Edward, but this is what I don't understand... they have SUCH a big universe. I mean, it's HARDLY done in any sort of detail, but it's HUGE. They can't really run out of ideas.

Edward, but the Daleks always SURVIVE. And it always shows them surviving.
What they could do, is expand on the whole events of Torchwood with the Daleks and Cybermen. I once started a Doctor Who fanfiction which was centred around that, but it continued ages after where the Daleks and the Cybermen were in a huge war.
Basically the Daleks used their emergency temporal shift to get away, and ended up in the events when Christopher Ecclestone was the Doctor and met the Dalek Emperor. Basically the Daleks shot both The Doctor and Rose before they could defeat the Emperor, then would use the TARDIS which was still in the ship to wreck havoc through space and time - assaulting every single galaxy at the same time.
