Typical.
I just wrote out a ded on my laptop. But it's not connecting to the internet.
So this was going to be a video ded, but it was too long. And then it was going to be a normal ded, but I couldn’t find the right time to post it. So now it’s this.
In 2011 I found Derek Landy’s blog. And I was ecstatic. I’d been a fan of the series since 2009, but I’d never found the blog. And so when I found it, I was… overjoyed. Because it gave me something to do. Something to do in may spare time and when I needed something to do to take my mind off of things. So, I started reading through the posts. And at first that was all I did. Read the posts, check for updates. I didn’t even make an account.
And then, one day, I was up to date with all the posts and I had nothing to do. So, I decided on a whim to read through some of the comments. And before I knew it, I found myself doing so more and more often. It became a habit, to check for posts and then read the comments. I didn’t say anything, still didn’t have an account, just ghosted. I watched as roleplaying and writing and just simple conversations happened, and I smiled.
When I eventually did make an account, in late 2012, I was nervous to say the least. I didn’t know if you’d accept me. Of course, I should have known better. But… I was still afraid of rejection, like everywhere else.
So when I commented, and Missy and Lav (the only two on at the time) instantly welcomed me and hugged me and talked to me, I… I felt loved. And I couldn’t stop smiling and laughing.
As time went on, I met more and more people, and my name was slowly changed from Lonleysnow, to Snowy, to Snow, to Snow Stormberg. And it honestly suits me so much more.
Blogland has shaped me, made me who I am. If it wasn’t for Blogland, I know I wouldn’t be nearly as funny, confident or happy as I am today. It’s because of Blogland and it’s people that I have been able to get through some great times and some… not so great times.
Recently, my gran died. She was my only grandparent left. And when I found out, the first thing I did was get on Blogland. And I was instantly hugged and people started taking my mind off of it, getting me laughing again. And If I’m being honest, Blogland helped me more than anyone else in “real life”. Because on Blogland, people made me laughed, cheered me up, gave me virtual hags. But in real life? The most I got was an awkward sideways friend from a not-so-close friend. And that… kinda stung. But it also made me realize how important Blogland is to me.
So this is my thank you. Not just to the people I’m about to mention, but to everyone, for making me feel… needed.

I just want to mention the fact that, if the Skulduggery movie happens (and is done right,) then it will be a fantastic action movie, along the lines of the Avengers, as well as being a dark comedy with great writing.
I want to clarify that it will be an EPIC ACTION MOVIE, and Derek will almost certainly be heavily involved.
You know what that means?
It means strong female action heroes, who aren't over-sexualized and wearing unrealistic outfits. It means strong women who are badass at what they do. It means an action movie with women done RIGHT.
And that is an awesome prospect.
