Just got in from training...
Every muscle aches... I may have a black eye in the morning... I desperately want to take a shower and feel normal again...
But before that, my Minions, I have decided to let you know what's been happening in the Wonderful World of the Me. On the desk before me is my editor and agent's notes on Death Bringer, which I have been reading and thinking about and then applying these changes to the manuscript. I just got off the phone to Laura, and she assures me she'll have her notes by Friday at the latest.
Which means that this latest edit of Book 6 will be sent back to my editor on Tuesday, and then we'll go through it once more quickly, and then the long process of printing can begin. (And yes, I have not forgotten my plan to let you read a sample chapter before it's published!)
In other news...
I was in London on Monday morning, meeting with Big American Studio People about possibly making the Skulduggery movie. They were hugely interesting, and very enthusiastic, and they were putting forward their view on why they'd be the best people to make the film. It's early stages yet, and I made it absolutely clear that I won't be making a decision for another few months, but it was a wonderful first meeting. Next week I'm heading over again to meet with another set of Movie People, with the same understanding that I'm not about to sign away the movie rights until I've considered every angle.
But still, it's so much fun being back in Movie Mode.
Of course, it means a lot more work for me. I thought the second half of this year would be calm, allowing me to write something non-Skulduggery. But apparently, that's not going to happen. In fact, the rest of this year is going to be jam-packed FULL of Skulduggery stuff. It's a good thing I love my job, I swear to God...
I go now. My shower calls to me. My shower is weird.

I almost decided not to address you that way, because it might sound a little sarcastic, like I don't really respect you. I assure you, I do respect you! I may laugh sometimes (with! with, not at!), but I still respect you.
Here are my questions which you have thus far neglected to answer. An honest oversight on your part, I'm certain.
1. Seriously, surfing in the Irish Sea? I want to know.
2. Sooooooo, WHAT DID LAURA THINK? Fine, I realize you're waiting to hear back from her, but I expect a synopsis of her report to be posted here no later than Saturday morning, my time. If she, and therefore you, fail to provide, tell her your minions are on the verge of rebelling, and have threatened to tie you up and tickle you to the very brink of death. ...Not that she'll necessarily be disturbed by that. *wonders*
3. I guess I'll just have to wait and see about Scapegrace. I do see animated skeletonness in his future, though, so I hope you have a plan to deal with that.
4. When did Skulduggery have his house remodeled to include plumbing? And what did he say to the contractors when they asked why there was none to start with?
5. Does Mr. Percival use Laura, or pictures of her, as a reference when drawing Valkyrie?
6. I love the SP logo. Who made that? And where can I find merchandise with it? I know some people have made stuff, and I could, but it would take more time and money than just buying it. And I'd rather throw money at some deserving artist than throw even more money at the local craft chain for the privilege of never getting around to making anything.

9. You strike me as pretty introverted. Are you? And if so, how do you cope with, you know... fans? Being all over you? Being famous would put me in an asylum. It looks very draining. 10. How is work on the SKULDUGGERY PLEASANT MUSICAL going? OK, I read elsewhere that you were encouraging fans to make a musical. So I guess it's up to us. Minions, who's with me on this?
11. Your lack of a denial speaks volumes. VOLUMES. Volumes of what, I couldn't tell you. A denial would have said about the same thing, though.

Oooh, I'm excited by the possible movie options! Even if it wouldn't be quite as awesome as the books (just because, well, movies based on books practically never are), I'd absolutely LOVE to see everything - and Skulduggery! - on the screen.
Although I might drool a little if I actually saw a walking, talking, sexy Skulduggery on the screen. And that might make people wonder.
But anyway, yeah - I'm looking forward to seeing how these developments turn out. (And needless to say, I'm looking forward to Death Bringer, and the preview to Death Bringer!)

Oh. So not really any stranger that you're up than that I am... though I haven't met a lot of even hsing parents with schedules quite as odd as ours.
When I think I'm going to be back so fast I don't need to even say brb, I should just go ahead and say it anyway. Went to take care of horses and baby goat, and they were kind of freaked about something. Dog chased it off, whatever it was. For his reward, he gets to stay out all night and guard.
Feel kind of sorry for him.
do you think it was a fox or somehthing?
Doubt it, but might have been. If it was, the goats were overreacting. Probably a coyote, outside possibility mountain lion, though I think the horses would have said something about that.
