After a bizarrely warm November, it's starting to get pretty cold indeed around these parts. Christmas decorations are everywhere. Shopping queues are getting longer. This morning I heard "Merry Christmas (The War is Over)" on the radio- the first Christmas song I've heard in 2011. And a few days ago I posted a TON of cards and letters to readers who had written to me- so it is OFFICIALLY close to Christmas. I can now safely announce it.
You may rejoice.
And the competition winners may ALSO rejoice, because the books I have to sign have finally arrived. I'll sign them all this weekend, have them ready to be picked up on Monday or Tuesday, and then hopefully you'll be getting your prizes over the next few weeks. It'd be cool if you could get them BEFORE Christmas, so that's what we're working towards.
There's still a lot of work going on in my house. I'm getting one of the rooms refurbished- COMPLETELY redesigning it- as well as the kitchen redone, and that's been going on since the start of October. Basically, it means a lot of noise and hassle and interruptions, so I haven't been able to focus on Book Seven, which I really would have liked to have started by now. But hey, I'm not worried. My house is going to RULE when it's all finished, because finally I'll have a proper place to store my toys.
A lot of you may not know this, but I love toys. I collect movie memorabilia and props and stuff, and also comic-book statues. To give you an idea of the kind of things I'm talking about, here are a few action figures...

Oh, and here's a 12 inch figure of Sweeny Todd about to give a 12 inch Ichabod Crane a very close shave...
Boy oh boy do I love toys...
As you can imagine, my place is full of equipment boxes right now, so I'm going to leave you with a picture of one of my cats- Pooper- doing what cats love best: clambering into cardboard boxes for no apparent reason.

and to get the fish, and change the comment thing, you go to your blog, and click the bit at the top that says 'Design'.
YOu should have a layout-thingy, and there should be some places around it that say 'Add a gadget'.
Click on one of them, and click the bit that says 'most popular' on the side. Somewhere in that list is the fish, click that, and it should be pretty straightforward form there on.

And to change the comment thing, while still on the 'Edit layout' Thing, there should be a section that says 'Blog post' At the bottom of that section, it should say 'Edit'.
Click that, and somewhere on the list of choices there should be one saying 'comments' and you can change what it says.

okay, do you want to talk about it/what can I do? I'm sorry if I'm reacting kind of strongly to this...but yeah, quite personal to me and I just really, really want to help anyone dealing with this ever.
I don't know. I'm just trying not to break down right here. I can't cry, I don't want my family to know. I don't really want them to worry, or start asking me about it.
I've just felt really... depressed. Bleak. About everything. The new step-family. School. Friends. Looks. Stopped eating lunch. Don't say much in class. Try not to show how much hurts. Hide behind a hoodie. Do my best to act like nothing's wrong at home.
I'm not sure. I just feel like I need to tell someone. It's been like this for at least 2 months now. Having my health class go over Suicide and Eating Disorders doesn't help much either.
ERG! I'm dying on the inside! I haven't written anything concerning my stories for nearly a month! Dear Lord, someone help me!

But you're telling us, at least a little bit, and I think that's the first step. And I know I can't do anything about the depression and eating stuff besides talking to you, because I'm not in your non-internet life. Earlier, I was at school, reading Dark Days for I think the eighth time, and kept giggling, so people kept looking at me weird. So then I turned around to the girl sitting behind me and said, "Don't you think this is funny too? Here's what it says, 'Do you want me to break your arm, you little brat? Do you want me to break your ribs? Puncture a lung? Because I can do it. I can do anything I want and no one will question me. So go ahead. Lie there and threaten me some more. See where it gets you.'" And the girl I read it to gave me a crazy look. And then I realised that was being said to Valkyrie, the character I claim to be, and I thought about it for a moment, and then continued to laugh at it.
