*Looks at Snow's comment* the aftershocks were the worst. And New Zealand is such a tiny country- our population is only around four million. Everyone knows everyone. When the news of the second earthquake came out, we were all in class and everyone started going, "I hope so-and-so's okay," "I have a friend/auntie/sister/brother/grandparent/parent/cousin down there."
No-one died in the first shake, so we though everyone would be okay. It was so horrible, seeing the way it affected all of us in so many ways.
