gibber.
Work is progressing. December and most of January was taken up with short stories. I still have to edit them. I'll have to do that soon, over the next few days... But I'm also back on the book. Writing away. Skipping chunks and writing important bits. I'm on the final confrontation now, making sure everything fits together. Even though there is a lot more writing to do, loads of gaps to fill in and storylines to link up, I am TECHNICALLY writing the end of the book at the moment. Will I finally get to find out how it ends? Or will I leave that blank also, to be finished off when everything else is complete?
I don't know. I really don't.
I have, maybe, another month of writing ahead of me before the first draft is done. Every morning I wake up, lie in bed for an hour (yes, it is good to be a writer) and think about the sequence I need to write that day. Then I'm up and writing. There is very little time to think about other things, such as writing blogs or tweeting, and I know you understand that, but I do want to thank you all for your patience. I don't like being silent for this long — but soon, I won't have to be.
Soon.

«Oldest ‹Older 4001 – 4200 of 4915 Newer› Newest»I've been better. Remember that thing that I was so stressed about a while ago? Well, I haven't heard back from that, so I'm still worried about it. Apart from that, college is going well, and my personal life is blissfully uneventful.
...Effie is ever-so-slightly dreadful at writing poetry.
I've been told that I'm good at writing poetry, but I've never had much of an appreciation for it and I, though I understand many things, fail to understand it.
You know, if someone's screwed up, you should actually be nicer to them than you are normally.
You shouldn't be horrible to them.
For one thing, because encouragement, and ensuring it doesn't happen again.
Also, if you're horrible to someone, you bring them down and so they're more likely to screw up.
And finally, because we all screw up. You've screwed up. If you're reading this, you've screwed up at some point in your life, and that doesn't make you any worse than anyone else, because we've all screwed up. You're still awesome. And everyone is awesome, no matter if they screw up.
(Plus people kind of tend to be more in need of friendship when they screw up.)

@Lantern: Aw. :P *hugs her and Effie*
I kind of imagine that poetry is just song lyrics without the music. *shrugs*
@Annika: :/ I hope you get a reply soon . . .
Yay for the rest, though. :)

*raises hands in a gesture of surrender*
I'm sorry, was I unpleasant to a Screwed-Up-Someone?
*looks around for a Screwed-Up-Someone*
@Annika: Photo screwed up. :P
He let Hassle Precocious in.
He screwed up.
And the way everyone is reacting is not helping HIM OR THEM OR ANYONE SO yeah.
#ChaseForBookNine
[Shrugs]
I've never been good at expressing myself in plain, simple English, so things like emotional music, art and poetry come naturally for me, to an extent. Apparently it's not the same for Effie, although she's not exactly taking it seriously.
It's not as simple as that. If you're a janitor and you fail, someone ends up with gum on their shoe, but if you're the Mr. Get-It-Done for a major criminal enterprise, and you fail, people could end up dead, or nearly tortured to death in the basement of a boutique in a small town in Kansas.
Depends on the poetry. Some of it relies on the position of the words in space, and that's not something you can hear.
Unless you're wearing headphones and it's made to sound like it's coming from different sides.
I should try making a song like that...
@Annika: So what?
It's the same basic principal.
You screwed up about the same amount as the janitor did, and the only difference is that there were worse consequences.
That's like two people failing a test by the same amount of marks, and one gets a target for improvement and the other gets sent to the headmaster's office and caned like what happened in the olden days.
Unfair.
#ChaseForBookNine
[Shakes head]
I believe the only poetry I've ever written was for school assignments.
*were
Well, life is not fair, supervillains doubly so.
@Lantern: And sometimes in songs, the way the music is made . . . the atmosphere . . . you can't ever create that atmosphere in words, and the way the words are said, in the song, the distinction between the whispering and the growling . . . *fangirling over Slipknot here*
Anyway . . .
There's distinctions between the two, but depending on the song and the poem, it's similar.
My mum says that Passenger is basically a poet, and that she listens to his songs like poetry.
#ChaseForBookNine
@Annika: Agreed.
#ChaseForBookNine
Well, I've written DOZENS of songs, but I've never really considered them poetry, I suppose.
I'm gonna say this now, I don't think either of you will have any effect on the other's opinion.
That said, debate all you like. It's rather interesting.
Debating is pleasant, as long as it doesn't escalate into a fight. I love to debate with friends; I don't debate very well with strangers, however. A big part of debate is being able to subtly menace your opponent, and I am a very un-menacing individual.
[shrugs]
They do have similarities, yes, but music is more than poetry with a tune, and poetry is more than music without one.
They're better for expressing different ideas. Like how some poems work better in Python, others with s p a c e between the letters, etc.
Or how some songs are slower, faster, different instruments/genres, depending on what the artist wants to say.
Well, this hardly seems likely to escalate into a fight.
I know the feeling. I seem to be rubbish at making anyone even consider my viewpoint, though the people who already agreed with me seem to like them.
But yeah.
The tragic thing is that, as a debater, I am both Eloquent and Intelligent. However, when scrutinized intensely by my enemies I tend to . . . well, I tend to quail.
I get nervous, I mean. And skittish. Perhaps a little uncomfortable. Particularly when I'm speaking to people who I respect, because I know that they might out-smart me.
And I do not get out-smarted often.
I imagine you don't.
I'm just not a very good convincer. Although maybe it's because I'm trying to move stone instead of sand. Or because I'm quiet.
Sorry I poofed; dinner.
Debating is one of my favourite things. *nods*
People do have a tendency to just agree with me to shut me up, though . . . D:
I think poetry is more than music without sound, yes, but the basic principal is the same.
I think?
It's like . . . it's like how books are essentially just films written down and films are just books acted out, but you can do so much more with writing than you can do with acting, and you can do so much more with acting than you can do with writing.
Different ways of portraying stories.
#ChaseForBookNine
Oh, I'm sorry! I must go! My people need me!
*gracefully back-flips out of this comment thread*
I think I'm rather good at debating, especially now I'm older and much more confident with speaking to people.
I always have to try and not raise my voice too much, though. :P It raises automatically.
Plus it gets faster.
So I have to try and not talk too fast. :P
So I can actually be understood, like.
I was telling my friend D about science and she was telling me to calm down and take deep breaths and I was like YOU'RE NOT LISTENING and them my friend G told me to be quiet and I screamed at her and then they were like WOAH and I was like WOAH and then I carried on talking and D was just like, slow down, because I was talking at like 500mph, and then I slowed down and she was like "See, I listen to you when I can actually understand what you're saying" and that was like, fairy nuff. :P
I've been hyper today, though, like I said. XD
#ChaseForBookNine
Fours, Annika! :( :(
#ChaseForBookNine
(Yes, this is what my friends have to deal with. :P)
(I pity them.)
#ChaseForBookNine
(Much better at communicating online.
Much better. :P)
#ChaseForBookNine
(Apparently, I scared everyone off.)
(I'm proud of my skills. :P)
#ChaseForBookNine
(Okay, so I'm going to resit this piece of descriptive writing in year eleven, and I really want to start writing it now because IT'S DESCRIPTIVE WRITING I LIKE DESCRIPTIVE WRITING but yeahhhh . . .)
(Maybe I should ask Sir if I can resit it right now.)
(Like, this week.)
(I'm looking forward to doing it.)
(I mean, descriptive writing.)
(I could just write it for the sake of it, but it feels better with a motive.)
(Mmh.)
#ChaseForBookNine
(I actually want to do an exam.)
(This is odd.)
(It's only 7.5%, though.)
(Aw.)
#ChaseForBookNine
Hello.
Hey Dragona
You know what I find interesting?
Okay, so . . . so far, for my English Language GCSE, I have done an essay, some descriptive writing, and some narrative writing. And with the essay and the descriptive, I was like, right, you need to do well on this, you need to pick up marks on the mark criteria and all of that stuff.
I got one mark off an A* with both of tham.
(One mark. Urgh.)
(My Descriptive was an A*, BUT IT GOT MODERATED AND WENT DOWN.)
(I WAS SO MAD.)
(ESPECIALLY BECUSE OF THE REASONS IT WENT DOWN.)
(URGH.)
(SHE THOUGHT I WAS MORE DESCRIBING THE METAPHORS THAN DESCRIBING THE SCENE, I THINK, AND THIS IS SOMETHING I CAN BE QUITE GUILTY OF DOING, SO OBVIOUSLY I MADE SURE I WASN'T DOING THAT, TOO MUCH, LIKE I ACTUALLY MADE A CONSCIOUS EFFORT NOT TO, AND THEN SHE MARKED ME -
URGH.
I was just reminded of Mara going "u dnt no my lfe ducktape"
But yeah.
And
-
What was I saying?
Oh, yeah.)
. . . and with the narrative - I'd already done that in year . . . nine. We all had. And this in year ten was a resit, because we'd be more skilled now.
(We used the same lessons and the same powerpoints as we'd done in year nine when preparing.)
(I could remember what I'd written in answer to the questions on the powerpoints in year nine.)
(I could remember what I'd said.)
(I could remember all the things I'd picked out.)
(I could remember the things I'd thought.)
(I could remember the replies fro the teacher.)
(And I was just like WHAT IS THE POINT IN ME BEING HERE.)
Anyway, in year nine, I'd got an A*.
So there was even LESS point in me being there.
Like . . .
I'm sorry, how am I even meant to improve upon that?
So I was just like, screw this. And I just wrote whatever I wanted.
And it was 1300 words.
And I can generally write 1000 words in an hour.
And it was an hour-long assessment.
And so I wrote like I was an Olympic writer, and didn't even have time to proofread, and with that speed and that amount of checking and my handwriting . . . the errors would be so many, and I was like ha, I'll probably get a C in this, but I DON'T CARE BECAUSE I ALREADY PASSED WITH AN A* SO I DIDN'T EVEN NEED TO DO THAT WHAT IS LIFE.
And anyway . . .
In that assessment, I got an A*.
The one assessment where I just did what I wanted . . .
Anyway, I think there's a lesson in that. :P
#ChaseForBookNine
*waves to Dragona and Chione* :) :) :)
#ChaseForBookNine
Star, you read the chapters yet? :o
@Chi: No! But I am now!
#ChaseForBookNine
According to Google it's international women's day... and I'm not sure how to feel about it.
It's good, because men and women should be equal. And anyone who doesn't think so - let's face it - are absolute idiots. I understand WHY we have it, but I disagree with the existence on it.
It's bad, because it means that society has sank so low that we need an entire day, which doesn't actually DO anything, to suggest that men and women should be equal.
My point is - having an entire day for women just makes things worse. If men had a day for themselves everyone would be in uproar. I think it makes things worse rather than better, because it makes the difference between the two genders more obvious. I think that sometimes the people who protest do worse for their cause.
Star, that happened with us. The resit, I mean. And this is what I don't understand - in Year 9, our teacher was like, "Oh you have to do a description of a city and then an analysis of a poem"...
Then it came to the resit, and then we got the CHOICE of what to do. There were really cool things like do a piece of writing based on a poem, and then write something based on a short sequence of film.
I picked both of them. The poem one I did about an extract from The Prelude by William Wordsworth, and the short extract of film I did Pirates of the Caribbean, and got an A* in both so was pretty happy. I think in one I got full marks (the Pirates of the Caribbean one), and then one away from full marks on the Prelude one.
Sorry I disappeared...
@Dragona: Yay. :) :)
The resit is stupid. :P It should be optional.
And - I totally agree about the woman's day thing . . .
It would be cool if there were one day for woman and one day for men, though . . .
And I suppose woman's day was more sensible when they didn't have equal rights with men (why am I talking in third person?) and if you suggested dropping it, all these people would protest, so . . .
#ChaseForBookNine
In Year 9 I got a B on my description and an A on the poem one... then in Year 11 I got an A* on both.
Chione still here?
*just finished reading*
#ChaseForBookNine
We didn't do the descriptive in year nine . . .
And I don't think the poem one was -
WAIT.
THE POEM ONE.
WAS THAT AN ACTUAL ONE?
*logging onto school VLE :P*
#ChaseForBookNine
They could have changed the spec, I guess... but it was for us. ^^
They're changing everything this year . . . in most of our subjects . . .
It just rocks, being taught exams that our teachers have never taught for before. C:
#ChaseForBookNine
Nah, Geology rocks.
(Generally only slightly, though.)
(DAMN, I was just told all the percentages of everything ON WEDNESDAY.)
(And I don't remember any of it. :P)
(Ah well.)
#ChaseForBookNine
The VLE doesn't say anything . . . *sighs and returns to distance*
How is everyone who's here? :)
#ChaseForBookNine
I'm fine, thanks. How are you?
I'm good . . . it's Friday. :P
How's Mass Effect going?
#ChaseForBookNine
Hello?
Hey Mith! :)
#ChaseForBookNine
Hm. The last time I played it was Wednesday... and it was going pretty good. I have a maximum of 3 missions to do before the suicide mission comes along.
I have enough assault rifle upgrades to mean that the worst assault rifle in the game does the same amount of damage as the best sniper rifle in one shot, and it's VERY accurate to the point where it won't miss wherever you shoot.
All my team is loyal, I have enough renegade points to ensure the loyalty of them because some of them have arguments... take Miranda and Jack. I walked into a room and they were threatening to kill each other.
So I said they could do it AFTER they had dealt with the Collectors.
Once I do one more mission, then I have Legion (a Geth) and then Tali'Zorah will argue with Legion, but yeah I have enough points to stop them arguing without losing one of their loyalties.
Then all I have to do is go through the Omega 4 relay into the core of the galaxy, shoot some Collectors, destroy their base (HOPEFULLY everyone will survive).
As for my stories - I've started writing it when they go to the planet Junthor, as you've already found out how all of them got involved with Revenge.
And I'm pretty sure to most people that would be just useless blabber.
Hi Dragona!
Hey Star! :) *hugs*
Hey Mithria! How are you?
I think there are only two American comedies that I actually like... The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother. Every other one that I've ever seen I don't like. They just seem to try too hard to be funny, but The Big Bang Theory is good. Especially when you know what they're talking about. *nods*
I'm ok, thanks!
Only here for half an hour, though...
I almost never know what they are talking about in The Big Bang Theory... I always have been bad at Physics and Chemistry and stuff...

Maybe this one's better?
Lol yep, that works.
(Sorry, drawing.)
@Dragona: That sounds awesome. :)
And - great way of ensuring their loyalty. XD XD
#ChaseForBookNine
Yes! :D
Just found this on Facebook^^
Star, Jack is a VERY powerful psychotic biotic who was tortured by Cerberus, and Miranda WORKS for Cerberus... yeah. You can kind of see why they disliked each other.
Shepard just walked in and said that her orders were law and told them that if they wanted to tear each other apart they would have to do it AFTER they had shot a load of Collectors.
Jack then decided to take that as a sign she'd get revenge, and walked off. Miranda then decided to thank Shepard, so I made her say "I didn't do it for you. I did it for the mission".
Just because I made Shepard evil like that.
*nods nods nods* :) :)

That is what is referenced in my desktop wallpaper.
My wallpaper being:

Your wallpaper looks awesome but I can't watch the link. Youtube isn't working properly...
Aww...
Okay, NOW it's working. Strange...
Lol, I kinda like that guy :D
Which guy? The pilot, the robot or Shepard? ^^
The one who was mimicking the robot^^ I think he is the pilot...
Sorry, I really know nothing :P
*mimicing
(I think... Don't know how to spell that...)
*tacklehugs Mithria*
Hello sister.
Star what did you think of them? :D
The pilot, yup. His name is Joker. Well technically his name is Jeff. He has brittle bone disease but he's an awesome pilot.
That's not one of the funniest things he does. He IS called Joker for a reason.
Hey Chione! :)
God, I'm so sorry but I gotta go...
See you tomorrow?
Dragona, I think I am going to do some research on Jeff/Joker tomorrow when I've got the time^^
Okay, I'm gone now! See you all tomorrow I hope!
*waves and disappears*
Bye sis!
I wonder where Silente is...
The robot isn't just a robot, either. It's a Geth, created by a race called the Quarians. The Geth in the video is called Legion, who is made up of 1183 programmes.
They're sentient robots. They became too advanced, to give a quick run down on events... when the Geth tried to question their own existence the Quarians knew they had made a mistake and tried to shut the Geth down.
The Geth rose against them and pushed the Quarians out of their homeworld.
The Geth are actually shown to be more than artificial life - Legion's dying words are questioning whether he has a soul.
So yeah, Geth are more than artificial intelligence, they're synthetic life.
And once again that's useless blabber.
@Chione: They were awesome! :) :)
Sorry for distonating. Art and music. :P

Greetings, Ms. DeMars.
Two more days...!!!
Greetings, Ms. Dark. I wish you a happy birthday early, in the case that you are too busy during that day for me to wish you well.
Hi Sir hai Taia
Greetings, Ms. Kerias.
Oh, thank you so much, Sir! I really appreciate it :) I'm going to try to get on here at least once that day, but there's always the chance that you might not be online. Thank you, though! *hugs*
Salutations, Sir. :) How're you doing?
Adra! Hey! :)
I was going to ask the 'Until..?', but it looks like Sir answered that for me. :P I hope in advance that your day will be perfect. :) *hugs*
Hey Zaffy! :)
#ChaseForBook9
I assume something is wrong. I know what is.
Shaaaarky do you eat tuna?
Taia I have now determined my gerbils are crazy
Ta Taia :)
Also, MSD- I have to start my homework early!
Standard, Ms. DeMars.
It was nothing, Ms. Dark.
No, Ms. Kerias.
-Wonders if Sir has a "Ms" and "Mr" key on his keyboard-
Good it'll be quiet
Oh. Was curious Sir. I don't actually like tuna either
..
No, Ms. Dark. I do not actually own a keyboard.
Very well, then, Ms. Kerias.
Oh, you use a touch screen, then?
Or, I suppose it doesn't matter. Maybe it's a reflex you have :)
Who knows? :}
mAybe +He wOrld wI|| nEver kNow
So do you use some form of touch screen then?
Actually, Ms. Dark, I do not own any wireless devices at all. The one who types would be my author.
Though, I do own a typewriter, if that counts. However, I doubt it could be connected to the Internet.
Oh, I see. My error.
Well, I'm sure if you did, it would be fitting to have that feature, since you use it so often. Rather, it might be more helpful for your author.
Honestly, Ms. Dark, I have no idea.
Oh shoot, I really have to go now. It was nice talking! And again, I'll try to be on tomorrow and probably Sunday!
Good bye, Ms. Dark.
Wish it'd hurry up....*sighs
Oh good and damn I was hoping for a nice weekend
*pokes Sir*
@Zaf: *laughs* x3
@Sir: I think that's good to hear? In that it's better than below standard would be? :)
It's a difficult concept to compare, I guess, because if the usual is referred to only as the usual, then how do you know how the usual is, if your metering is relative to other standards, kind of? idk. I'm just brain...words...thinking.
Aw, *hugs Adra* See you!
#ChaseForBook9
They are insane! They're going crazy on that wheel
No, your mental wanderings are entirely warranted, Ms. DeMars.
Standard, in my case, would mean as well as one could be expected to be, under the circumstances, which usually are satisfactory.
Hello everyone!
Greetings, Ms. Temerity.
@Zaf: Awh, *laughs* Cute, C:
*nods* That makes fair sense, Sir.
But then, I suppose that what classes as satisfactory varies from person to person? Although that argument could be held toward any response, I guess. In that what one person might consider fear, another might label as anxiety?
So I guess 'standard' is perfectly ample, by your definition, as much as any other response could be. :) ^^
(Wow. I feel like something in my head is actually resolved. Mental settlement is a strange sensation. Oddly nice. Nicely odd? idk. :P)
#ChaseForBook9
Hey Amethyst!
Hi! Anything interesting going on?
Not entirely, Ms. Temerity.
I dedicate this page to chocolate.
And to all those meaningful things that you really want to say but somehow can't because it always comes out the wrong way and you end up with an artsy thing.
Hear hear
No Amethyst :/
Because my deds feel more meaningful on the page I'm meant to be deding.
Sorry, not really here...
Hi Amethyst!
I don't know? Probably. The world is huge, so I expect that there are many interesting things going on. But I don't know what any of those are, so I don't suppose that's very much use? :P
Still distant- continuing my armoured/mechanical cat.
#ChaseForBook9
...well then... how are you guys?
Standard, Ms. Temerity.
Oh, blast and confound it all.
Zaffy good
*hugs Fabi* :)
I'm good, thanks Amethyst - And yourself?
'If the Moon Were Only Pixel - A tediously accurate map of the solar system'
http://joshworth.com/dev/pixelspace/pixelspace_solarsystem.html
That is a LOT of empty space... ^^
(But then, I guess that's why they call it space, right?)
#ChaseForBook9
I like my dynamite forest
I'm fine :) I'm going to be distant...
It's kind of terrifying, though. We're floating in this vast expanse of nothingness that our brains don't even have the ability to comprehend? It's not a thing. It doesn't exist. How do you comprehend something that doesn't exist.
On top of that... how would you even comprehend that DISTANCE, let alone the emptiness? idk.
ANd that's only our solar system. it's only a TINY bit of everything. idk. idk.
It's weird sometimes to just think exactly where you are and the fact that in all that emptiness and here I am, and I'm not emptiness, there's so much emptiness and yet I'm a thing that's NOT emptiness, I exist, in all of that and it's kind of incredible that we're all even real, and what even is that? idk.
But, it's just... wow.
I've gotta go.
*hugs all*
Bye! *waves*

Bai Taia
Bye Taia!

*giggles* DYNAMITE
Hello everyone.
#ChaseForBook9
...what are you going to blow up this time?
Hello Niccolò.
How are you, Amethyst?
#ChaseForBook9
Do you ever get so low that you don't know how to tackle the problem anymore and you just need some form of distraction because it hurts so bad?
Or am I just a weirdo?
I'm fine. What about you?
Hello Luciana.
Okay peoples! Now I must depart! Good bye!
You are by no means alone in that state, Luciana, although I am sorry you feel so low to begin with.
#ChaseForBook9
Farewell, Amethyst.
#ChaseForBook9
Hey Nic
Bye Amethyst.
Hello.
Hello, Zafira.
#ChaseForBook9
Whats up?
Long time since we've talked, Zaf. How's life?
ZAF
I needed to say that a) yes, you can engineer your own kids. That's what designer babies are. You chose your kids' DNA and what they look like and what they're good at and so on.
And b) I love things like that, that discuss the future. :) Especially when the future is horrible and it's really chilling because - THIS COULD HAPPEN.
@Mushroom: :( *hugs tightly*
#ChaseForBookNine
*choose
*moans*
OH MY GOSH WHY DOES MY BRAIN NOT WORK.
#ChaseForBookNine
Its okay Luce, not great.
Star- SERIOUSLY?!
Hey Nic do you wanna see Christopher?
Legally, you can only determine the gender and get rid of genetic disorders, I think, but yeah.
#ChaseForBookNine
Can't you only change the sex if it's got a certain disorder that only one sex can have?
(Gender is a mental state; sex is biological.)
*hugs Zaf* I feel you man. Life's bollocks.
Jesus Star....
Luce yeah not good not bad bad just meg
@Mushroom: I'm not sure . . .
In My Sister's Keeper, Anna was a designer baby . . .
Life has to suck to be awesome . . . but sometimes, I think life's balancing scales might be a bit retarded. :P
#ChaseForBookNine
I am not to be trusted around children, Zafira.
#ChaseForBook9
As far as I know, most people can only change a baby's sex if it's sex will potentially cause it to suffer greatly in its life.
Life just sucks.
@Mushroom: *nods, unable to really comment when I don't really know*
Life sucks.
But it's awesome too.
And it's important to focus on the awesome stuff, sometimes. *nods*
#ChaseForBookNine
Oh Nic come on it won't be bad I'll hold him you don't have to worry! And you manage to be around Olivia fine
Me and my mum looked it up, and I think I believe in International Women's Day now, sorry Dragona.

Zaf, if he doesn't want to, don't force him. :/
If you really have a crush on him, then you should be wanting to look out for him, not asking him to place himself in uncomfortable situations. What do either of you gain from that?
#ChaseForBookNine
It just amazes me how he can handle Liv but the tiny one he can't.
International Women's Day tomorrow.
My dad's birthday.

Have you had enough?
Tempered to the core
The stillness in the air
It weighs a million tons
Gentle eyes of stone
Liars, every one
The distance in between
Is far too far to see
Keep it to yourself
The darkest pangs of perfect hell
Try to get it out
Everything that hurts will one day fade away
Time will wait you out
Like static on the shore
The closer to the edge
The harder to ignore
Keep it to yourself
The darkest pangs of perfect hell
Try to get it out
Everything that hurts will one day fade away
It hurts to see you
In so much pain
It hurts in ways I
Can't explain
Keep it to yourself
The darkest pangs of perfect hell
Try to get it out
Everything that hurts will one day fade away

As you wish, Nic.
Olivia: *runs up behind Nic* Hi Coco!
*takes a small step back* Hello, Olivia.
#ChaseForBook9
IWD is March 8th. We studied it in college.
Hey Adra. Yeah, sorry. Been pretty low lately. Only here because I needed a distraction.
Might go to bed soon...
*hugs Star back* :)
Hi, all. :)
#ChaseForBook9
Olivia: How are you? *doesnt notice his small step
I'd love to stay and chat, but I'm pretty tired, so I better go to bed. Night guys. Thanks for distracting me from life's shittiness for a little while. Xxx
@Mushroom: Oh, really? O_O
Kayos.
I really hope you feel better soon. :)

Fours, Mushroom! :(

Quite alright, thank you. And yourself?
Sleep well, Luciana.

Olivia: Happy!!! I am very happy!!! I can read a book now! *looks excited* I can read, Coco!!
... I'm still looking at that map of the solar system, with a scale by which the moon's diameter = 1 pixel. And I'm still scrolling to the right and I'm only just gone halfway through it. THere is so much SPACE. It's just nothing.
And nothing.
And nothing.
And you look at how small Earth is by that size, and it's so tiny, and how small are WE?
BUt there's so much emptiness between each planet, it's so much scrolling to the right, on and on, and it's so vast and it's like... it's just nothing. There's nothing there. It doesn't exist. And then somehow we DO. There's so much nothing between every reference point, between everything HUGE enough to appear. ANd we're there. We're in that. THere's so much nothing that doesn't exist and we do exist, and I realise that I'm just repeating that but, idk, it's just so incredible.
It's like... The volume of everything that doesn't mean anything or do anything, it's so, so huge. ANd you come across these TINY things, little clusters of pixels, after ages of searching and waiting that feels like forever to the point that you don't even remember where the last bit of colour was, you don't remember the last thing you saw except for that blackness... And you come across those couple of pixels and they're so incredible, and maybe it's worth the wait and maybe it isn't. But it's this travelling through everything and nothing, because it somehow IS nothing but means everything, because everything is within that huge nothing.
I don't know.
I don't know how to say the things that I think because I don't know what they are, and, I don't know. But, yeah.
Like... How many particles are in a human being?
... I Googled that - A 70kg person contains approx. 7x10^27 atoms. That's 7,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.
How many subatomic particles is that? According to the same page, about 2.3x10^28 protons, 1.8x10^28 neutrons, 2.3x10^28 electrons. Which totals to 6.4x10^28.
So 64,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.
That's how many protons/neutrons/electrons are within a human, (give or take some, depending on the human, of course.)
And then you look back at that vast emptiness.
You're a collection of 6.4x10^28 subatomic pieces in that vast expanse of absolutely nothing at all.
Which is so incredible.
idk.
#ChaseForBook9
And also... without those tiny dots, there'd be no way of measuring that nothing. YOu have no reference point.
The simple fact that the tiny dots EXIST gives the nothing an everything.
idk.
#ChaseForBook9
SOrry. I just- yeah.
*hugs Luce* I hope that you sleep/are sleeping well. ^^
#ChaseForBook9
*explodes8
... I reached the end.
It says you'd need to scroll through another 6,771 of those maps before you saw anything else.
Wow.
