Behold the awesome!
On April 5th, in London, as part of my tour, we are offering a day at the movies, where I will be discussing the many movie influences that have shaped my life and, more specifically, that have shaped the Demon Road trilogy.
We are breaking the day into two halves.
At 1 PM, younger readers, accompanied by an adult, can go to the Picturehouse Cinema in London and experience 80's comedy-horror classic GREMLINS on the big screen...! It'll be my first time seeing it up there too — I've only ever seen this film on TV, so I am HUGELY excited.
Desolation will be available to buy, I'll be doing a Q&A, and signing whatever you have. It's going to be FUN.
And then we'll be repeating the format at 8:30 that night, when we'll be showing the original A Nightmare on Elm Street to a STRICTLY over-18 crowd...!
Again, I was too young to see this in the movies when it came out, and as one of my all time favourite horrors, I can't wait to see this in all its glory.

Naturally, anyone 18 or over can come to both movies and make a day of it — as I will be — but sadly the younger Minions can not savour the delights of Freddy Krueger — at least not until you're older...

Cat: *allows herself to be picked up*
*trusting Alice wouldn't harm her, because that would hurt tresha*

Clocky: *starts wrapping them around WG*
Flauros; what is the appeal?
Alice; *strokes her*

WG: *closes her eyes, curling up*
*the place her feathers were pressed to are charcoal black however they change slightly in different lights, as if she actually has the feathers under her skin*

Flauros: *smiles and pulls her close* you are truly my guardian angel
Alice: *walks her to the lake, her bird on her shoulder *

WG: *swallows, closing her eyes, mentally berating herself*

Tresha: *smiles, leaning against him, closing her eyes*

*author wonders if Michael noticed she's naked*
WG: *winces slightly*

*hasn't really been around people much since his family died, and back then his baby brother used to run around the house basically naked anyway*

Cat: *jumps to the floor, meowing, batting her hand playfully*
Michael: *sets his backpack on the floor, taking out some ziplock bags*

*starts picking some redcurrants*

Alice: wait here *shifts and hovers above the lake*
*dives and catches a big fish *

WG: I'm sorry.
Tresha: *smiles gently, hugging him tightly*
We both know you'll return to heaven.
Cat: *sits at the edge of the water, watching*
Michael: It's cold.
*keeps picking berries*
Clocky: that's okay *smiles*
Flauros: only if you join me *hugs tightly*
Alice: *brings the fish to the cat*
Alys; thank you *puts it on*
WG: *closes her eyes, curling up*
Tresha: *hugs him tightly back*

Cat: *pounces on the fish, starting to eat it quickly*
Michael: You're welcome.
Clocky: it'll be okay..
Flauros: then I'll stay with you
Alice: enjoy!
Alys; *picks more berries*
WG: yeah.. Course..
Tresha: But heaven is your home..?
Cat: *meows happily and continues eating*
Michael: *eats some*
Clocky: *hugs her tightly*

You know, to say I've looked over you your whole life this is the first time I've hugged you. It's.. Strange.

WG: but it wouldn't be fair.
Tresha: Okay, you sort the food, I'll get a basket.
Cat: *Meows, licking her hand*
Michael: *picks some blackberries as well*
*Adra is in the woods , far from home* *She isn't even on Earth* *She is holding a flower in one hand, a knife in the other* *Sets the bud of the flower, and begins to crush the seeds and the petals with the blade of her dagger, not minding that a bit of her blood is mixing with the-*
*Something runs into her, knocking to the ground* *She feels a heavy, heavy, weight on top of her, and tightly grips the dust of the flower in her hand, swinging the dagger at whomever is behind her, stabbing* *There is a grunt as she feels the dagger slice her assailant's shoulder, stunning them long enough for her to bolt* *She lets the ground move faster beneath her, catching her and tossing her further than she may go on sheer foot alone*
*In a few minutes, she is miles away*
*Glances at her hand, seeing that just a little dust remains* *Takes out a vial, and let's the blood on her hand in mix with the dust* *Corks it, and tucks it into her coat*

(*yawns* I'm pooped after running around all day

*She glances around, and will gently set her bag of things down* *She was planning on sleeping before she was attacked by whatever that thing was- but that shouldn't stop her from sleeping again*
*Her stomach rumbles, and she is called back to the fact that, indeed, she will need to feed herself after using so much magic* *She feels around on the ground, since her hands were always more sensitive to speciation, and determined that, a kilometer to the east, there is an apple tree*
*Lifts her bag, swinging it around her shoulders, and will set to walking in that direction; it would be unwise for her to use any more magic, lest she collapse entirely*

*It takes perhaps fifteen minutes for her to walk there, during which time her fingers comb through her hair, and tailor it back into a French braid* *with the length of her hair, it will likely take about that leg to twist it*
*And yet, just as the sun disappears beneath the horizon, she is able to make it to the apple tree* *Dissapointed, however, to see that it has been thoroughly picked* *Reluctantly decides to climb its branches, in the hopes that some still remain near the crown* *Places her knife between her teeth as she shoulders herself up, nimble, and surprised with the ease with which she is able to scale the branches* *It isn't until near the top that they begin to bow beneath her weight, yet she is confident in her abilities* *She can feel the energy of the tree, and, likewise, can feel which branches are sturdy enough to carry her*
*As predicted, there does happen to be apples near the top, and she quickly plucks five from the trees, placing them in her bag* *It mightn't carry any more*
*Finds a leftover croissant in her bag, and, with a grin, takes a bite from it* *She thought that she had eaten them all, and she relishes the buttery and flaky taste in this surprising treat*
*Her eyes then roll back as the pastry falls between her fingers, hitting each branch as it falls to the forest floor* *The weight of her body bends the branch, and it cracks, letting her plummet*
*Yet, her free fall is broken, as vines slip from seemingly nowhere, and circle around her body, slowly lowering her to the floor- and to the feet of her assailant*
*The woman who stares down at her has hair black as a raven, and eyes darker than the deepest blues of the ocean* *Her skin is very, very pale, and hanging around her neck is a small blue stone, near identical to the one around Adra's neck*
*The woman stoops, her hand touching Adra's shoulder, and both disappear*
(That's not good!)

*beside her head lays an item, one that looks a lot like a snow globe*
*within it is a miniature depiction of Atlantis, mist swirling around inside of the globe*
*the word Nixie is carved into the base and on the underside is a large number 16, made up of many different small sigils*

*is rereading posts about Adra's pregnancies and birth to alek*

Flauros; *makes food for picnic*
Tresha: *grabs her guitar, slinging it across her back*
*grabs a basket and blanket, running downstairs*

Ed: *is sat in an empty singular room in a stone tower*
*blue orbs of light appear around him alerting him to such event's*
*his eyes open and he vanishes*
Ed: *appearing at the portal he raises an eyebrow*
*such new things intrigue him*
*witnessing the timer he waves a hand and slows down the time around The portal, he stands catching the sea spray now stuck into the air*
Tresha: *puts the food and blanket in the basket*

Tresha: *runs down the stairs as fast as she can, still dragging Flauros along*

He sort of dipped a bit in season five
It's like he's a graph for the affect of temperature on the rate of an enzyme-controlled reaction
He went up as the enzymes gained kinetic energy and reached his optimum temperature and then the enzymes started to denature and he dipped down a bit
Shhh it's late and I was up till one last night and I just did exercise so my brain is a bit addled

got to season three and I was like "hey this guy is actually pretty awesome"
got to season four and I was like "DUDE THIS GUY IS AWESOME!"
got to season five and I was like "meh you're losing your touch slightly mate"
but I'm only halfway through season five.
And to warn you, the beginning of season three is the most shit season ever, but the end of season three is brilliant so don't give up hope :)

The only reason I say "mate" is because of Hook
