Okay, so, the other day I was reding Garrett's roleplay.
the part involving drug dealers.
And it made me think of the last time I thought about drug dealers, which was when Claire said she killed them because they were bad people.
So I would like to take this moment to remind everyone that, in my very filtered school-influenced secondhand experience, which probably counts for very little but even little countings count, drug dealers are often drug addicts themselves, who only sell drugs because it's the only way they can continue buying drugs, and that drug addiction, much like depression, is not something someone can just 'get over.' Drug addicts, ones who are addicted to the point that they will deal drugs due to their addiction, very seriously need help, and whatever foolish mistake they made that got them into drugs in the first place (assuming it was a foolish mistake on their part), we all make stupid bad decisions, and do they have to pay their life for that one stupid bad decision?
Not that dealing drugs is ever okay. Ever. But if someone you know dealed drugs whilst forced to at gunpoint or after being tortured into it, you might not entirely blame them for it. Well, drug dealers who are also addicts who are dealing due to their addiction kind of are forced at gunpoint or tortured into it, except their addiction is the thing threatening to kill/torture them.
I'm not trying to have a go at either Gar or Jai - Gar's roleplay just reminded me of something a charater of Jai's said, and Jai's good at characterisation and at separating her character's actions to her own - I just thought I'd mention it.
And that is my Star rant of the day. :)

(Star - It is perfectly fine. Claire is an individual who has a rather unhealthy obsession with revenge. Justice is a form of revenge - but she goes beyond what would normally be considered fair, to the point of killing all drug dealers regardless of their reasons behind it. She was originally trained as an assassin - so will have the mentality of one. Being a vigilante was her decision based on what she thought was right - because the police never managed to find the person who killed her mother and father. So she, in effect, decided to provide a service for those who have been "let down" by the police - she attempts to help those who will have their lives ruined by drug dealers by murdering every single one she comes across. She attempts to help the family of people who will be killed by assassins by murdering every assassin she comes across. She attempts to help those who have been, and would be affected by burglary by murdering every thief she comes across. She is a very morally questionable individual, but I believe her heart is in the right place - just not her head.)

You like her when she is evil, correct? She changed to become nicer, but she attempted to be evil again - for you - despite the affect on her. Whilst you were gone, she stabbed herself through the hand. She cut and skinned part of her leg. She cut her fingertips and cut herself underneath her arm - so she was able to cope with what she was doing - for you. I do not agree with her actions, and I understand that you are upset with her - but she was only attempting to be kind to you.
