I should have announced this yesterday, to be honest, but I was in Swindon, in England, doing writerly things like chatting to 600 people, signing all their books, and then travelling on to the WH Smith head office and signing 500 copies of LSODM, so you'll forgive me if I was a tad... distracted.
But, without further ado, to those who have not yet heard, the title of the short story collection out next summer is...
Armageddon-Outta-Here.

I swear to god, I never thought Harper Collins would agree to this. My first instinct was to call it Tales of the Dead Men, but that wouldn't have been accurate because there'd probably only be one or two stories featuring the Dead Men — not enough to warrant a title.
Harper came back with The World of Skulduggery Pleasant, which is, let's face it, a title far too boring to exist.
I suggested Armageddon-Outta-Here as a joke, expecting everyone to dismiss it. But the more I thought about it, the more I said it in my head, the more I loved it. And suddenly I became determined to be the writer who has a book with THAT title.
Amusingly, Harper Collins agreed. And I couldn't be happier.
And if that wasn't awesome enough, we should actually have a cover reveal early next month for you to gawp at. Could I BE any nicer to you?

Mara, you are a wonderful person. You're so nice; you can just do something really nice that really touchs us . . . me . . . us . . . whoever.
For example, you created ARCK.
In fact, I could just say look, Mara created ARCK, and that would be all I needed to say to prove how wonderful you are.
But I am saying more, beacuse you are more. :)
You think you must annoy us with your 1Dness . . . UH NO. It makes us smile and laugh and have fun being 1D related. Whenever you be especially 1D, it does literally make me smile/laugh. Anything that creates smiling and laughter must be good, unless it also creates death and torture and so on, and your 1Dness doesn't (that I know of. 1D could be secretly murdering/torturing people and have recruited you, and in that case it would be bad, but that's very unlikely). It's not annoying. It's happiness, and you wouldn't be Mara and as Mara-y without it, and I love how Mara-y you are, so therefore, your 1Dness is (if no murdering and/or torturing is involved) awesome.
You don't believe you're perfect or amazing or even nice, and that hurts, because you are. You're like a bright shining star in the sky, but you can't see how pretty and sparkly and shiny you are in the night sky. Your gaze is swallowed up by the black space surrounding you, and you can't see the light beacuse you are the light (which makes sense, beacuse stars are round balls and don't have necks, so they can't bend their head to see themselves. They're just like massive heads. You can't see your head unless you look in the mirror, can you? Well, you can see your hair and your nose and the bottom of your forehead, but you can't see the vast majority of your head, so therefore, shining stars like you cannot barely see themselves at all. Yeah). You glow and shine, but you can't see yourself glow and shine because you're a ball without a neck, so you think you DON'T glow and shine. Have faith, Mara. Faith is believing in what you cannot see (according to some people). If you only think something is real when you can see it, then you must not think the wind exists, because the wind is invisible and you cannot see it. However, you can feel and hear the wind. You cannot feel and hear how much of a shining star you are (stars don't have ears that I can see, and they can't feel themselves because they can't TOUCH themselves because, as previously mentioned, they are a random ball, and balls have no hands as well as no necks and balls cannot touch themselves. Have you ever seen a football manage to touch itself in any way? Well, I suppose if it deflated the top and the bottom could deflate and touch on the inside, but stars don't deflate, they explode. Wait, does this mean you're going to explode? *frowns* ARGHHH STAND BACK IT'S A TIMEBOMB!), but you can sense it in your mind. Have faith, Mara, have faith! Don't be an idiot and swear the wind is noexistant!
. . . I was going to no act like myself so you wouldn't know who I was, but I got really into my star metaphor so I think I may have failed. It was an AWESOME metaphor, though. Best I've ever done. Wish I could copy and paste it to other people, but I think that's just too lazy and unmeaningful. XD

Here's the thing: I need feedback very desperately. While I know most of the people I know have read and liked my works, I get next to no feedback from them, and when I do, it isn't very productive.
