I'm finished the book.
It's only the first draft, granted. And I've finished it twelve days after I expected to be finished, also granted. And with the schedule so horrendously packed, I'm gonna have to start the edit by Sunday. But none of that takes away from the fact that I have finished Kingdom of the Wicked, and I am one happy writer-bunny.
My editor called this afternoon. He'd read most of it, and was just calling to give me the thumbs up. This, I have to say, was a relief. I've never written a book as quickly as I did this one, so I was worried that the quality might slip. Apparently it hasn't. This makes me happy. It's also LONGER than any of the others. Please keep in mind that the finished product might be significantly shorter, but at the moment this one is clocking in at 130,000 words- that's about 12,000 words longer than Death Bringer.
I am so, so drained. I need to play video games. I need to watch movies. I need to spend more than an hour away from my computer. But despite how drained I feel, I am buzzing with that wonderful, wonderful feeling of accomplishment that I always get when I finish a book. I am truly great.

Sorry Ink, I didn't dedicate this page because I find the whole "getting first and thinking hard for a dedication" was too distracting and caused too much unnecessary tension between people who got it and didn't. Don't worry, I'm very, very aware of how people behave when it comes to getting first XD

To the Kingdom of the Wicked, to Derek and the community. To be able to finish seven whole successful books is not a small feat. The fact that there's a plan to have two more after this is amazing. Kingdom of the Wicked is going to be a lot of fun, and we'll be waiting. The community that Derek created is vast, loving and dedicated. We are here for each other and to love the books. This type of supportive environment is rare on the internet, but we've managed to find it, and we'll take care of each other no matter what. Kingdom of the Wicked will give us another reason to come closer together. If we lose characters we love, get surprised by plot twists, no matter what we'll be here and in other Skulduggery communities to talk about it. And it's not just Skulduggery. I have seen the amount of love and support that fans have given others. Whenever minions are having trouble, everyone is there to jump in with a safety net and catch whoever is falling. The unconditional love the fans bring together is beautiful and is what people everywhere should strive to achieve. The Skulduggery Pleasant series brings good people together, and it fills me with confidence that there is hope out there for anyone who's feeling down and lost. You just need to reach out, and people will grab your hand and pull you in.
