My editor Nick came over for it, so we were chatting about the Tanith novella and he reckons it needs only the barest of edits. What does that mean for you guys? It basically means it'll stay at around the 54,000 word mark and I won't have to cut anything out. Apart from, apparently, all those mentions of Tanith in a bikini. I sincerely don't see the problem. It's not like I have her running around nekkid or anything.

In the olden days we used Fahrenheit and Imperial measurments in England. Then they started changing it. Old people are still likely to use Fahrenheit, but most things and people use Celcius now. A lot of measurments are still done in Imperial, in fact Imperial's just as common as Metric as far as I can tell, but as they teach us Metric in school, I'm assuming that in a few generations we'll be almost totally Metric . . . UNLESS THEY START USING IMPERIAL AGAIN.

My story in my head just took on a massive twist today. *nods* I decided that the alien species that was about to declare war on humankind wasn't actually a proper species - that they had all been human only ages ago time-travelling sciencists had plucked human babies out of different timestreams and ADAPTED them. Then they used memory-changing equipment to make them think that this person was this person's child and so on. Becuase the war had been taking hundreds or thousands of years to get going (I decided that part way before today), it meant that the alien species who weren't really an alien species had time to develope a community and have a history other than the one put in people's heads by the memory-changing equipment. Only the aliens can't reproduce, so the time-travelling scientists have had to keep stealing babies. AND THE ALIEN SPECIES WAS CRAETED SPECIFICALLY TO WIPE OUT HUMANKIND.
I feel sorry for one of my main characters, having thuis sprung upon him. :P

I generally see watching anything on a TV as a waste of time. So wasting my time watching a few TV programs or one movie is okay, but depending on the day, much more than that is kind of a *groans* moment.

I did a SP MARAthon (hehe. Marathon)one day. Uh, I stayed up all night. I came into school the next morning and my teacher took one look at me and sent me back home to get some sleep.

I often used to get home, quickly do homework, start reading, and not stop reading until I went to sleep, with a break for dinner in the middle. When I went for dinner I'd always feel all out of sync and disconnected . . .
Now I think I've lost the ability to stay in one place reading for so long.
. . . No I haven't. Was doing it the other day. But I can only do it with books I haven't read yet. :)
I read a lot less this year than I read un years seven and eight. Homework, mostly. Also blogger.
I dedicate this page to Harry Potter and reading marathons.
First of all, Harry Potter is amazing. Not nearly as good as Skulduggery, and I can't even claim that it was what got me reading, but still amazing. It has made THOUSANDS, maybe HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of children realise how much fun reading is. People dress up as Harry Potter characters (I was Dumbledore for Halloween once, beard and all), there is even a THEME PARK for it! Yes, it is a little complicated, but that is one of the signs of a good book! I could rant on forever here, but I'm not going to.
The second part of my dedication goes to reading marathons. (For those of you weirdos who don't know, a reading marathon is when you sit down and read an entire series straight.) When you do them, you see things in the books that you would never have noticed otherwise, things make more sense, and you can actually REMEMBER who dies. (I admit it, I had forgotten that Craven died until a couple days ago.)
And that is all I am going to say on the matter.
