I have a few random pictures cluttering up my desktop, so I shall intersperse them as I go...
I'm catching my plane tomorrow. An hour to London, then 13 hours to Singapore, then 7.5 hours to Sydney, then 3 hours to Auckland... I'll arrive in New Zealand a little before midday on Tuesday, mildly confused about whether or not I'm sleepy after spending a day in the air zipping across time zones.
Oh boy oh boy.
I'm not packed, either. I know what I'm bringing- roughly- but I'll leave the packing until tomorrow. I'm bringing A Dance of Dragons to read, and I've already looked up what movies will be playing on the plane. Movies that I haven't seen but want to include Battleship, Dark Shadows, Lockout, Get the Gringo, The Five-Year Engagement, and The Woman in Black, and I'll also get a chance to watch The Avengers again. That's roughly 16 hours of movies... I think I should be okay...
Today, I am cleaning the house. Laura will be staying here when I'm gone so I need to have everything nice and tidy, or else she'll throw a mug at me.
I fully intend to blog while I'm on tour. I know my publishers would like me to keep a Tour Blog, detailing how the events went and who I met and what the various cities were like- basically documenting the entire experience. Annnnnnnnd that's not gonna happen. When I get back to my hotel- usually at around 9 o'clock at night- I'm pretty much exhausted. But I'll do my best to keep my Minions appraised of developments.
I'll be gone for 17 days, during which time I'll be staying at 9 hotels and visiting 12 airports.
The temperature in New Zealand is ranging from 1 degree (celsius) at night to 14 during the day. This, my Minions, is a temperature I can deal with.
The temperature in Australia is ranging from 7 to 23. 23 is a tad high. Please Australia, cool down a bit before I get there. Just a few degrees. Say, five. Thank you.
I've got my Sky box ready to record my shows when I'm away. Right now I'm recording Criminal Minds, Newsroom, The Mentalist, and Supernatural. I was delighted beyond measure to realise that I'll be able to watch the Ronda Rousey fight live in my hotel room on my only day off- Sunday the 19th. Thanks to the time difference, I'll just be sitting down to room service lunch when she fights...
And that's it. That's all. I have a house to clean and time is running out. I also need to write up instructions for Laura on how to use the TV (it's more complicated than it sounds) when I'm gone. All you Minions-with-funny-accents, prepare yourselves. I am coming.

I dedicate to innocence.
Innocence is happiness. If person B loves person A, and person A decives person B into thinking person A loves person B, then until they find out, person B will be happy. When person B does find out, person B will not be happy. After a while, person B will probably say they're glad they tound out, rather than believe a lie, but we all believe lies. If it's knowledge or happiness, I think we should pick happiness. People say it's better to know the truth, but then we would. We're human. We're naturally curious. Think about Adam and Eve. I know most people don't believe in them, but if the Garden of Eden and the Tree of Knowledge were real, Eve would have picked the fruit, because she's human and curious. It's human nature. In doing so, the story says she made our race be corrupted by sin. Think about all the evil in the world. The story says Eve was responsible for that. And even if you think it's just a story - in real life, knowledge corrupts. It opens your eyes to sin, and you realise truths you didn't know before. Little kids demand things of their parents because they don't realise that their parents have feelings, too. When they were older, they would be embarrassed to scream at their parents to play with them when they were tired and not feeling too well. In the story, after Adam and Eve ate fruit from the tree of knowledge, they were ashamed of their nakedness, when before they hadn't though about it.
I believe there is a reason we don't know everything there is to know about the world. If we knew everything, it'd blow our minds, drive us crazy. We're simple beings. A goldfish can't remember much because its brain is too simple tp hold all that memory. We can't hold all the knowledge of everything, because our brains are too simple.
Also, like I said before, innocence is happiness. What is innocence? A not knowing of something. What am I doing know? Sitting here on an electric device. Am I doing anything to help the world, save lives? No. I'm not even being healthly or anything. I'm not helping my family. But was I aware of this till I started thinking about it? No. Was a happy? Kind of. Well, I was thinking depressing thoughts about innocence, but at least I didn't feel guilty for not being downstairs with my guests. Which I do know. Think about people on books who stop a great evil and save the world. Are they happy in most of the book? No? Why? Because they know too much. People in the next village who don't know about the world about to be destroyed, are they happy? Not always, no. But they are sometimes. Say the hero of the book goes and stops great evils every day. Will they ever have that innocent happiness again? Or will they always be looking over their shoulder, always nervous, always wary? Soldiers fighting in a war - when they come home they'll seen terrible, terrible things, and will they be properly happy until they can make themselves mostly forget the horrors of the war?
I'm not sure if any of you will agree with me or not. But whether my examples turn out to be good examples or terrible examples, innocence is happiness. So is the way of the world.
