This time next week, many of you will have the final book in your hands. Most of you will be reading it. Some of you will be finished it.
I am so utterly delighted with the book and how it turned out — I really think it's the best one of the series — and so I am thrilled with the trailer that artist extraordinaire Tom Percival has come up with.

You have no medical equiptment. What do you do?)

(The holographic blades I describe are actually the result of a mini-fabricator unit inside the computer systems called Omni-tools some of my characters use. The fabricator can be used to create simple three dimensional objects using materials or elements around the user. In this case, a blade is fashioned which is very strong and very sharp.)

I guess you should try using some piece of clothing to close the wound if you care about the guy, though... oh, right, and also get rid of those clothes. They drag you down. And the ones without floats hang on to the ones with... why, though?)

*throws the alcohol all over Silente's burned skin, without much of a warning*
*changes to eagle and flies up*

Sophia: Then back down and walk away.

*Roland came in from the balcony after stretching his wings again.*
Roland: I am not sure if Marrok's leg would be up for an outing. But I am sure you and Ariana could enjoy the lake at the bottom of the house. I will make a picnic for you.
Ashlea: *runs with her, weaving through trees and focusing on not falling*
*taps the sigils on her collar bones and launches into the air, blur wings springing from her back*
Sophia: *slams her back into the ground with her energy, shooting at her with her machine gun whilst doing so*
*changes to cat and drops, quickly*
(Yey! The sharks back! It's following them..)
*changes back to eagle and stops circling - after all bullets fly well*
*follows Ashlea and Leri*
*yells and cries out when she hits the ground*
*gets up, leaving scorch marks where her wings touched*

*She pursed her lips and glanced back at Ariana. She needed Roland with her. Something was going to go wrong, she could feel it.
She picked up Ariana and carried her to where Roland was. She smiled up at him, but it wavered*
Would you be able to see us from the lake?
Sophia: You think you can escape? *lifts her up and slams her back down into the ground again* Think again, asshole.
*continues running with Ashlea*
(They're in the sea. Only one remains now.The end.)
(Oh. That was based on real life...I feel bad now...)
*cries out again*

Ashlea: *winces, thinking of what's probably happening back there* *tugs on Leri's hand* we can't....

*stays an eagle when she reaches Ashlea and Leri, cause she'd be slower than them as a human*
Sophia: Why should I? What possible reason could you think of for me to let you live?
*suspends her in the air*

Ashlea: She...Sophia...Aquila...someone going to get hurt....we can't just run....
*He smiled gently back at her and touched her cheek. Marrok was sitting on the blanket by the fire, wagging his tail.*

*She rested her head against his palm an nodded*

*She pushed herself up on her tiptoes to kiss his gently. Then she pulled away, walking into the kitchen. She sat Ariana down in her high chair and started to pull out various foods, mainly bananas, seeing as it was a good that they both enjoyed*
Ashlea: *jumps when she changes to human* what's happening...?
Sophia: You expect me to help you? *puts away her machine gun and draws her pistol instead* You killed hundreds of innocent people. I warned you. *aims her pistol at her*
... Ashlea... I... We can't do anything... We'd just get hurt... Please... I just want to be safe... I'm so scared...
*Ariana sat in the chair, happily watching Rose while she was chewing on her fist.
Roland came in behind Rose to help.*
Roland: You can try her with different things now. See how she chews her fist, I had read that action indicates that teeth are about to crown so she should be ready for different food experiences.
Plus you need to eat various things for yourself, not just bananas.
*closes her eyes*
*whispers* Don't....
Ashlea: Don't be sacred Leri...but...we...we should...I mean...*looks torn*
Ashlea, the two of you are waaay less violent than me. .. and I don't get to call people that often.
I don't think it'd be good if you went back there. You'd not only probably be unable to help - people might get hurt trying to protect you, too.
... Aquila is right... I know it's the right thing to do but... We... We'll just get hurt... I couldn't stand losing you... *sobs*
Assassin: A lesson has been learned. *appears beside Sophia* There is no need to take this further.
Ashlea: *nods and hugs Leri, hiding her face*
*opens one eye and looks at the assassin and Sophia*

*She rolled her eyes at Roland*

*She leaped towards the fridge and looked through its contents quickly. She stood up, victorious, with a punnet of strawberries in her hands*
She better like these. I will eat them if she doesn't...
*Roland sighed as he shooed Rose and Ariana out of the kitchen.*
Roland: You wait with Marrok, I shall make your picnic.
*Marrok was still lying on the blanket, his tail wagging furiously left and right.*
*hugs Ashlea back* ... I... I love you... *cries quietly*
Assassin: She knows I am speaking the truth when I warned her.
*walks to the floating Silente, holding a needle full of a clear liquid* *injects it into her neck* This will put her to sleep for one day. I will be able to help her from there.
Sophia: *sighs* Just don't make me regret this.
Fine. Get the woman out of the kitchen...
*She took Ariana and walked back to the living room, grinning at Marrok*
Hey buddy! You're a friendly little tike, aren't ya? Yes you are!
*She patted her thigh, trying to get Marrok to come sit by the sofa, where she was sitting*
... so, that's it, hm?
*watches the Assassin and Sophia*
*Ariana squealed excitingly as Marrok limped over towards Rose and sat at her feet, his tail still wagging.*
Ashlea: Ler..don't cry...please...*hugs her tightly* I love you too....
*grits her teeth at the needle*

*blinks against suddenly heavy eyelids*
No...won't sleep...won't sleep....
*glares at the assassin behind half closed lids*
*She kissed Marrok's head and rubbed his ears. Then she took Ariana's hand in hers and patted the cub with it*
I hope your mother isn't anywhere nearby... That could be disastrous...

Sophia: If she goes on another rampage, it will be your responsibility. It will be you I throw around, not her.
Assassin: Remember who trained you when you became a Spectre.
Sophia: Remember who kicked your ass before training had even begun.

Ashlea: *sits with Leri* I know....maybe what James did was bad...I know that if he hadn't..I wouldn't be me but...but she wouldn't be that then...
*cuddles Ashlea* *curls up a little, sobbing* ... You... You're the best thing ever to happen to me... James did what he did with bad intentions but... You were the result and...

We went to the book store to see if they have/ will have Skulduggery Pleasant because then I wouldn't have to pay for shipping (we're in Canada and it comes out at the same time as UK) but the book store didn't have it and they couldn't special order it.
