I have returned!
And just time, it appears. The comments section from the last entry is close to spilling over into our first THOUSAND count... 852 when last I checked. You people are INSANE.
I, on the other hand, am completely normal, and as such I have been going about normal things for the past week. Normal things such as scheduling TV appearances, radio appearances, newspaper interviews, heading over to London to sign 1250 copies of Mortal Coil in two hours, organizing tours and generally making sure everything is running smoothly on the run-up to publication day.
Of course, SOME of you don’t have to WAIT for publication day, do you? There are some of you, apparently, who already HAVE Mortal Coil. Try as we might to ensure that every bookshop releases it on the same day, some of the little scallywags do like to sneak a few copies out ahead of time. And so it is probably wise, at this point, to make a rule about NO SPOILERS in the comments section until, oooh, at least the 10th of September. After the 10th, let’s all agree to label the posts CLEARLY with SPOILER WARNINGS- but even so, try and refrain from being TOO blatant...
Because I know, oh how I know, that there are those of you, out there, who will see a spoiler for the book and you will READ it, despite knowing that you’re going to pick up a copy of your own the very next day...! You just can’t resist it, can you? But you must TRY! Promise me you’ll at least TRY, because I assure you, finding out what happens is much more fun when you read from the BOOK, and not from a spoiler...

(yes, im still going on about this.) because i COULDNT find you..... :*( And now you go on signing books at places I could have easily made it to. That is mean. ReplyDeleteRegarding fanfiction and other stories, my policy is not to read. I don't want to read fanfiction for obvious readings- I don't want it influencing, even unconsciously- the writing of the books, and I don't read other stories because if I start to read ONE person's stories, I'll get sent a hundred, and I simply don't have time. When all the Skulduggery books are written, I plan to take a week off and go and read every story I can find online, and smirk when people get close to the truth...
For those who are planning on coming along to a signing, I will sign whatever you bring with you- time permitting, of course! Bring all the books, we'll have a chat, I'll sign them, we'll go away happy...
And as for why am I not going to Belfast- well, see, I am, but it's a huge school event. The stuff I listed in the blog are the public events that anyone can come to- but there are LOADS of other stuff in between them all that have been organised with schools and book clubs.
For those of you living in the States, I cannot WAIT until I can go and visit you! Unfortunately, we're going to have to hold off until the sales pick up... sorry!
And as for Cork... hmm, good point. Why am I not going to Cork? I don't know, actually. The closest I'm going to get is Limerick! Sorry!

I was your VERY first American fan. I read it THE DAY it came out in America and have been a loyal fan ever since drawing scenes from ever book (wich i think are quite good), laughing or nearly crying depending on what scene it is and writting crossovers because I'm challanged when it comes to creating my own characters and plot lines. You know how you say that you don't know EXACTLY what will happen in each book, just the general plot line, have you ever had to delete a substantial amount or start over since it wasn't going anywhere? do you just sit in front of the computer, with no notes or anything about plot and just type away? or do you outline the plot on paper then fill in the gaps with hilarious and witty conversation? just curious is all... have a nice day!

OMG i pre-order a copy of mortal coil on the computer and then when i went shopping to day i went to a book shop looking for a book to read while i wait for my copy of mortal coil to come and they had it on sale and it was only $13 dollars right i felt like my head was going to explode (but i didn't because it would ruin all the books. i think i would be israel matteus. (love that name)
i think i would be adept, and also i would have a lever-action rifle with embroided designs in a leg-holster. every bullet is pretty much an explosive, but explodes with blue energy. it leaves a trail of blue energy in its wake.
but thats just my weapon. my power would be almost like a seer. i could see the many different possiblities of the next five minutes, and then choose the best one.
eg. confrontation with enemy: i look into the future and see...
a) if i hide, the enemy will not find me, give up, and go away.
b) try to reason with the enemy (depending on what i say, the enemy will leave or stay)
c) i fight the enemy and then get shot. :-\
many more variations, like if he shoots at me, then i'd have the choice of dodging left, right, up, down, or simply taking the shot. then it would be virtually impossible to kill me. ;D
it would almost be like a tree (like a family tree, rlly) with all of the different choices.
Example:
An intruder in my home____

gun knife bed upstairs on foot car

I am

and in my mind it will go through all of these variations, and i can choose the best one at my leisure.

I am quite tired but I am going to read Dark Days for like the millionth time. But I will be on the laptop in the morning sometime, oh wait I get to go to bed at 10 o'clock now oh good, this is going to be my last comment of the night, I getting tired so sorry I miss out a couple of words during comments because my brain get tired it just goes in shutdown mode and slowly turns off. But I am not too tired to read Dark Days again, I am not. Ok maybe I am but I will read it. My eyes are slowly shutting.
