I cannot BELIEVE they've let me use that title!
Ladies and gentlemen, the collection I've been promising you, the book that scoops up all those little short stories and provides you with some brand new ones, has been unleashed. There won't be a Spoiler Zone post because it's not one of the "book" books, but even so, try to limit the amount you give away about the endings.
Of the new stories included, I'm finding it hard to pick a favourite. The Horror Writers' Halloween Ball is the most out-and-out comedy of the lot, but Across A Dark Plain is a WESTERN, for god's sake, and it was SO much fun changing my writing style slightly to convey that mood.
But I think Get Thee Behind Me, Bubba Moon is probably my favourite. Much like The End of the World (which is also collected here), it's told from the point of view of an outsider, in this case a middle-aged American man. I didn't mean it to be quite so long, but it grew from a short story to a novella before I knew what was happening. The tone of this one is different, too — until a certain pair of intrepid detectives wander in with their bickering and their jokes...
Anyway, I hope you like it. I hope you ALSO like the sample chapter from The Dying of the Light. It is VERY well written, if I do say so myself.
Oh, and speaking of TDOTL, tomorrow I shall be revealing an awesomely cool limited edition alternative cover.

(Ah. Telling you might help. Well she's really 133 year old vampire. Both her parents are dead. However she's lost her memories. She's gone back to being 11, so her parents are alive in her memory and she's not a vamp in her memory.)

And who is to say that she'll ever realise it? We don't know what's wrong with her! It could be permanent! She's ill! Ill people need to be looked after, not told that what they thought of the world isn't true!

Maybe it is me that doesn't understand. Maybe humans and Asgardians see things differently. But where I come from, when we see a scared, lonely, young girl who wants her parents - we protect them. We don't hurt them. We don't make them run off. We comfort them as best we can until they're old enough to deal with it.
Come on, Zanida. Leri is not worth our time.

Can I just point out how many real life issues are in this? I'd like all of you to think about that for a moment.
This is a really good roleplay and thank you, all of you, for bringing this to life. Especially Silente, of course. :)

*activates holographic computer and fires a mass of supercooled particles back to counter the fire* *sprints away from Zanida*
*combat drone starts firing missiles at Zanida*
Zanida: *ducks away and keeps running after Leri*
*three pints of cider later*
Bartender: So whats up buttercup?
*hiccup*
Inky: lifes a bitch. cant do anything right
*sighs after finishes current pint*

*spins and fires a high explosive plasma round at Zanida, then continues running*
Zanida: *uses her own flame to counteract, and still runs*
*sings karaoke to 'help' by the beatles*
*reaches where Silente is and slides to a stop* *quickly sits down next to her and takes cover behind a tree, readying her shotgun*

(Have I ever actually said, at anytime in the past, how they died? I mean, I know in my head how they died. I have done for ages. But have I actually said how before?)

Silente, just do not let it change you. They may be dead, but it doesn't mean they have to be forgotten. They wouldn't want you to be like this. No parent would want their child to feel like this.
