The competition had nothing to do with me or Skulduggery — it was all to do with an educational video game designed to teach you maths and have, you know, actual fun while you do it. Incorporating historically accurate aspects of Native American tribal life and culture, the game was called Spirit Lake, and the competition was to find someone to become a character in it, using your name and likeness. Here's what I said about it at the time:
"And if this works like they hope it will, this could be the beginning of something huge. This could revolutionise teaching, and learning— not just in America but across the world— and it could be just the thing that's needed to help struggling students make that singular, all-important leap. This could change people's lives."
The competition was a great success. I got in some hilarious responses, and also some heartfelt ones, and while it was not easy to pick a winner, a winner I did pick.
And now I'm going to do it all over again.
These same awesome people — people who include the mother and sister of my personal (Twitter) friend, UFC champion Ronda Rousey* — have another game in development, called Forgotten Trail.
SO — if you like the idea of having a video game version of yourself teaching kids maths across America, give me your reasons why. I tend to find characters with a low range of power scope, but a high overall power - i.e. they are powerful in what they can do, but cannot do much - tend to be more manageable than those who can do a lot, and have a high range in possible powers. Characters who can just manipulate time, for example, are generally more manageable than a character who could control time, minds and water.)

(I think the only exception to the "one type of powers" thing I have in terms of my characters is Phaestra and her daughters. She can control life, light and creation. Life just allows her to heal and talk to animals... Light is generally of no use unless fighting Minerve or anything which relies on darkness. Creation generally does not have much combat value, but it is possible to use it as such - Phaestra has crushed Minerve with large boats once or twice. Phaestra does not especially fight that often. She prefers not to.)

That's a good idea. Rather than a role play, stories are better to portray the way you want to.

And that was the point when I made up the entire power system my characters share and all the realms, et cetera. So yes, I do advise writing a story before or during your time role-playing.)

Okay, more detailed explanation.
Lavender can turn into any animal; be it water, land, and also insects. She can't turn into anything extinct(endangered, yeah, but nothing like dinos) or mythical like unicorns, dragons, or phoenixes; and she has to go back into human form before turning into another animal. In a fight, it'd slow her down. But it only takes a second to shift.
She can't stay in one animal form for more than two and a half hours(I think?) or else she'll be stuck as an animal until...(still working on how she turned back last time, backstory wise; didn't get that far)
Oh, and she fights with a bow and arrows, but if she has to get close, she's got daggers hidden in her sleeves. Likes to wear longsleeves due to this.

I'm graduating today. o_o
Oooh, cool! I had promotion today!
It was kinda boring because they had to read out 300 names. After you get called you have to stand and luckily I was near the end so I didn't have to stand forever.
But class was fun and I felt like I ruled the school and my friends and I got gelato after and then went to the park and it was so great!
