Just got in from training...
Every muscle aches... I may have a black eye in the morning... I desperately want to take a shower and feel normal again...
But before that, my Minions, I have decided to let you know what's been happening in the Wonderful World of the Me. On the desk before me is my editor and agent's notes on Death Bringer, which I have been reading and thinking about and then applying these changes to the manuscript. I just got off the phone to Laura, and she assures me she'll have her notes by Friday at the latest.
Which means that this latest edit of Book 6 will be sent back to my editor on Tuesday, and then we'll go through it once more quickly, and then the long process of printing can begin. (And yes, I have not forgotten my plan to let you read a sample chapter before it's published!)
In other news...
I was in London on Monday morning, meeting with Big American Studio People about possibly making the Skulduggery movie. They were hugely interesting, and very enthusiastic, and they were putting forward their view on why they'd be the best people to make the film. It's early stages yet, and I made it absolutely clear that I won't be making a decision for another few months, but it was a wonderful first meeting. Next week I'm heading over again to meet with another set of Movie People, with the same understanding that I'm not about to sign away the movie rights until I've considered every angle.
But still, it's so much fun being back in Movie Mode.
Of course, it means a lot more work for me. I thought the second half of this year would be calm, allowing me to write something non-Skulduggery. But apparently, that's not going to happen. In fact, the rest of this year is going to be jam-packed FULL of Skulduggery stuff. It's a good thing I love my job, I swear to God...
I go now. My shower calls to me. My shower is weird.

Pyro!!
~glomps~
Good to see you :]
What's up?
ohmigod Derek!!!! A MOVIE?!?!?!
U HAVE TO BLOG MORE!!!!!!
Hi Skyril!!!¡¡¡!!!
Not much, school and exams and stuff. And some clouds.
Skyril, my body hasn't recognized meat as food for a very long time. It's just gross now. But you go ahead.
I think a world ruled by you could be neat, Kal! Probably better than what we have.
Yay! Clouds! I like clouds ;}
Hi Pyro!
I don't think I understand what you mean by them not trusting you. Trust you to what, I wonder?
Hi Kallista!!!¡¡¡!!!
I've finally gotten round to building a library with all the best books and a special section just for Skulduggery Pleasant!
:D
I don't know how you do it! I don't think I could possibly survive without meat... it's sooooo goooooood..... Like roast beef! Or pulled pork! Or fried chicken! Or hamburgers! Yummmmmmmm!
Hi Ann!!!¡¡¡!!!
Well... like, trust me to.... be good. Sort of... sort of like trust me to hang out with the right crowd. I guess they don't trust me to pick the right friends or something, and with a phone I'd talk to not so great people a lot and would, I don't know, pick up bad language or something. ~shrugs yet again~ I don't exactly get it.
LOL, Kallista! Woooot! We should elect you to be president! Oh wait... you have to be 35, don't you? Hmmm....
Hey, Pyro, would you read and comment on my new poem, if you can? :]
~smiles hopefully~
http://loonyskyril.blogspot.com/2011/06/fireflies_09.html#comments
I could live without meat but I could never live without milk because no milk means no ice cream.
Also scientists have apparently proven that veggietables feel pain and have emotions so being a vegetarian is rather cruel to plants.
I wanted to go veggie for years, and my dad wouldn't let me! Seriously, it's not hard. Dead flesh gets near my face and I start gagging. Fake meat is ok, though.
Ee fake meat makes me gag... :P
I guess, if I was FORCED to live without meat.. I'd survive, but would greatly miss it. There's this guy that works at the same job my dad does and he has literally NEVER had meat of any kind. Not even fish. So he hasn't a clue what it taste like! lol someone made a joke one time and said, "Hey, people that eat meat say, 'Tastes like chicken!' what do you say? 'Taste like salad?'"
LOL It was just friendly joking, you know, but it was really funny. :]
Not as cruel as being a carnivore, though, since it takes a lot more plants to raise meat.
Haunted by Disturbed (cause im bored again, you surprised yet?)
You're broken, so am i. Im better off alone, no one to turn to, and nothing to call my own. Outspoken, so am i. Explosive words that, your world wouldn't understand. Turn away agin. You're beaten, so am i. I've gotta heart of stone. No medication can cure what has taken hold. You're hurting, so am i, when i awaken, remember why i've been running from your world. Dishonored by your world, your world. Im Haunted by your world. My blood is cold as ice, or so i have been told. Show no emotion, and it can destroy your soul. Another scarifice to a tormentor, your world wouldn't understand, turn away again. Your angered, so am i. A thousand fires burn. A land of darkness from which I cannot return. You're aching, so am i. When I awaken, discover ive been damaged by your world. Dishonored by your world, your world. Im haunted by your world. (remember and you might be welcomed, amongst the heartless monsters you surround yourself with feeding off the pain and misfortune of others, a maniacal unit of sub-human parasites, warped into a feeding frenzy at the smell of fresh blood, open your eyes and see the creatures for who they are, a swirling mess of hatred, and envy, dont be naive enough to think your unaffected, the conversion has already begun). You're frightened, so am i. A world of demons wait, watching the movements and filling my heart with hate. You're burning so am i. When i awaken, discover how i've been ravaged by your world. Dishonored by your world, your world. Im haunted by your world.
(sounds cooler with the music behind it, though, lol)
lol I don't believe in that "vegetables feeling pain" anyway. It just sounds silly! :P Plants don't have sensory nerves! :P
A skulduggery pleasant movie Derek?
That's great!
I'll be expecting one in the years to come...It'll crush those lousy vampires out of the spotlight!
LOL, Kallista!
~falls out of chair laughing~
You are so awesome! :D
...lots and...lots of comments...
lol, Eucliwood! He reads them all 'cause he's just that awesome :D
Huh. Well, it's hard to meet new people on a phone.
You know what's scary? Public transportation. I'd be afraid to put my kids on that without me. I tried explaining to my mom all the scary things that happened to me on busses and at bus stops etc, and she was like, "what do you think it was like on the NY subway?" And yeah, I'm sure that sucked even more, and she lived through it. But that doesn't mean it's _good_ to subject my kids to that.
That was a tangent, wasn't it?
*walks in*
Y'know....eating pizza at 9:20 p.m. isn't so bad. Quite good, actually.
...he's...
...dedicated. very, very dedicated.
(I'm currently messing around with blogger...)
He's very very awesome :D
And it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Yuu! :]
DEREK! KALLISTA SHOULD BE CHINA IN YOUR MOVIE!
Beautiful, charming... I'm sure she could act cold and manipulative with enough training. Or maybe she'd need a stunt double for that.
I agree, Ann!
Thalia!
~glomps~
Good to see you again :]
Hi again Skyril!
*hugs*
Nice to meet your acquaintance too, Skyril!
(My god...so, so many comments...!)
LOL, Ann!!
~agrees again~
:D
Pleasure to meet you, Yuu!
LOL, Yuu! Before he posts again there will likely be 5000 comments! ^.^
what are you doing with the '*'...?
Is it like...this...
*presses the button*
*keyboard explodes for some reason*
*coughs*
Well I think it works. Is it supposed to explode like that?
I've been on public transport. It's not too bad, except when I tried to take the bus to school and I went about 10 stops too far and had to walk for almost an hour not knowing where I was.
And the thing about vegetables feeling pain is sceintifically proven, not just a crazy idea.
He's quite used to our crazy, random, comments of miscellaneous-ness and chatter. :]
Hello, Thalia!
*eye widen*
*keyboard sparks*
so many...PEOPLE, too...
i hope he posts again before 5000
Hi Kallista, Pyro, Ann!
*hugs*
Woot! This page is dedicated to Ann, Kallista, Skyril, Yuu, and Pyro!
...5000?!
Hi Kallista!
(so many people...!)
LOL Yuu... umm... yesss.... let's just say it's supposed to do that :P
And we use them to show action. Like if I want to wave to you, I go *waves*
Or something like that. Well, I don't but everyone else does. I use the wavy lines instead ^.^ Like this
~waves~
@Pyro
I still don't believe it and think it's just silly. At one time Indigo was part of the rainbow and Pluto was a planet! Now they think veggies can feel pain xD
@Kallista
LOL Yes, we ARE quite dedicated, aren't we? :]
Yay! Thanks, Thalia! :D
...it really is, Kallista.
*mind boggles*
LOL, Yuu! There are LOADS of people, although, it's often just two or three at a time :]
Hi Yuu and Raven and Thalia!!!¡¡¡!!!
... Hm... The movie.
Are there any black characters at all? I could be... Flaring. Or a zombie... Or... The Administrator? Yeah, that's... That's pretty much it.
...but there are six on right now...wait, seven including me.
Hi Ev!!!¡¡¡!!!
@Skyril, since when was indigo not part of the rainbow?
Hi Ev!
*hugs*
Pyro, you're a boy. I know boys are preyed on sometimes, but I'm pretty sure not with the frequency girls are. And I doubt you've spent as much time on busses as I have. We lived without a car for many years.
Ev!
~glomps~
Greetings and salutations! :]
Greetings and salutations to all of you!
I'm good to... Whoever asked. Too lazy to look. I have to go to bed in a bit, maybe I can prolong my stay if I bribe my mum with a footrub!
*waves*
Hello, Everisse! I'm new. Well, that's not my NAME, my name that I have chosen is weird. In my opinion. So call me...New. Yeah, actually, call me New.
@Ann
I think it might also be a different atmosphere for you in USA than for me in UK because even if someone else was a victim of something then I'd still feel freaked out etc.
Uh, Yuu is good, right? Nice to meetcha!
*shakes hand*
...actually...
I'm not sure, Pyro, but at some point they pointed out they were wrong and was like "Oh... wait.... we were wrong! Indigo is NOT in the rainbow!"
LOL Not really, but they did declare that indigo wasn't in it. Now that I think about it, though, they may have switched back again at some point and said indigo really WAS part of the rainbow....
yes!
I just changed my name to that!
The only obvious black character I can think of was male, and only appeared on the phone, so.
I think the characters that aren't described with as much detail are open to some interpretation, though. And some could be changed - if I wanted a part in the movie, the one I'd be most suited for is Kenspeckle, and he's a man. But his sex isn't integral to his character or the plot.
LOL Yuu!!!¡¡¡!!!
I LIKE my name now.
:)
Now I just need a Air Corgi, to ride away on the wind.
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...
lol yes, Ev, you should do that :P
anyone on?
LOL New Yuu! Okie-dokie then! :D
Yeah, but I wouldn't be happy if they changed Kenspeckle to a woman.
I resemble sort of Skul and Val and Clarabelle rolled into one, with the big words and the bluntness and the random oddness..
I COULD BE CLARABELLE!!!
When I was young, it was red-orange-yellow-green-blue-purple. Lately I see red-orange-yellow-green-blue-indigo-violet. I don't understand why.
*nods*
Ha ha.
Can't you imagine me as Clarabelle? Come on, you know you can.
Hey, Ann, I don't know if you know the secret, but it's easy to remember the color of rainbow as Roy G. Biv :P
Roy G. Biv, Ann! Roy G. Biv.
Well they once decided that bees couldn't fly so I'm thinking that the reason for all this change is due to scientific advancement: studying the solar system has become easier so the studies have shown that Pluto is too small to be a planet etc.
lol Sure I can, Ev! ~imagines it~
Dangit Skyril, you stole my comment!
Baaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I have to go now.
I'll try to sneak on tomorrow after I escape from the doctor's office.
Bye all!
*hugs everyone*
*dashes off*
Yay, Kallista and Skyril agree with me!
Bye Thalia!
Yeah, probably, Pyro, but I grew up calling Pluto a planet and I grew up knowing Roy G. Biv, and scientists are constantly changing their minds so I think I'll stick with what I was told by my parents and brothers :]
They'll probably change their minds in a couple years anyway :P
Scientists are funny people.
well, I must go now.
Hope I can make it back to this strange domain some other time...and get my air corgi...
Purple. Indigo is just blue-violet!
Aww farewell, Thalia! ~waves madly~
Farewell!!
~waves madly~ Nice meeting you, New Yuu!
Hehe that was fun to say ;-}
Bye Thalia!!!¡¡¡!!!
And I remember the rainbow as Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain
And there are 9 colours of light
Bye Thalia! Bye Yuu!
I didn't even know Thalia was on. :-(
It's funny Skyril, as soon as I read your comment about scientists, the song on my iPod changed, and The Scientist by Coldplay played.
Spooky? Nah, not really.
Oh? That's interesting, Pyro! I guess they teach it differently in England! :D
@Pyro
I learned that from Artemis Fowl... :)
hey everyone
Nah that's just awesome-sauce-ly perfect, Ev!
Hello, Raven!
~waves madly~
Nice to meetcha, Raven!
Bye Yuu!!!¡¡¡!!!
And I also grew up with Pluto as a planet and the rainbow has not been changed over here and bees can fly and vegetables, to give one example, flinch when they are stabbed.
Ev, yes, I'll vote for you as Clarabelle.
I have to go. Was hoping Anndrew would stop by the pharmacy for me on the way home from karate, but he didn't answer his phone and now they're home. I need to make it there before closing.
Be back later!
Aw farewell, Ann!
~waves madly some more~
No one ever said it would be so hard
Oh, take me back to the start
I LOVE that song!
New Top Five
Resistance by Muse
The Scientist by Coldplay
Broken by Seether
Waiting for the End by Linkin Park
Monsoon by Tokio Hotel
Bye Ann!!!¡¡¡!!!
@Ev
You mean the bomb that went off when the trigger words were spoken?
Bye Ann!
nice to meet you to, everisse
@Pyro
Yuh-huh! I love those books, and it's been like a year since I read the Eternity Code and I can't believe I remember that. I can't believe I remember what book that was in.
Oh really, Pyro...
~mischievous glint~
I've never noticed that little flinching of a veggie!
~picks up a stalk of celery~
I'll have to check that out!
~picks up a knife and stabs the celery~
~... nothing happens....~
~stabs it again~
~still just sits there~
~slices a piece~
~nada~
~cut it in half~
~nothing~
Hmmm... I'm get this strange psychic vibe that the scientists are incorrect on this one, Pyro :P
I haven't read the Atlantis Complex yet, I really want to though.
I'm thinking that since veggies are, you know, inanimate objects, they wouldn't flinch at... Anything, really.
I got it almost as soon as it came out, I have all of them except book two, which I've read.
I tried reading the Artemis Fowl books once, but it never really grabbed me. There was this other trilogy too... I can't remember it's name, but it's really popular and I never really liked it. I guess it depends on some books if I'll like it or not,
lol Yeah, Ev, I agree :P
I like a ton of other fiction series. I don't really know why I didn't like those much.
@Skyril
The Hunger Games?
Oh God, for those of you who've read them, we did poems based off wordsin English, and my friend did The Capitol, and this was her poem.
The Capitol kills people
They are a government which kills people
Their president kills people
They have games... Which kill people
They have funny accents
And they kill people
They have districts, and they kill people
The Capitol kills people
We were laughing so hard, and people thought we were nuts.
Skyril, we're talking on an incredibly small scale here. If we are going only on the basis of what can be seen with the naked eye then there is no such thing as atoms or dark/anti matter or bacteria etc. etc. etc.
A few examples in no order
Eragon
Traces
Hunger Games
Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Ranger's Apprentice
Bloody Jack
Thr3e [Although that's just one book...]
And really, the list goes on.
Yes, I know, Pyro, and, of course, believe on things you can't see, but vegetables feeling pain? No, I don't believe it.
....
I'm still here! Anndrew made smoothies. I hope the pharmacy is open until 9.
I wasn't crazy about the last AF book. Seems like Colfer is getting tired of them, maybe?
I sorta skimmed the first time, I sometimes really can't stand B-Stories and skip to the A-story parts, but I always go back and read the whole thing.
Don't be alarmed if I disappear, iPod dying.
Ev, that's... that's interesting.
I have got to read the ranger's apprentice sometime.
And vegetables are not inanimate objects, if they were then they wouldn't grow or create food from sunlight or flower or move towards the sun etc.
Yay, Ann!
And smoooooothiiiiieeees ooooo! I like smoothies :]
And, true, they're not inanimate objects, but still.
Yeah, you should, Pyro! I like the series pretty much :]
And now I'm trying to remember what Effie says in The Hunger Games...
Plants do respond to stimuli. I wouldn't be all that surprised if they were capable on some level of recognizing some stimuli as being bad for them - that's pretty much what pain is, it tells you some damage is occurring.
LOL, Kallista! :P
And I lock all doors and windows when alone too!
Saying that plants don't feel pain would be like saying that they don't react to sunlight.
She says lots of things. Most of them ridiculous.
"May the odds be ever in your favour!"
That's it!
But I'm pretty sure she says it without the u. ;-)
@Pyro
I wouldn't say that. Plants reacting to sunlight is a scientifically proven, universally accepted fact. Planta reacting to pain? Still being debated. Not that it's impossible, of course.
I guess I could understand if they recognized something being bad for them, but I don't believe that they feel. Period. And I'm really not trying to get into an argument, by the way. I'm just saying. :]
We lost the house key before we were even all moved in. Um.
But we have dogs, and we live up a dirt road that would be scary to strangers cause a lot of the locals have firearms and don't like intruders. :-D
After all, feeling the sensation of pain does involve having a nervous system.
@Ann
Oh, haha. Laugh at me for having deleted my US English keyboard.
@Ann
Right. Nothing says "keep out" quite like neighbours with guns.
@Ev,
Happy to! *laughs*
But plants feeling pain is also scientifically proven, it's just too insignificant to be in the news which is why no one knows about it. The fact that a massive amount of the water on Earth comes from meteors is also a little known fact but still just as true.
No, Effie! But if you want me to tell you you say lots of ridiculous things, I can...
-smacks Ann with a fish-
Fish: Hey, why'd you use my to smack this woman?
Me: Cause she's annoying me with her cruelly sardonic laughter!
Fish: ... Fair enough.
...Hello?
@Pyro
I'm not trying to pick a fight or anything, it just doesnt make sense to me that plants could feel pain.
...ew. Now I smell all fishy.
What's that I hear? Could it be... my shower, calling to me?
And how does everyone know that plants don't have nervous systems?
Flytraps certainly do.
i love the Ranger's Apprentice series
KALLISTA! xD
Hello! *hugs*
Leona!! yay!!
~glomps~
Good to see you! :D
And I have to go! Possibly see you all tomorrow!
-sings loudly as she skips away-
I'm 90% insane!
Hi Leona!
Bye Ev!
Hi Pyro, Mom and Everisse! :D *hugs*
Hi Leona!!!¡¡¡!!!
@Ev and Skyril
The only reason I argue so much is because me and one of my friends quite literally always disagree with each other and have debates nearly every lesson at school
Aw farewell, Ev! ~waves madly~
And Skyril! Hi!
Bye Ev!
And check out...
thinksthatithink.blogspot.com
theawesomesauceidea.blogspot.com
everisse-eterna.blogspot.com
If you haven't already! I just posted on the first!
By Ev!!!¡¡¡!!!
And also I haven't had anything to debate about since we discussed Oliver Cromwell in history
*Bye
Pyro, you'd like my dad. He debates everything. Then when he's finally convinced someone - he switches sides. XD It's really aggravating.
Lol :)
LOL, Ann!!
Shoots flame at the cop car when it gets to close
lol
LOL Ann!
Ok, seriously have to run now. Bye all!
bye ann
Aww Farewell to you, Ann!!
~waves madly some more~
Bye Ann!!!¡¡¡!!!
Mom, where are you going? :/
Yay!!!
*drinks coke*
does that still count? going through a drive through on foot?
Okay, just popped back in to say... These are the good comments!
Any first comment, or multiple of 1000
1337 (the leet comment, I'm a nerd)
1999 (party like it's 1999)

Jumps on a desolation engine
*liquid turns red*
Gulp
EVERYBODY RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!¡!!!!!¡¡¡¡!!¡¡!!!!!¡!!¡¡!!!¡¡¡¡¡!
Nooooooooooo!¡! *runs*
Wait why are we running?
AHHHHHHH!!!
~runs for my life, after snatching Pyro's hand to run too~
Did you know that technically there is a monkey somewhere typing the complete works of Shakespear on a typewriter?
Because we don't wanna be disintegrated, Leona!
Ummm... no.... I don't think there is, actually, Pyro, but I have to leave now :/
Farewell!
~hugs friends~
~waves madly~
Bye!!
*gets dragged along by Skyril, then jumps up and blasts forward using burst of fire, making sure not to burn anyone*
Oh, that's why...
AHHHH!!!
Pokemon, go! *Charizard rescues me* :D Yay!
... that might give you a case of indigestion, kallista
Byeee Skyril!!
Bye Skyril!!!¡¡¡!!!
And technically if there are infinite universes then one must have infinite monkeys typing randomly so because there are infinite possibilities, one must happen so there IS a monkey typing Shakespeare somewhere.
...What?
We're studying the nature of infinity in maths…
Okay
Please don't do that Kallista-Ghost.
:D
*puts ghost vacuum thingy on Pyros head*
Who you gonna call?
:)
The birds are awake
Uh, Luigi?
Yes you can haunt the castle
:)
*sigh*
G2G now.Bye all!!!¡¡¡!!!
