Work is progressing. December and most of January was taken up with short stories. I still have to edit them. I'll have to do that soon, over the next few days... But I'm also back on the book. Writing away. Skipping chunks and writing important bits. I'm on the final confrontation now, making sure everything fits together. Even though there is a lot more writing to do, loads of gaps to fill in and storylines to link up, I am TECHNICALLY writing the end of the book at the moment. Will I finally get to find out how it ends? Or will I leave that blank also, to be finished off when everything else is complete?
I don't know. I really don't.
I have, maybe, another month of writing ahead of me before the first draft is done. Every morning I wake up, lie in bed for an hour (yes, it is good to be a writer) and think about the sequence I need to write that day. Then I'm up and writing. There is very little time to think about other things, such as writing blogs or tweeting, and I know you understand that, but I do want to thank you all for your patience. I don't like being silent for this long — but soon, I won't have to be.

Like, 'I'm being controlled by somebody else -- I don't make my own decisions, I don't have my own emotions... My life is pointless.', but those were all things before I knew. THe only difference now is that I know the manner of my own existence, which I wouldn't have before. Nothing has changed, aside from awareness. I'm still me. I can still live in the same way. Surely?

...That's such a weird thought. Well, seeing as in England you can leave school at sixteen (so long as you're in some form of education till you're eighteen, which could be just an apprenticeship) and you can't legally drive yet when you're sixteen, our school wouldn't do that, plus we don't have as big a thing about graduation as you Americans do :P

Well we have the law as age 16 you can get your permit then 6 months later you can take the road test if you have 65 hours of practice if you manage thay you get your Junior License and thats til you are 18 and get your Senior one where no restrictions are given

You guys are required to stay til 18? We can drop out at 16 if we have full proof of a full time job
Here you can take driver's ed when you're fifteen, and after you have enough hours and pass the two tests, and preferably a third one, but that's technically optional, you can get a license if you're sixteen. And then for the first year you can't drive between 1 and 5am, and for six months you can't take any passengers under 18 (except immediate family), and until you're 18, you can't have more than three passengers under 20 (again, siblings are an exception).
Ah. Permit and Junior license is you can't drive between 11pm-5am. The number passengers must not exceed number of seat belts. Then for your senior license all that goes away. You only need yourself and the front passenger seat belted in. For yourp permit you must take the knowledge and visoin test
Everyone needs to have a seatbelt here. I had to take the vision test to get my permit, but if you're already signed up for a drivers ed school, you don't have to take the knowledge test, because you do it in driver's ed.
Also, the drivers licenses are sideways for minors here, I believe.

In England, it's not the law to have seatbelts fitted . . . our campervan only has seatbelts in the front and one in the sofa. :)
But you need to have your seatbelt done up, really. I've been at school for however many years I've been at school at, and I've seen the videos of people getting killed in car crashes, slow motion. I've seen wooden cars slide down ramps and the passengers get jerked out of their seats.
School has effectively scared me. :P

THE METAL KITTY IS COMPLETE.
(And TJF's 'Maw Maw Song' is playing, which is very apt, because every time the section which can only be described as the "maw maw" section plays on, I get this weird feeling like I'm drowning in an ocean of cats, all obsequious to some higher-being-cat-master and it's so surreal.)
Granted, I'm not sure he looked THAT metallic, really, but idk I like it. It's all rusty-and-rustic in colour. And yeah. :)
That's the first original artwork that's not either work for school or depicting Justin Pierre that I have completed in some time. So, whee! :)
