Now when you comment, a new window should pop up. It isn't perfect, but at least there are pages now, and you don't have to keep reloading to get to the newest comment...
This is all VERY annoying.

Pink Rose- you're absolutely right, in the first book I didn't emphasise the loss and the sadness that Stephanie and her folks felt after Gordon died. This was a conscious decision on my part, because I didn't want people to pick up the book and be immediately thrown into sorrow and pain. Steph is sad, and I think that comes across because everything is so subdued, but I didn't dwell on it.
Of course, we only meet Steph at the funeral itself, so everyone's had a few days of crying and mourning. When we meet them, they've reached the point of "putting on a brave face". Gordon was a lively, funny and practical guy- he would have wanted them to get back to making jokes as soon as possible.

I'm fairly sure he said somewhere in the early days that he had to see a place first before he could teleport there, but I assume it's possible that as he learned to use his powers, he also learned to teleport somewhere he's only seen on a picture before.
I'd love to know more about the symbols, too - it seems like a useful skill set, and something people can do in addition to their regular magic.

Random story for anyone out there who is as bored as I am - well, actually, I'm putting off doing coursework, but same difference. Nevertheless, here is my story...
I am an unnaturally tall human being living in a cottage with unnaturally low ceilings, and in a state of complete idiocy, this simple fact completely slipped my mind, and when I got up off my bedroom floor I smashed my head against the light, hitting it so hard I actually BROKE it!
I ran downstairs yelling, "MUM! MUM! I JUST BROKE MY BEDROOM LIGHT WITH MY HEAD!"
She looks at me calmly and says, "You did what?"
So I repeat, "I hit my head against my bedroom light and it smashed!"
A few moments pass and then she is saying, "Is the light okay?", to which I nod.
Then she says, "No wires hanging loose or anything?" and I shake my head.
She looks thoughtful for a moment and says to me, "Go get your father to check that it's okay."
I frown and say, "Who's going to check that my brain is okay?!"
She arches an eyebrow at me and says, "Have you been attacked by a tall girl and smashed to smithereens? No, I think not. You're fine. Have some compassion for your poor light and go tell you father to fix it."
I sigh, nod, rub my sore head and do as I am told.
Caring parents, eh? I'm only joking, I love my mumsie and pops, really :) And I'm almost certain they are fairly fond of me too ;)
However the story is genuinely true!
Well, that killed some time. Now it's off to find another distraction... to fanficton!
