I was indeed a happy writer.
So what else have I been up to lately? Well, I've been writing, amazingly enough. I have taken two weeks off Book Nine to focus on coming up with new stories for Armageddon-Outta-Here (haw!) which'll be out next summer.
As a sample of what the new stories will feature, we're talking the Dead Men in the Wild West, the story of how Valkyrie met Caelan, a Billy-Ray Sanguine solo adventure, and Skulduggery Pleasant and Gordon Edgley at a horror-themed masquerade ball, set 25 years ago.
Time is tight, deadlines are onrushing, but I'm having FUN, so none of it seems quite like work. And hopefully it never will.

Ok. I'm not really here, but I NEED YOUR GUYS'S OPINION ON SOMETHING THAT'S REALLY RANDOM AND UNRELATED AND KINDA STUPID BUT IT'S BEEN BUGGING ME SO YEAH.
Ok. So the other day during lunch, Seph and I were having a discussion/argument/whatever about the whole Time Turner thing in Harry Potter and why they didn't just use it to go back in time and kill Voldemort before he rose to power. I was saying how the time turner only went back one hour every turn and going back that long would mean you'd have to turn it like a billion times. Then I said how I read on Pottermore that the longest you can travel back without causing serious permanent damage to the future is 5 hours and that the Ministry has a bunch of laws on the usage of time turners and stuff but then she said that that was just JK Rowling making things up so that people would be happy and stop worrying about it and that killing Voldemort would definitely be an exception to the laws because he's Voldemort and he killed a bunch of people and going back would mean saving them. But then I said that if they killed Voldemort then there would be a ton of serious changes to the future. Then she said that that's the whole point and then she called me an idiot (but that's ok because she says that kind of stuff to me all the time) so the argument kinda ended there (because when you argue back after she calls you a name then it gets intense and I decided it wasn't worth it) even though I was going to tell her that even though some people wouldn't've died, there would still be some people who wound't've been born because the terror Voldemort caused drove people together and some of them eventually got married and had kids and stuff. I had a bunch more stuff that I could've said to prove my point but that's beside the point so... ANYWAYS..!

Jubi- if one were to go back in time to kill Voldemort, not only would history be altered drastically, but who is to say that some other crazy bad guy wouldn't rise to power? It would be an alternate timeline, and the possibilities are endless. Maybe it was a set point in time? She doesn't know that. No one does.

I think I agree more with you, Jubi.
I get where your friend comes from, but I think that the two different possibilities are different, and it's hard to say what would have changed, kind of? BEcause that series of events becoming different could have led to something equally awful, anyway, and how would you know? There are so many variables, and things might affect other things in ways that you wouldn't expect, like somehow Voldemort being finished earlier/differentlllly could have led to an uprising, or a new Voldemort-like character arising, following in the wake of those events, or whatever. It's an endless choice of possibilities.
And also sometimes people just don't think of things, and maybe the Harry&co just didn't THINK of that at the time because they were too busy dealing with other things?
And ALSO, writers have to set limitations? As Derek once said, why didn't somebody just take out a gun and take Voldemort out there while he and Harry were doing the spells-duel thing?
So yeah. I think that concludes my response. :P

'Hi' is more commonly used nowadays, however, so people tend to use 'hello' when they want special emphasis, and cheerfulness is something often emphasised. :)

Do you(anybody) ever just look up while you're walking and your eyes just kind of take in the vast expanse above and around you, and the HUGEness of it all is just suddenly so apparent, and for a moment at most there's this realization of just how un-understandably big even the little planet that we call home is, tracing the edge of the sky above you. ANd then that moment's gone, and you're walking again, but kind of feeling like you've both grown and shrunk and there's a kind of clarity... idk.
Maybe it's just me. idk. It just came to mind, suddenly.

Do you ever get the feeling where . . . it's hard to explain. You sort of look outside yourself, and you're just another person who's going to die, and you look at yourself as an outsider sort of and then you think "okay that's freaky let's return to real life now", but it IS real life, and you're sort of trapped because it's real and you can't sort of just go back to reality because it is reality . . .
It's not really THINKING that, it's FEELING it, and it used to freak me out immensely when I was younger. Nowadays, it just really freaks me out. It's scary . . .

I think... I think I know what you mean but for me... I think the idea that I'm just one of 7 billion people on a planet who's going to die is more kind of comforting than it is scary. I don't really know how to put why, though. I don't know, it's a hard thing to place, but I just find that idea of being another human being on planet Earth, in a vast expanse of nothing and everything all at once and for a however big/small(depends on perspective?) space of time, I think I feel more okay with that, because it kind of makes existence more real and believable to me, somehow.
So I don't really know if that answers your question or not, but, it's a thing. :)

*nods* I know what you mean, Star.
I like to have things in my head, and they go through and through and through, and though they never really stop meaning it's so hard to put words to them because it's hard to catch them, I like that they're there, and they have all these links and wways in which they kind of fit, but also a lot of space to explore and develop, and sometimes something makes one of them do something, and it becomes being used and developing and making more links and it's kind of analysing and defining and building and understanding and placing, and I like that, too. :)
