Oooh FUN!
My editor has read the first (rough) draft of Book 9, and he loves it. I'm on the home stretch now — the end is in sight (in more ways than one). Over the next two or three weeks my head is going to be down and I'm going to working hard to fill in those gaps, to link up those scenes, to write those missing chapters. Right now I'm at 100,000 words. The end result will PROBABLY be about 120,000 words — maybe just slightly shorter than KOTW. Of course, in order to finish the book, I'll need to pick a winner of the Who Gets to Die competition we ran ages ago, and then that lucky reader will get to meet their grisly end...
And because I, and therefore WE, are on the home stretch, this blog is going to be choc-a-block with announcements and reveals over the next few weeks. By the end of THIS week, for example, we'll be revealing the cover for the Armageddon-Outta-Here short story collection. Next week, we'll reveal the full, WRAPAROUND cover for the collection (it's awesome). And the week after that? We'll be revealing the title for the ninth, and last, Skulduggery Pleasant book.

Bye then Rueben. Go get your beauty sleep!
Okay just chat then. No I've missed both of the hobbit movies :(
*gasps in indignation*
*flicks Silente*
Dishonor on you! Dishonor on your cow!
Ow!
*flicks annika back*
I had no money! I couldn't and till can't afford!
*sighs*
I suppose that makes sense.
. . .
*flicks Silente again*
Ah! I've got to go! The delivery guys are here!
Apologies! Farewell!
*leaves*
Bye then!
*flicks annika one last time*
All by myself.
*sighs*
Yey.
*stumbles into the room, wearing tattered clothes*
*she is covered in grime and her eyes are squeezed firmly shut*
*falls to her knees in the middle of the room*
*the lights around her turn out, besides one spotlight above her head*
*her bloodshot eyes suddenly snap open and she looks right at you*
*whispers* hi
i have been to a land most magical.
*her eyes flicker to the right, but she's not looking at anything in particular*
*distantly* and it has changed me.
a land of sharp tongues and clever puns
where the people are kind, those fake faces
a land of depression masked as laughter
one of the most magical of places
where the people buzz and shine like fireflies
and the women dress like men while the men dress in drag
where power slips through your fingers like water
and there's never a single flag
alas! i'm afraid i must leave you now
and return to my home this afternoon
but i won't hold my breath--all things end--
i think i shall see you very soon
because sweet turns to bitter and sweet turns to sour
i should run back here within a few hours
i think i shall see you very soon.
(((The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.)))
*she sprouts her large, white wings*
*rises above the ground*
*and disappears*
*a little note floats down that says: I know that whole thing makes no sense, but I am referencing something very particular, so you can all forget about it and go on with your day*
*sighs*
I knew it. I come on and no one's there.
Destiny.
Gotta go...
Bye.
Just missed her. Again.
Hello! :)
#ChaseForBookNine
Star i'll be back in 2 hours, I have a really bad headache, I'm gonna take a nap.
OKay, Chione. :)
*hugs*
I hope it goes away soon . .
#ChaseForBookNine
Headaches, grime, and bloodshot eyes. Pity that I missed it. Assuming, of course, that my absence was unintentional.
. . .
*backs away slowly*
#ChaseForBookNine
Back as far away as you like, as long as I can still see the fear in your eyes. I quite liked your comparison of me to a nightmare.
Um.
Thanks.
*sits down at a backed-away distance and carries on looking at him, showing him my eyes and the fear in them, because hey, cooperation keeps you alive*
#ChaseForBookNine
Hello, Dragona.
*doesn't move*
#ChaseForBookNine
*draws sword, just in case*
So... what's happening?
Alastair's here.
Alastair's here.
Like, THAT Alastair. O_O
*still not moving*
#ChaseForBookNine
*keeps his sword drawn*
I presume that's bad?
Star :P calm down
Alice is here now omg
Jeez I have had the gitters the entire day. Alastair is back. The Alastair...oh good god up in heaven.
You can put the sword away, Dagona- it'll do you no good. Although, on second thought, perhaps you should keep it drawn anyway; your discomfort is quite amusing.
It's like the good old days.
Now.
*Leaves*
H-hello Alastair. (Not that you care Alice but to Ari if I am distant im at drama ill be here just distant)
*spins his sword in his hand*
What part of having a sword makes you assume I'm in discomfort?
@Dragona: WELL NO SHIT SHERLOCK.
(Sorry for poofing, dinner.)
*still not moving*
@Adra: I am calm.
Look
sitting down
calm.
*nods calmly*
Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalm.
#ChaseForBookNine
(You sound like it Star)
If you were wise, you'd be in discomfort. Drawing your sword when faced with a potential threat is indicative of wisdom. But your point is fair- I may well have overestimated you.
(Of course I sound like it. I am the master of sounding like it.
. . .
*nods like that made sense*)
*nods at what Alastair just said* See? I'm wise.
#ChaseForBookNine
Sure, Star :P
*Watches the two from the side, being sure to stay way back*
Aro: Hello Alastair
Are you wise, or are you calm? Discomfort is one thing, but to remain in close proximity to someone who might wring your neck on a whim is another thing entirely.
Sure as sure, Starstar. :)
I mean, Adra.
@Alastair: It is.
Um.
I'm wise, I think.
I don't know. I'm not really very wise.
#ChaseForBookNine
Oh, you must be another of Zafira's kids. What are you, the 12th? 20th? Have you been tortured in a war yet? It seems to be a tradition in your family, so if you haven't, I'd be happy to arrange it. And if you have, I guarantee that I can make it worse.
*Whispers to Star* He's such a drama queen.
I am both calm and wise. Only an idiot would get discomforted in combat. You panic, you die. Being calm allows you to concentrate.
Hey guys...yeah my nap didn't go too well, I've been sick ;_;
Aro: I'm here firstborn, Alastair. I'm a Sense-Warden and actually am amazed at what you did to her. I am not here to make you my enemy. I respect your power.
Oh, Adra, you know me too well. I understand you're starting a family of your own. How kind of you.
@Adra: *whispers back* Surely he's a drama king?
Hey, Chi!
*waves* *doesn't look away from Alastair*
#ChaseForBookNine
*Winks* That I do, hon. And I am, thanks. Her name's Cara, and she is absolutely gorgeous.
*Drinks a bit of wine*
*For the first time in ever*
*Whispers to Star*
Imagine a drama drag Queen.
*pictures it*
*Laughs*
@Adra: I don't know.
I don't think Alastair will appreciate me imagining that. :P
#ChaseForBookNine
*walks in, hanging to the shadows*
*watches the others for a while*
*says quietly * hello.
*moves so she is in a new place and cannot be traced as the source of the sound*
Screw what he thinks, Star. It's funny
((Hey Silente))
@Adra: HE'S A MURDEROUS SADIST I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW.
Hello, Silente. :)
*still not moving*
You're awesome, btw. I decided I needed to tell you when you next came on.
#ChaseForBooknine
((Hey chio! Sorry my internet connect on isn't very good. I'm sorry to hear about you begin ill. Hope you get better soon!))
((Er...thanks? Why exactly am I awesome? Not that I'm complaining its just...yeah. Also hey.))
What kind of powers does Alistair have?
Of course, Star. That's the fun part.
Ah.
Now
.
*must poof*
*Does so*
(I don't know, Silente. O_O WHy ARE you awesome? It's a question similar to ones I ponder frequently. Why are awesome people awesome? Why am I indestructible? Why is Annika evil?)
@Dragona: He's one of Niccolò's true names that he stole.
So he has 47 separate disciplines, and most of them are pretty powerful - he was selective with his choice.
@Adra: *would facepalm, but I'm still not moving*
#ChaseForBookNine
Kay, Adra. :/
#ChaseForBookNine
*steps forward slightly from the shadows*
*still hidden but slightly less so *
Who is this Alistair you speak of and why does he have star frozen with fear?
*moves so the sound cannot be traced*
(Has anyone read a book series called Zom-B by Darren Shan?
I've just finished the second book and they're pretty damn awesome.)
#ChaseForBookNine
Star, I've read the first one. Didn't want to read the second. As far as zombie books go, it was too short, too bad and didn't make much sense. ^^ Darren Shan used to be one of my favourite authors until I read that. ^^
((Okay then star that definatly answers my awesomeness question.))
@Silente: *sighs*
Okay. Niccolò Niccolò Niccolò. He has the discipline of stealing true names. The first name he stole was Alastair's, a murderous sadist, and his personality took over and he basically controlled Niccolò's body for quite a time. Mostly, Niccolò is himself these days but every now and again a name takes over. When you steal a true name, you essentially kill a person and also steal their magic. As such, Niccolò has lots of different disciplines and is very close to all-powerful, and so are any names that take over.
The disadvantages of this are . . . well, the main one is that he has dozens of people in his head, and they're constantly screaming, all the time. It's even worse when you are just a name, and you're nothing, just blackness, and screaming, and you scream as well. If you stop screaming, stop resisting, you'll fade.
. . .
Yeah.
Anyway. Alastair = murderous sadist who is pretty much all-powerful.
#ChaseForBookNine
So I'm guessing he's someone you wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of them. Or rather that a sane person wouldn't want to get on the wrong side on.
*rubs hands together and smiles*
Interesting...
*focuses*
Well he seems to have poofed for now so I think its safe to move.
@Dragona: You're kidding? O_O It was awesome.
And Darren Shan does short books, it's his way. :P He doesn't completely finish the book, just leaves it open for the next, so you kind of have to read several books in order to read one book.
Then again, I don't read zombie books to read zombie books. I just had a rant today about how I don't read violent books because they're violent, I read them because they're good books, and if they're just violent and aren't actually good books I don't like them.
And I'm sorry, but that was a good book.
And I don't care whether or not it was a zombie book.
Such things are irrelevant to me.
And it will make sense if you read on in the series, I imagine. Like I said, that's just Darren Shan. :P
#ChaseForBookNine
@Silente: Possibly.
*still not moving* *doesn't dare*
#ChaseForBookNine
*darts out of the shadow to nudge star*
*darts back into them*
*watches to see if anything will happen*
(Plus, I'm sorry . . . D: Natural arguing urges. I'm not annoyed. :))
And that's why I didn't like The Enemy. It was probably fine as a zombie book, but it just wasn't complex enough for me.
And maybe some people like The Enemy because it was dramatic and apparently Gone isn't fast paced enough
but Gone is just a heck of a fantastically brilliant book series and maybe I read violent books and listen to violent music and watch violent TV shows (well, a violent TV show. But that's a very high percentage of violent TV shows seeing as how I watch pretty much nothing), but that isn't because I like violence, it's because I like awesomeness, and sometimes they come hand in hand as far as things like stories go, but sometimes they don't.
(Sorry, I'm really just ranting for myself, not for anyone else. D:)
#ChaseForBookNine
. . .
*gives Silente a confused lookU
#ChaseForBookNine
The plot made no sense. The characters were kind of silly (not in a kind of way where you wanted them to be less silly as you got involved in the story - the point where you can't relate to them at all).
I didn't think the main character was very well developed.
For me, they were REALLY bad in comparison to the starting books of some of his other series'. Cirque Du Freak was a great start but even better was Lord Loss. Lord Loss and the Demonata series in general is still one of my favourite series of all time.
My favourite books on the topic of zombies are by Charlie Higson. The series starts with The Enemy.
For me, Zom-B was a disappointing start. In all of his other series you got to know the characters and a bit of the world by the end of the first book. However, the characters and the world developed more and more as the series reached their end. I just didn't like it. It just seemed a bad quality in comparison to his other works.
*moves around in the shadows*
See he's not here. Its cool. You can move.
*continues stalking the shadows*
I agree, the plot of The Enemy isn't very complex. But it doesn't have to be. You got a feeling for the setting right away whereas Zom-B didn't do that, in my opinion.
As for Gone, I liked the series... but it got less and less kind of believable as it went on. It got more and more ridiculous. However, I did like the characters and the idea of it.
I just thought The Enemy was fairly shit, to be perfectly honest.
I was probably a bit harsh on it, but you know - *shrugs*
It was just really a kids' book with zombies in it. That's what I thought at the time and it seemed quite valid when I look at my memories.
Zom-B may have been a bit . . . simple . . . in some ways, but you know - racism.
I liked that part. :)
And I like the idea that -
well, I like the thought that you know . . . I liked how it related to the Nazis, and when you're inside B's head, you kind of do get it, you do kind of understand why people went along with the Nazi's, and -
and that was just fantastic.
" 'I hate him'
But he's my dad . . ."
*nods at the noddering-y-ness of that*
And you know, when she did what it was, at the end, Tyler, you know . . .
It just -
instincts.
My mum has always said that if you act confident, you become confident.
Derek says that if you act arrogant, you become arrogant.
If you act like a bulling racist, you become a bullying racist.
And that's just one of the things that will stick with me, in my mind, and I will grow as a person slightly from reading that book.
*shrugs*
You couldn't get to know the characters because there weren't really any, which kind of could have been a flaw in itself, but. :P
And I think one of the points might be that you don't know the world, it's a mystery, it's O_O
But I will give you the one on you not knowing the world - nothing had really developed much. :P
*looks at Silente susupiciouls8 *carries on not moving :P*
#ChaseForBookNine
You go in for settings and world construction, though, Dragona. :P
I go in for things that get inside you and change the way you see things.
We're requiring different things of books, so it's like . . . I mean, one person could say a fish was better than a phone because a fish can swim better, but another could say that a phone was better than a fish because a phone can help you communicate better, and the thing is, they're looking for different requirements, so the results are just no compatible.
#ChaseForBookNine
*watches star stare at completely the wrong place*
Why are you watching the wall star?
*moves silently to a new position*
The wall is very fascinating, Silente.
All those ears, you know. O_O
#ChaseForBookNine
That's a good point.
*nods*
When are you gonna move again?
*hides in a different shadow*
There aren't many characters who I actually hate but B is one of them. The ending and the beginning of the book was... alright, I guess. But still not up to the quality of the Demonata in terms of writing quality or content.
And as for the children's book with zombies, that's what I thought about Zom-B. I think The Enemy does have some elements of a children's book in there - BUT it has gore, zombies, basically everything to balance it out a little to make it a good all-round book.
Zom-B, for a zombie book, hadn't got a very good plot. B is like my least favourite character out of everything I've ever read. For the simple fact that, yes, you get to see about racism and stuff, BUT he completely fills the teenager stereotype, and he is incredibly infuriating. Just as a character in general, not for what he does or what he's like - just the idea of his character.
I mean, they had a news report of a zombie attack on a village in Ireland... and did NOTHING. They completely disregarded it.
If I heard reports of zombies wandering around, I'd get somewhere safe. Not just wait for them to come and get me - which is exactly what B does.
I think Darren Shan completely disregarded B as a character. B, for me, was too centred around his fathers beliefs to become a character in his own right. I don't think there's anything he says or does in the books which ISN'T just spitting out his dad's opinions. He has no mind of his own.
In English last year we read a poem which described water as a character in its own right. I think the water is a better character than B, because the water had a personality. The water had a use. B had neither. ^^
Wait, I've just realised B might be a girl... but I'm not sure.
I'm gonna move again . . .
*drumroll*
WHEN I'M GONNA MOVE AGAIN!
THAT'S WHEN!
*claps self*
*she
*her
*facepalm* Did you miss that plot twist? :P
(My friend spoiled it for me, so - *facepalm*)
That's the POINT, Dragonaaaaaa . . . the point is that she was so influenced by her dad that she practically was her dad. :P
I think she was a character in her own right.
And she DID have a mind of her own.
She just had to realise it.
And that was also the point.
Gaining a mind of her own.
Gore, zombies. That's my point. I don't put stock in that. -_-
Plot is amazing, though, but yeah.
#ChaseForBookNine
*facepalm*
You go through the whole book thinking she's a boy, but then her dad calls her 'Becky' and you realise.
Or, you know, you get it spoiled for you and you're just like -_-
#ChaseForBookNine
*signed and shakes her head*
*moves from the shadows*
*stands next to star*
*starts tickling her*
**sighs
*shrieks and hits Silente*
STOPPIT STOPPIT STOPPIT! D:
#ChaseForBookNine
*grins and moves away*
Ha. You moved.
I've only read the first book so if it says it in a later one that he/she/it's a girl, then yeah I missed it.
I didn't think that it gave the character a gender in the first book...
It's the first one. *facepalm*
The first book doesn't give her a gender so you assume she's male, but then her dad's like "BECKY! My special girl!" and the unassuming reader, presumably, goes "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT".
It's the first one.
Trust me. :P
I only read it a few hours ago.
#ChaseForBookNine
B starts to come out a bit more from book 3 but because she was so wrapped up in her father's ways that she does find it hard to contemplate things like God or friends.
But her morals and how she treats people has completely changed. She has become her own character and is slowly becoming the heroine of the books.
Then I missed it. Probably was bored by that point. ^^ Either that or annoyed at the lack of characters. ^^
Hey emerald
*nods at Em firmly*
Hello, btw. :)
Yeah. It's like that theory about how you have to have loved someone once to hate them fully.
But we're only arguing about book one, I guess.
#ChaseForBookNine
Hi everyone!
Sorry to just jump in there. I love Darren Shan.
And I agree with you to a point Dragona that book 1 and 2 are a bit tedious but they introduce us to taboo subjects that people have to deal with in everyday life as well as Darren's version of zombies. However tedious, both books are important.
I still think the writing was nowhere near the quality of the Demonata. And the Demonata made me want to read more whereas Zom-B... I sold the book. And I NEVER sell books. Apart from that time.
I don't think they were that tedious.
But that's neither here nor there, I guess.
Darren Shan is rather awesome, yeah. :P
He wrote the best killing-off I've ever read. It was brilliant. Not even Derek killing off this person Derek killed off (look at me not giving spoilers) beat that, although it was amazing, that. O_O
To revisit my earlier point - we're requiring different things of books, Dragona. We're never going to agree. :P
#ChaseForBookNine
Currently I'm rereading the Chronicles of Siala, then I'm going to read Uprising. Which is like the best vampire novel I've ever read. I wish I could find the second one.
Oh my god!!
I loved the Demonata but SO disappointed with the ending of the last book. I kinda had to sit there and go... 'what just happened.'
Heartbroken over Dervish :(
I didn't like the last book much either... but in terms of the story it DID fit. And I liked how everything came together.
However, in general the series was awesome.
I think I'm a little weird, considering my favourite character in the Demonata series is Lord Loss.
Oh no!
Lord Loss was a boss and a half, he and Dervish were definitely my favourite!
That's like people saying they like my character Deacon, people are just attracted to bad guys. Especially ones that work.
I just thought the concept of a chess playing demon guy was pretty damn awesome. ^^
*stands awkwardly in the background having not read any Daren whatchamacallit books*
And that is what makes him just awesome ten times over :)
Anyone on? Because I can only talk for about ten minuets
You could continue to flit about the shadows as though doing so makes you invisible- that was rather amusing, Silente.
Oh, hello Alistair, I don't think we've met yet!
*glares across at Alistair*
Hello.
*stands out of the shadows*
I don't think I will.
No, Ruenen, we have not. All the better for you. It is my great displeasure to meet you.
I hope you all know, but it's ALAstair, not ALIstair.
*nods*
*nods again*
Small tidbit. I did it too, once.
Cool it's so close!!
Oh look...
Alastair.
(Oh shit! I wasn't here last time this guy was around!)
Tell me, how does it feel when the beast inside you takes over? Do you relish the sound of fragile flesh as it rips apart beneath your claws?
Sorry, but someone I knew (and now hate), his name was ALIstair, and Alastair, it's Rueben, not Ruenen
Right.
*Goes somewhere else now*
*whispers to everyone save Alastair*
What the ACTUAL hell is Alastair talking about?!
I'm touched that you bothered to recall the spelling of my name. But fear not- misinformation is the least of what makes so many of you Bloglamdians disgusting.
Yes, Emerald, I've returned. If you couldn't tell from the terror of your friends further up on this page.
They are not my claws that shred flesh. They are ITS.
Sorry, I poofed a bit . . . D:
#ChaseForBookNine
Well, Rueben, when I asked about claws, I was addressing the vampire. It is tedious to write names at the top of each comment to specify what I'm saying to who, so I often don't.
*yells out at the top of his lungs*
WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?!
The vampire has a name. Use it.
*Hops out of shadow*
Hello everyone.
So what are you Alastair, the bogeyman??
Aro: Hello again Alastair.
Hey Blake.
Do you mean to tell me that you've moved, Star?
Drop the facade, vampire. A beast is what you are, and you know it. You ought to embrace it.
Okay guys, i need to finish getting ready for school! See you this-arvo!
I am not a beast Alastair. Night has come and yet I am not destroying you. Does that not point out that I am more than a beast. And I will not embrace evil.
*spins sword in his hand*
Bye Rueben
Alastair, Silente is a very nice young lady and not at all a beast. Your biased view is quite irritating.
I am whatever causes you pain, dear Emerald.
If you're confused, Rueben, consider the reactions of the people here who know me. I am an old enemy of Blogland. And they thought they were rid of me.
He thinks you should let your inner beast out. Basically. He told my true name to embrace her power though now he would have toldme
Both your failure and hers to accept the purest truth of human nature is irritating.
Aro, I understand you didn't want to be a sense warden. I understand you care for other people. In other words, you're clueless and pathetic. Your respect means nothing to me.
Dude, I have felt and seen pain ten times over and you...
*looks Alastair up and down.*
Are not it.
Rid of you Alastair? You're cruel. If you lay a finger on my kids I will KILL YOU
Human nature? I think you mean vampire nature and I do not refuse the truth I simply make my own truth. I will not let myself be defined by the actions of what one person has done to me. I am not a beast anymore than I am a butterfly. I am me. And I will thank you very much to remember that.
Please Zaf if somebody's going to kill him may I have the pleasure? You know how I like a good fight
*Wheels up* Well, this is turning out to be quite the party..
Remember that a good fight is different to murder Blake.
Aro: How am I clueless and pathetic? I actually wanted to be a Sense-Warden, for your information. I'd shut your trap, I controlled you once, I'll do it again. You're pathetic. When I was controlling Szoren I heard your voice, you have no clue what life is about. You can't hurt others anymore. You're a name and nothing more
I can hardly blame you for your ignorance, Emerald- you don't know me yet. But I imagine pain, for you, looks something like this, *shifts into Drew* or this, *shifts into Deacon* or this. *shifts into Lorcan, bleeding profusely, his body broken in innumerable places* *stays like that for a few moments before shifting back into himself* I can be anything you don't like.
No. I want the honors. I want him DEAD. He hurt myself and Alexis the bastard is mine.
Is it Silente?
Ah.. Well then.
*tilts head* Nice trick. I've seen people do better thing with cards though, Alastair.
Yes Blake it is. You should remember that. There is a big difference between a good fight and murder.
Alexis: Stop it!!! STOP IT!!!
You know, Zafira, I've lost count of the times you've threatened to kill me. It's never worked. The same goes for you, Blake- I've seen your tricks. They were good enough to make me half tempted to steal your name. But not good enough to kill me.
*Emerald takes a deep breath but doesn't show her fear*
That's a neat trick.
Guys ignore him. He's just a bully who puts others misfortunes in their faces. He's nothing.
Hey guys!
I'm glad you think so, Dragona. You'd be surprised how easy it is to break people. I was hoping I'd have better chances to show off.
You know Alastair, I have YET to have a caring about you. Go back inside the head and stay the hell away. You're nothing. *glares* *draws knife and throws at Alastair, much better then last time he was out*
*sighs*
I agree with Ms. Tempest. If Mr. Croatoan's lesser half was here to do anything more than childishly attempt to frighten you all, he would have done so by now.
Maybe you should get some confetti and glitter next time. Maybe add in some fireworks, if you're such a big fan of showing off.
No, I haven't moved, Alastair.
I'm simply repeatedly spacing out of this conversation.
#ChaseForBookNine
((Damn, I love Alastair. XD))
#ChaseForBookNine
Hey, guys! (Not here for very long, so I'm going to participate int he Alastair RP, although I wish I could :3)
And, Star and Dragona, I've read the first Zom-B book, and I quite liked it, but I also read the whole Demonata series, and loved them, too, so yeah...
*not going to
*facepalm*
Hey Kes!
*nods at Kes*
I haven't read the Demonata . . .
No reason why, other than I never really got round to it.
#ChaseForBookNine
((Hey kes!))
You're invited, Adra. Stick around.
Emerald, I don't think you get it. I can hear your heart beating, I can see the slightest change in your eyes, and unlike Niccolò, I have no qualms against reading your thoughts. Your facade is worthless.
I am nothing, vampire, until I get bored. Your friends are not afraid of me because of words.
Hi, Amethyst, Star, and Silente!
Star, well there ARE ten of them, so it is a bit time consuming, but whatever.
Aro: I'm almost curious to ask to find out....what is it like Alastair, to have your name stolen? How does it feel, to not have a body of your own.
But you have yet to use anything but words against either of us. And yes they may fear you, but with their fear comes hatred. Or anger. There are more of us then you. Now go, scuttle of back to the cage from whence you came from.
But I don't fear you or what you do.
Drew is battling his shadows. Deacon is dead and Lorcan is stronger than he ever has been.
So I don't fear the pain you display or think you know.
So whatever you came to TRY and do, it's not working.
((I'm curious: how can you tell when it's Alastair and not Niccolo when they share a body?))
((Because one is kind and caring where as the other one is Alastair. Facial and body expressions. Also what they say.))
*Zafira's knife passes through him harmlessly* Still not good enough, Zafira, and you never will be.
I'm not a half, Sir, and I'm certainly not lesser. Croatoan was a name I chose, you know, and the fragment of a man I chose it for doesn't exist anymore.
((Silente, so there's no way for you to tell if, say, he's at a distance?))
I've got to go, bye!
((bye kestrel))
(I have to go now, too. Bye!)
((bye dragona))
((Bye kes, bye dragona!))
Bye Kes! Bye Dragona!
My cage is bleaker than yours, vampire, and I've done away with it. *smirks* Actually, there are 49 of me, each of which is better than any of you. I do hope you don't find yourself threatening.
*Analyzes the situations with care, tapping her fingers on the edge of the chair with a rhythmic beat, narrowing her eyes with faint suspicion*
*Wheels herself in the other direction instead*
Good bye, Ms. LeStarre and Mr. Pine.
Well, who-or-whatever you are, so far you have not done anything that marks you a threat, or even worth talking to, now that I think on it.
Oh I don't find myself that threatening. However I hope the same of you. I am not scared of you. If anything I pity you. And as I said earlier, I am not 'vampire' I have a name. Use. It.
You're less than nothing
...interesting way to start a new page...
On the contrary.
Guysssssssssssssss.
*hisses*
Stop provoking him.
And no, Kes, there's no way to tell at a distance. :P
Another annoying thing about Alastair - you can't kill him without killing Niccolò or any of his other names.
Just to increase the problem.

How kind of you to point that out, Sir. I'm waiting.
We're not providing him. We're putting him in his place and making sure he understands that he is less than the poop on our shoes to us.
Just for the record, I find Alastair's outlook on life fascinating.
I guess that's why one of my best friends is a mean person. XD
*still not moving*
