Apologies for the lapse in communication. A lot of stuff has happened/is happening and it's hard to find the time to Blog and think about business stuff and writerly endeavours. That said, I'm still hurtling through Book 8- I think I've got a third of it done, which is good news.
Let's see... Okay, on February 20th I'll be in London as part of the Imagine Festival. I''m going to be talking about the movies that have influenced Skulduggery, and showing trailers/scenes as we go. Expect a LOT of awesome 80's movies. You can book your tickets now.
On the 7th of March I'll be at the Riverbank Arts Centre in Kildare, interviewing Alex Barclay on stage about her fantasy novel for younger readers, Curse of Kings. Alex writes some of my favourite crime novels, and she's also a very good friend of mine, and you'll be hearing a lot more from me about Curse of Kings in the next few weeks.
On the 9th of March, I'll be in Derry, the City of Culture, doing... something. For 600 people. So... there's that. Book now! If you can find out what I'm doing. Because I haven't a clue.
In April, for The Maleficent Seven release, I'll be in Dublin and Cork and Galway and Stratford and Milton Keynes and, ulp, Norwich. Where SHE lives.

I had this really weird test in sixth grade. This jerk in the class piped up when our teacher was talking about dolphin's intelligence. He insulted dolphins and whales.
So we got this test with lots of really weird random symbols, and had to answer, and none of us got any of it correct.

I JUST HAD A DREAM. WELL, NIGHTMARE. There was a lot of beginning stuff, but the ending part was - I was on this island on a school residential, only there were all these Death Beetles and they were EVERYWHERE. We were just trying to kill as many as we could so we could get to the exit without being bitten. Only then my friend got really badly bitren, which meant she was gonna die, and I barely had time to be sad about that before I realised that I was also bitten. Then as they were rushing us off to hospital I was thinking of my family and how much I loved them, then, because I love you all as well, I was trying to think of as many of you as I could before I died because I wanted you all to have been in my thoughts right at the end. Then I wrote this letter to my parents, like, at the hospital, telling them how amazing they are and how much I loved them, and my siblings as well, then I gave my parents my email address and password and told them to please go on the blog and tell you all I'd died, and to give them, I mean you, the details please as you needed to know. I told them to tell you all that I'd told them to tell you you were all amazing, and I loved you all, and you were all my friends, and how great being part or your community was.
Aroundabout that time I woke up . . . My dream was so sad. :(
I know why I had it, it was because I watched THG earlier on with my parents. In dream, also in the earlier parts I didn't tell you about, I can see TONS of HG references . . .
My parents really enjoyed THG. They liked the messages, about TV and empires and stuff. My mum said when we were twenty minutes through that she already liked it better than Les Misérables, but she didn't really like Les Misérables. :P She watched it with her friends the night before last, and she came home and gave it 6/10 and said she didn't really think it was that great. :/
Everyone else is of the impression that it's amazing . . .

That may be the third time in my life I thought I was about to die. This last-moments-before-imminent-death thing isn't getting any easier . . . I always think how sad it is that I died before I'd had a chance to really do anything in my life, and how my stories will never get written and it's such a SHAME.
