short i couldve read it in a day but i needed something to do the next day.
so over all i love skulduggery but if he dies or vals reflection turns evil i will no longer worship you as a golden god, they would be the worst things to happen to literaturr since mein kampf

It would be so cool to be a vampire. with awesome vision, enhanced speed and strength and being immortal would be so cool. so long as someone was there to be immortal with you, otherwise you just watch as people grow and die around you. that would be boring.

I know you make an effort to read all of your comments, (though I can understand you being daunted at this posts' number- I mean /really/) so when I decided to write a review of Mortal Coil (NO SPOILERS) I thought that, better than inappropriately posting a book review on an unrelated blog, I'd post it here.
First off, I'd like to offer thanks(sarcastically; though not too much venom here) to whoever it was responsible for the 'participating stores' idea- they managed to get many Participating stores in Cornwall, a notoriously under-represented county. However, ALL of these stores were concentrated in such a way that there was no way in heck for me to get a special book.
Luckily, I found a 'local' participating book-store that seemed to be ahead of its rivals in the Ways of The Internets that possessed a websop. So, I'm not /too/ angry. For now. ;)
Secondly, I'd like to (non-sarcasticly) talk about the free watch. It's awesome! Forgive me for getting excited about a free gift, but it glows in the dark. I mean, come on. I hope that you, mister big-shot writer, managed to nab one for yourself.
Thirdly, the book. The book (though not the content yet, I fear). Ever since receiving MC in the post, I have been loudly and enthusiastically informing everyone I meet that my ambition is to /be/ Tom Percival when I grow up (I'm not sure how this will be achieved, but I'll work out a way). Cooing at the morbid and graphic... Graphics, stroking the spine and stirring up my highly-strung, gory-artist friend (She'd get along with Doctor *y*).
As for the content itself... I confess, I read the first chapter (and some Wikipedia spoilers) ahead of time, as I succumbed. Just like last time, in fact. And just like that, I was unimpressed (courtesy of Wikipedia; surely I've learnt my lesson? I think not) until I received the book, that is.
Every twist left me speechless for a moment, and I've spent today alternatively whooping with laughter, crying out "Why?", bemoaning various characters, slamming down the book (Sorry!) among other reactions. As always, the rendering of the characters made my day, and- in what is fast-becoming my SP tradition- I've saved some of my favourite bits by dog-earing the pages (Sorry again! But I hope you're comforted by the fact that this is the only series I do this to).
All I'd like to say is- well done, yet again. Seriously, /well done/. The last page made me do my 'I'm a teen girl but I'll imagine I'm John Green for a moment and do a happy dance' dance.
And my favourite pages were the best bit. The imagery still hasn't left me.
All that's left for me to do is quietly get on with my life, and wait for the next, even more thrilling ( I hope) instalment.
P.S- Although if you dare wait until September again, I will actually not read it. Autumn 2011 is reserved for /Sherlock/, damnit.
P.P.S Oh, and since I know such a long post has got your attention- what is your opinion on the Beeb's Sherlock? Have you seen it? Please tell us in the next post. 'Cus, you're one of the only YA writers I respect the opinion of, and I LOVE it. I think it does the original canon almost total justice.

Oh and Nicolette does it matter if my character is severely overpowered? he will have a weakness i assure you but i dont want his power to be dwindled down... :?

Discription: Brown spikey hair, brown eyes.
Clothes: Normally Jean and T-shirt made by Ghastly Bespoke.
Gender: Male
Veichle: Porsche 911 GT3 RS with flying capabilities.
Magic: Extremely powerful elemental, can put shame to Skulduggery.
Favourite Weapons: Twin Katanas (have I spelled that right?) But also is a master at using guns.
Character: Friendly, likes to talk, can kill virtually every opponent that he meets.
History: Has been known to fight alongside and be in a relationship with Tanith Low, he is friends with most mages in the magical community and those outside. Has not been known to take part in any major battles in Ireland.
Job: Trouble maker.
Likes: Anything that includes fighting, friends, going somewhere different, fighting something huge or powerful and talking.
Dislikes (but does not fear): Zombies, Necromancers, Assassins, Remnants, Faceless Ones, anything dead (especially vampires).
