Hey, Jai and Star-Bubble.

OMAM was a good read. Or two. Or five. Poor rabbits. Got nobody left to pet 'em.

Of Mice and Men.
*rocks back and forth*
*cries*

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

Btw, not to ruin the mood or anything, but the property they were seeking to buy was likely in the dust bowl, so they wouldn't have ended up buying it anyway. Their dream of that property was hopeless and they'd never have achieved it anyway.

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

(If none of them have the dream they fall into depression.

All them other ranch workers, the ones with no dream, they waste their money at the whorehouse, come back an earn their money then go back to the whorehouse.)

Star Inkbright said...

@Sophia: Yup. :) I can make all kinds of points. Just not necessariy the points I want to make.

@Kas: :)

Star Inkbright said...

OH MY GOSH I'M TRYING TO TALK ABOUT OF MICE AND MEN WITH YOU BUT MY MUM KEEPS CALLING ME AND I'M LIKE "WHY LEAVE ME ALONE"

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(I do not know whether the book is making a statement about women or objectifying women, but every female mentioned in the book is either a prostitute or a trophy wife.)

Phaestra: I am not so sure myself. *her hands glow white and she forms a dress for Onwa, handing it to her*

Star Inkbright said...

@Jai: Yeah. That's my point. That it's better for them to have the dream than not.
I can kind of make that with Crooks, tbh. But I really shoudl only be doing this on the spot in the space of forty minutes, so. XD

@Kas: Pessimistic. :P
I, personally, am optimistic, and I think it's better to hope and dream than for your life to have no meaning.

Star Inkbright said...

@Sophia: Well, coz we're studying it in English, we have to say that everything is intentional, and therefore I would analyse it as a statement.

Star Inkbright said...

Also, you missed Aunt Clara. :P

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(I disagree. Given the time John Steinbeck operated, it is more likely to be unintentionally mirroring the opinions of the time.)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(I actually do not see how their dreams could be considered a good thing. They were their motivations, which made them want to earn money, so they went to the ranch - which resulted in the deaths of two people.)

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

Onwa: *takes the dress, allowing the shadows to thin slightly so the dress will fit before dissipating them as she pulls the dress on*
Thank you.

@Sophia: Well, you're a realistic - more so than me, anyway.

I could rant about this, but I don't have the time rn. Remind me when I next comment. :)

Star Inkbright said...

@Sophia's other comment: Yeah. Sir said it was debateable whether he was actually sexist or not.

You wrote BORING not ENNUYEUX you moron!)

Star Inkbright said...

Oh my gosh I have such a tendency to go off on tangents.

Star Inkbright said...

I'm crying on my English book again.

Star Inkbright said...

That's it.
I said that because of the positive emotion the dream brought them, it arguably gave them enough positive emotion to make having it worthwhile.
That'll do.
I am liking this essay. This is a fun essay.

Star Inkbright said...

@Sophia: But I think that it's better to have had the dream and all that than to have gone along being depressed. Everyone dies, but some people never live.

Star Inkbright said...

fuck.
i keep forgetting to comment on steinbeck's purpose.
maybe it's coz he has no purpose. i'm of the opinion he just wrote the book to kind of write it, y'know. or at least to show people what it was like to be a migrant worker. whereas priestley, priestley has a political agenda and all that shit.

Star Inkbright said...

Idk. Do you guys prefer it when I hate English and spam you with how stupid GCSE English is, or do you prefer it when I like it and spam you ranting about Of Mice and Men . . . ?
Either way you get spammed but still. :P

(I am depressed, but rather glad that Dragona does not have to go to college today.)

Star Inkbright said...

(Not going into college ia good. :)

I've not been in school all this week, but I'm ill enough that I wouldn't be even of school were on, so . . .)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(I hope you get better soon, Star.)

Star Inkbright said...

Me too. :) I think I'm slowly getting betterer. :)
Thank you. :)

I might be able to

but given how prone I am to dosappearance, I can't guqrantee that. :P

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(I'm bad at multitasking; I tend to get absorbed in a task . . .)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(I am not bad at multitasking, but I am not good, either. Regardless, I disagree with the concept - it is better to do one job correctly, rather than two badly.)

Star Inkbright said...

Yeah, I agree. But I feel guiltier for abandoning people I'm conversing with than I do about completing schoolwork badly. :P

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

Hey, Star and Soph!

@Star How are you feeling today?

@Soph How's your day going? Doing anything fun at home?

Star Inkbright said...

Hi Kas. :)

And, better than I was yesterday, thanks. :) You?

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

That's good! :)

And I'm doing okay.

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

Still lonely though.

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(I am spending the day baking and watching films - Kick-Ass, Die Hard and now Fast and Furious.)

Star Inkbright said...

@Kas: :(

@Sophia: :) Yay. :)

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

It's okay.

@Soph I recommend God Bless America. It's like a less Goofy version of Kick-Ass.

But idk what you're watching it on, Netflix? Idk if it's on Netflix.

Anyways... which Fast and Furious are you watching?

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

*hugs Star* :)

Star Inkbright said...

@Kas: :) *hugs back*

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(DVD, not Netflix.

The sixth one - with the impossibly long runway.)

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

New pic!

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

Ah, then my recommendation is useless.

And you know, that runway may have been unrealistic, but it's probably the best fusion of driving and fighting in the series.

Shame about Paul Walker :/

Star Inkbright said...

:) Pretty bird.

Star Inkbright said...

Well . . . I'm sat here watching CBBC. XD

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

Hehe!

Also browsing the internet...

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(The runway must easily be about fifteen miles long - nothing can warrant that.)

Star Inkbright said...

Can if you want. I have issue with needless insulting, not the offering of opinions.

Star Inkbright said...

*that's me personally

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

@Soph But it was fun. It really was a great moment in the series.

Like, it was about 15 minutes long, and that's a good amount of time.

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

@Star Then rejoice! Zayn is back!

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(It looked good, yes. But planes land at what, a hundred and fifty miles per hour? - For fifteen minutes, it was landing and then attempted to take off again. Fifteen minutes at a hundred and fifty miles per hour - and more to take off again. Who thought that was a good idea?)

Star Inkbright said...

(I think he might have been happier if he'd stayed left.)

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

@Soph that's the thing though, it was fun. It's something you wouldn't see in other films because nobody's stupid enough to have a plane take off for 15 minutes. But this film did it, and it was fun. It was a good ending.

@Star That's a crappy April Fool's. I apologise.

I woke up this morning and decided

OMG I wanna do a masquerade ball where we all impersonate characters or historical figures not usually associated with us. O_O

So I set up a blog for it and then realized

Wait... What if no one is actually as excited about this as I am and they don't want to do something on a separate blog and they don't want to bother finding characters/people to impersonate and they don't want to change their profiles or use the prove you're not a robot (which you have to do if you're commenting with a name/URL instead of an account, otherwise it actually won't post the comment) and so I decided to comment here and see if anyone else is actually interested or if I should just not bother.

(Sorry if some effort towards a coordinated event of some sort is already in progress. I haven't read through all of the comments.)

Mary Contrary said...

That is GREAT idea :0

I'd be up for that!
Or at least to try it. I still don't know how to rp. :P
Only, don't have a lot of time atm on account of studying.

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

Onwa: why?

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

Liliana: Because it is better for both of us? Or at least, I think it is.

Dura - part of the brain. Addebant - heightened..

John, are you reading the manga?

After the tartarus arc, Fairy Tail disbanded and they all went their separate ways. Natsu and Happy left Lucy a note saying they were leaving for a year to train. They just left her behind... She burst out crying because she just lost Aquarius and then they leave her too?
A year later, Lucy is a reporter at the Grand Magic Games. Natsu comes back and wrecks the Grand Magic Games, gets put in prison but Princess E Fiore bails him out. Lucy tells him what happened and that the master had been missing for a year. Natsu freaked out and then they go off and try and find everyone in Fairy Tail again. Wendy is part of Lamia Scale and does a song with Chelia and their known as the sky sisters. Wendy doesn't want to leave chelia but she does then they find Juvia. In Raintown. Where just this one town is covered in a rain cloud. Juvia is sitting on a bench, She hallucinates Gray coming back to her. Then she collapses. It turns out she's been sitting on that bench waiting for him to come back for 6 months. They lived together, trained together every day then he started going out on his own every day then he didn't come back. She caught a fever and is really ill. Gray has become evil, taken over by the darkness of his demonslaying magic.
gajeel and Lily have joined the magic counsil. I swear to god if Gajeel has left levy on her own too I'm going to burst out crying again. That's two of my ships left their partner alone. I'm so pissed off. But at least Lucy got a note...

(Is this situation not a little pointless? No matter how much John complains/thinks/reminisces about Gemma - it will never serve any purpose other than to dig himself deeper into a pit of despair, which is somewhat counter-productive. And Keiron, no matter how much you talk sense - it is unlikely to change what he thinks.)

I don't expect you to understand fully as we don't really know each other, but moving on would do nothing for me.

And is that really your outlook? Everyone does it so it must be fine?

Despair, Sophia? I'm by no means happy with life in general, but "despair" is a bit overkill.
