Laura was meant to come round yesterday to pick up her copy, but instead she's calling round tonight. While I wait for her to arrive, I've been going over the word counts to all the books so far. I'm very surprised by the first four books— for some reason, I thought everything I've written had been over 80,000 words. Apparently not.
Skulduggery Pleasant was 67,393 words.
Playing With Fire was 69,683.
The Faceless Ones was 69,689.
Dark Days was 77,335.
And now we see the numbers start to jump...
Mortal Coil was 104,000.
Deathbringer was 118,000.
Kingdom of the Wicked was 134,765.
And the second draft of Last Stand of Dead Men is coming in at a back-breaking 156,688 words. Basically, it's twice the length of Dark Days.
I don't know how long it'll be after the edit, but hopefully I'll be able to trim it down a little.

so i was reading rapunzel the other day, and it got me thinking, what would I do in her situation?
so here's what i'd do:
as soon as i was old enough, i'd train in arts-and-crafts and work out how to conceal scissors on my person (i am a naturally suspicions person).
the, once the witch locked me in a tower, i would make a parachute out of the bed sheets and jump out the window. i would then track down my real parents, because my real mother would never lock me in a tower.
so, what do you think? creative enough?

Hey, in my dreams last night, I dreamt Lynxia came back on . . . O_O
I also had a dream involving Cole from the Shiver trilogy. We . . . were trying to do something . . . find out about these people or whatsit . . . And he went and knocked on the door of this cottage, and this old witch woman told him to go away because she'd let nobody in and she'd kill him or something, but she was retiring in a week, so he went back the next day pretending a week had gone by, and she let him in. She said what she did was remember. Remember everything, so it would never be forgotten. She gave all these examples, one of which was white cotton reels, but I can't really remember that. Then she sent him off to this place . . . and he had to go there to find out more and stuffs (sneaky spy work) . . . so then he went to the middle of the ocean and got picked up by these people who lived there. On rafts and a boat and stuff. And he had to do all this work, and there was tons and tons of work. And then it was approaching summer so they didn't have to work very much, but it was really hot. And Cole realised that you had to suffer all year round, from the work and the heat. And then he was in the centre of the boat and it was like a supermarket, and this is where my brain kind of abandoned the whole Cole thing and got too caught up in insignificant things, because there were these books you could buy and I was really happy beacuse they had all these books I wanted to read and I was choosing which ones to take. And then I woke up. I found it disappointing that it never reached the climax where Cole's spy work was put to use, but yeah. :P

Being from a large school with many different classes and many people (the year group is divided into two halves, and there's still people in my half I've never met or heard of yet . . . ! Well, I assume there is. I'm still dicovering previously unknown people), I don't get the same thing of having a new person as when there is a new person (there's new people all. the. freaking. time), I don't see them much.
I remember back in primary though, it would have been more of a novelty. :)
And Maraness, it may be mean and it may not, but it's perfectly normal. I completely understand and I have felt the same way about things numerous times.

Oi, Rhydian, I live in the country! :P I think. Well, not really. Really really not, actually. Wel, I don't live in the city, so yeah, but there's tons of house and roads and stuff. It's not like living in this farmhouse in the middle of nowhere.,
We have such crap signal here. Everyone who moves here can't believe it. Text is just all unreliable. My mum just leaves her phone on her windowsill sending all night in the hope a signal will drift by. It's normal to recieve texts hours or days late.
Our village has sucky signal and I think it's coz we're on a hilllllllll.
And the internet signal! Ohmygsoh. In our area, we have odd lines or whatever, and all the broadband companies only operate on the usual wires. So there is only one company everyone can get there broadband from, and as there's no competition, the company gives everyone absoultely crap broadband, because we'll pay for it whether it's bad or not as we have to. We pay for superspeedy connection, and it's like rubbish. My dad just did something to improve it and now you can watch iPlayer without everything jerking like you're flicking through images on a camera, but yeah. :)
