I really really really wanted to meet her and she was RIGHT THERE in front of me but then I was called away for a photo, and then there were a few people who wanted napkins signed, and when I looked around again she was gone. My editor Nick came over for it, so we were chatting about the Tanith novella and he reckons it needs only the barest of edits. What does that mean for you guys? It basically means it'll stay at around the 54,000 word mark and I won't have to cut anything out. Apart from, apparently, all those mentions of Tanith in a bikini. I sincerely don't see the problem. It's not like I have her running around nekkid or anything.

A darted around New York City like a ninja, jumping off things and ducking out of sight whenever she saw anyone with a suspicious looking hairdo. This was the most fun she'd had in ages. She really needed to get out more often.
A hand on her shoulder. "Excuse me, sir or madam." She whirled, prepared to bite his hand off.
D looked up from her papers. "What is it, Bronwyn?"
"A voicemail for you, ma'am," Bronwyn, the secretary, explained. "Said it was urgent."
"Ah." D didn't comment on the fact that Bronwyn should have been answering the phone instead of sending it to voicemail. "Give it here."

When she considered all the options, C decided it would be best to attempt to help, but take precautions in case it was a trap. Which it very well might be. She stocked her wallet with several useful items, then selected a destination.
Oops. Apparently wearing a ski mask and darting around like a ninja made you look suspicious. A sighed, and proved over and over again that she was just a harmless weirdo until the detective finally let her go. Good thing he hadn't searched her bag.
Leave it to Bronwyn to manage to delete the voicemail instead of play it. D now only has what her scatter-brained secretary remembered. That might be enough, though... She quickly sent an email to someone who was either a friend or wanted to kill her, she was never quite sure.
Finally, B made it through the traffic (unusually heavy for this time of night) to the history museum. This would be the best place to start. If it wasn't closed. B took a deep breath and walked up the stairs. He wasn't prepared for a break-in, but it might be necessary.

The lamp hasn't been replaced, you know.
The message saying "The lamp has reached the end of its usable life. Please replace the lamp" on one of the whiteboards in one of my science rooms has eben there for months and nobody has replaced the lamp.
Then again, in the changing rooms, there's this shower that is constantly leaking like a tap turned on (seriously. It's not drops, it's a consistent stream of water) and makes the whole shower area permanently wet has been leaking for about a year and a half now, and who's fixed it? No one.
I suppose everyone (students, members of the public, cleaners, the odd teacher) looks at it, moans about nobody reporting it, and then goes off without reporting it themselves.
Maybe I should report it.

Did you know the schizophrenia is particularly difficult to distinguish from bipolar disorder?
I actually am minorly worried about it, because you know when I type the wrong word by accident? I do that loads, and when I'm speaking as well, and it never used to be really common like it is now. Plus, sometimes my speech can be . . . well, I say the wrong word, and then it can take me ages to actually say the sentence, and sometimes I just kind of give up on being logical and kind of say some of the words that fit in the sentence or different versions of them and hope my meaning gets through.
And like I said . . . it's like people see texting or whatever as a substitute for speaking to people, but now I see speaking to people as a have-to-make-do-with substitute for typing to people. I'm better when I type. :P I can communicate much better, mostly because I have type to think about it, and I can read it and I think it, and you can backspace and stuff . . . whereas when you speak, it's kind of straight from your brain to your mouth and sometimes you don't have time to think it over. And often you imagine how much better you could have handled that conversation, but you don't really have much time to think on it when you're speaking.

Although, you know . . .
My English teacher once asked me why my handwriting was so bad (I'm not even kidding it's atrocious) and I was like errr, and he was like is it because you're writing to get all your ideas down quickly, and . . . that conversation, I realised it's because I think as I write. I hear the words in my head as I type them, and that's probably why typing helps me get my thoughts in order, because I think as I type, which means I type at thinking-pace and think in orderly typed words, which is good and bad. But, obviously, that means there isn't really a stopping-and-thinking-about-the-words-I'm-going-to-type stage, which is why they kind of get jumbled, plus when I handwrite . . . I write pretty fast, and often my letters merge together, like my 'r's can sometimes just disappear or be a little loop, and my 'w's look more like 'n's because the line on the end of the 'w' is part of the next letters, and my 'h's can kind of go up, have a little lump then be part of the next letter, and aren't really recognisable, and . . . my mind just really thinks too quickly for my hands, and it just kind of sprawls out in a big mess. :P
And also, sometimes I miss letters out, or stuff, and I can do too many lines going up (making half a nonexistant letter), and sometimes, like . . . I can do a 'd', and then the 's' backs into the 'd' and the 'd' is kind of hidden, and . . .
Yeah. :P
Basically, I think I have the occasional communication problem because I kind of think as I write/type/speak.

I can see the temptation in it. Everyone wants power. Heck, even I want power, but enough of me is smart enough to know that I wouldn't like it once I had it, or that it wouldn't be enough. One of the two.
I came so close to having one of Fabi's parallel future selves tell her. It would have had to be Alia, though, and that would never have worked, anyway.
Because I'm not a strong-willed person in the same way that some of you are. I'm not saying I don't have my own things I get opinionated about, and a bit of a stubborn streak, but if someone got bitter about it, I'd break/back down too easily, and then what's the point of having "power"?
Besides, I sort of agree with Adra about easy solutions like that being boring. While no one "likes" obstacles, they're a big part of what makes the roleplay interesting. For me, anyway.

Well to me, I enjoy having Zaf know hers because I was able to do some interesting stuff. I made her more insane, and live with guilt of knowing her name got the better of her in the war. So to me, it's kinda fun. Yes, I probably annoy people but I devoloped Zaf to also use her knowledge of her name to help people. How many times has she helped people?

We had a rainstorm last night, er, early morning.
It was beautiful.
I wouldn't want to know my true name. Niccolò knows his, obviously, and was a pretty powerful character from the beginning, but I only even wrote him in because I needed a powerful character. Because, if you think about it logically, how could a nineteen year old girl who's only been training since she was twelve be a successful assassin against mages who were hundreds of years older and far more powerful than her? I needed a shadow- some sort of secret trump card to help me out where I needed it. Whoever it was would have to be powerful enough to deal with any threat I might encounter, and have the capability to remain completely hidden from the rest of the world. From there, Niccolò just started writing his own story. And I honestly did not even expect him to be a minor character, forget a main one.
