Wow.
Okay, that was one of the most fun competitions I've run so far. The Exquisite Corpse competition is shaping up brilliantly— the standard on display is just mind-boggling— but the Spirit Lake contest has just been fun from start to finish.
So here's what I did.
I collected all of the names of the people who entered, both here on this Blog and on Twitter, and I divided them into bundles. I made sure that each and every one had a valid reason for why they should be a video game character. Some of these reasons made sense. Some were just odd. Some were VERY odd. There are people, both Minions and Ronda Rousey fans, who are just unsettling. I'm not entirely sure how their brains work— if indeed their brains work at all.
To give you a hint of what I've been dealing with, here are a few reasons you people gave. "Because of my neurax worms." "Because I like pie." "Because I'm short.""Because I've watched Robot Wars.""Because I have a psychic elephant.""Because I have a need for speed.""Because I'm not very smart (which will make the player feel better about themselves).""Because I am Dr Who.""Because I sometimes think that I'm the only human being in the world. The rest of you are all aliens.""I would make an awesome video game character because I already AM an awesome video game character.""Because I am actually Lakota (the Spirit Lake people are my Dakota relatives)."
So I divided you all up, and those of you who entered multiple times got your names put into as many groups as possible. From each of these groups, a winner was chosen. The winners were then put into a hat.
(Not an ACTUAL hat, since I don't own one, but a METAPHORICAL hat.)
(Okay, fine, I wrote all your names on a sheet of paper and I let my cat walk on it, and the closest one to where her tail touched down was the winner.)
And sooooo... without further ado... the winner is...

Yayyyyyyy Willow! The only thing I know about Willow is that she's five years old (so, er, she can wait a few years before she starts reading my books) and she's a Ronda fan... It's a lovely prize, and I can't think of anyone it'd make happier.

Nope, hospitals are too fun for him to explode. Whenever he goes into a hospital, he ends up creating a fight, a dance-off, or something similar. Consequently, and coupled with the fact he's over a hundred, there are few hospitals he hasn't been banned from, which kind of sucks when he actually NEEDS a hospital - although that's rarely, him being what he is.

I always hear BFMV in my head whenever 'Let's go!' gets said . . . O_O
Okay right. What happened is, Hunter was experimenting with these chemicals and stuff, basicaly mixing loads of them and testing them by drinking them (yes, it's incredibly stupid. He was trying to find new medicines. He's done it before), and he accidentally made this acid that dissolves a lot of stuff it touches. So he drank that and his insides started dissolving. He kind of staggered downstairs to Ez, and she basically gave him a load of ethermelt (helps him heal) and started ringing up hopsitals trying to find one that he hadn't been banned from. Hunter just sat there burning through their ethermelt supplies, everything healing and then dissolving again, trying to stop his outer skin dissolving so everything wouldn't fall out, and then like (it'd be travelling in his blood now, this acid) his lungs started melting, and he was just coughing and vomiting up a load of blood and not being able to breathe and his skin justed started ripping and bleeding in tons of places . . . yeah. And he couldn't drink anymore and he couldn't think and he was just dying and trying to scream but too much blood in his mouth and down his throat, and Ez just started pouring ethermelt on him with one hand whilst talking on the phone with the other . . . And then she found a hospital and she called an ambulance (no cars in this time, remember) and they had to drive for ages, beacuse to teleport him in that state would mean certain death. And Ez had to be giving him energy (special ability stuff) the whole time because he couldn't breathe.
And then they got there and they could put him on an oxygen machine, and they kept giving him blood which stopped his body having to heal himself more, and Ez was just ringing everyone getting more blood donations because he was bleeding out blood faster than they could put it in . . .
His brain fared the best, btw. His body automatically protects that the most, whatever the rest of himself is like.
So he was there for a few days, and he got a bit better, but was still just like sitting there melting inside and vomiting blood.
And for once in his life, he didn't intentionally start anything in the hopsital, but the other patients of the ward were having a sort of competition, before he came, of who was vomiting up the most blood, and then Hunter arrived and smashed their records to pieces without even being aware of it (or anything. When he was conscious, he was hallucinating like crazy). So one of them was kind of wacked in the head (hey, you get that in hospitals), and he was annoyed at Hunter, so he pulled the plug on the oxygen.
Yeah, then Hunter went back to dying, and when Ez got there, she went and beat him up, and then that resulted in more fighting (told you Hunter always started a fight or a dance-off in hospitals XD), but she put the oxygen back on first (wasn't oxygen to his mouth, btw. Oxygen to his heart), and then they got kicked out the hospital for attacking people on death's door . . .
They let them keep the hospital bed though, thank God.

And Hunter was just kind of lying there dying and falling apart, and Ez was freaking out and phoning hospitals, and there weren't any that accepted him nearby, and Hunter was dying like hell . . . And nobody would give her an ambulance and likee PANIC.
So she shot this randomer, then someone phoned an ambulance for him, so when it arrived Ez healed the guy who'd been shot and threated the ambulance driver at gunpoint to drive them to where they wanted to go. And then she sat there giving Hunter energy and ethermelt, and he was dying, and yeah.
And the police didn't come after them beacuse all the police are friends with/scared to death of Hunter.
So Ez directed this ambulance driver to this hospital, and they hadn't banned Hunter but they wouldn't let them in beacuse he was Hunter. And Ez tried to get oxygen whatever (they have these portable oxygen machines. It's the future) by giving them logic, and that didn't work, so she tried to get it on sex appeal, and it wasn't working so she started crying and pleading, and that didn't work, so then she threatened them, and that didn't work, and she started shooting people, and that worked, so she go the oxygen. But Hunter meanwhile was looking pretty much dead, so Ez got this torture substance (uh, long explanation required. But you'll have to do without it. It's called RedRays, btw), and that froze him in the state he was in (it does that), so he stopped dying, but he wasn't fixing either, and Hunter was just in tremendous pain because it is uh used to torture people. Then she just kept giving him RedRays and ethermelt, and he sort of started healing, but it wasn't really working at all, and she was like why isn't it working???? Dammit. And then one of the people helping her discovered the acid had reacted with the ethermelt, so basically his blood was just acidic to him now, and any new blood they introduced got corrupted.
So then they had to do something very drastic which wouldn't have worked on a human (a human would have died in the first few sentences of this comment, actually), and they froze him up with RedRays and then drained all the blood out of him. Then they replaced most of his organs one by one and then filled him back up with new blood, and then he woke up, and then they didn't know if he was all right until he stopped hallucinating and could see them, and then he was mostly all right, but he was still really ill and just kept vomiting up blood every now and then over the next few days. And coughing up blood. And occasionally blood would pour out of his eyelids and from under his nails. And he had tons of nosebleeds. And he felt terrible. But after a few weeks he was completely fine.
He sort of learnt his lesson, so now he pours his substances he invents on his skin before he drinks them.

Well, I haven't actually written much with Hunter and co. because Hunter is too busy taking over my hand to bother taking over my writing hand, and I struggle to write down all my story in my head as I make up everything in my head first, so I don't write much, but when I do manage to write anything, I post stories on my blog, which is inkystar.blogspot.com
