Just got in from training...
Every muscle aches... I may have a black eye in the morning... I desperately want to take a shower and feel normal again...
But before that, my Minions, I have decided to let you know what's been happening in the Wonderful World of the Me. On the desk before me is my editor and agent's notes on Death Bringer, which I have been reading and thinking about and then applying these changes to the manuscript. I just got off the phone to Laura, and she assures me she'll have her notes by Friday at the latest.
Which means that this latest edit of Book 6 will be sent back to my editor on Tuesday, and then we'll go through it once more quickly, and then the long process of printing can begin. (And yes, I have not forgotten my plan to let you read a sample chapter before it's published!)
In other news...
I was in London on Monday morning, meeting with Big American Studio People about possibly making the Skulduggery movie. They were hugely interesting, and very enthusiastic, and they were putting forward their view on why they'd be the best people to make the film. It's early stages yet, and I made it absolutely clear that I won't be making a decision for another few months, but it was a wonderful first meeting. Next week I'm heading over again to meet with another set of Movie People, with the same understanding that I'm not about to sign away the movie rights until I've considered every angle.
But still, it's so much fun being back in Movie Mode.
Of course, it means a lot more work for me. I thought the second half of this year would be calm, allowing me to write something non-Skulduggery. But apparently, that's not going to happen. In fact, the rest of this year is going to be jam-packed FULL of Skulduggery stuff. It's a good thing I love my job, I swear to God...
I go now. My shower calls to me. My shower is weird.

Eragon, Hunger Games, and Bloody Jack adventures are in the top close to Skulduggery Pleasant. But there are so many more I love xP
i havent read any of those, lol. i like Rangers Apprentice, Pendragon, The Balgariad, and Dragon Codex, just a few of the other ones i like, lol
I love Ranger's Apprentice too! I haven't read the others, but have seen Pendragon and thought of reading it before!
its a good series, its in the form of a journal for most of it, i think its a good book

It's mostly about Will and his mentor, Halt, though
Okay, here's one of my first OC, Blood Butterflies:
Butterflies woke with a jolt to her head. All she could think of was Danger. She plunged her hand into her pocket, smoothly slipping on the delicate black chain.
"WAKE UP!" her father roared. Butterflies took deep breaths to keep her temper and tears suppressed. Despite that, the tears still flowed down her face.
"What.. did I... do this time?" she asked in between shaky breaths. She suspected he was already drunk and intoxicated with drugs, but she still asked. It was a routine already.
Her father's face went blank a moment. "You...I...You..." he stuttered. Then the rage returned. "Doesn't matter!" he yelled, lobbing another shard of something at her. It struck her before she had time to react and blood trickled down the left side of her face.
Despite everything, she laughed.
"Oh, dad, oh, dad. You've done more hurt to me than Billy-Ray Sanguine ever did."
"Who?"
Butterflies swung her feet of her bed and went to her cupboard -- she started packing. "Did you ever love me?"
Her father sobered. "When you were born."
"What happened?" she asked and her father remained silent. "Can't answer, now can you?"

Her parents are abusive and take drugs... therefore. Also, she was about six at the time.
Another excerpt:
"Go," Quiver said, unfeeling. "You are dismissed."
Butterflies bowed to him formally and exited, her Necromancer robes trailing after her. She struggled not to get lost on the first day of her training. It would be rather embarrassing.
"Um."
She felt someone tap her shoulder and turned warily. She saw a girl about her age, trying to smile. Her eyes turned rapidly from grey to hot pink when she realised someone was paying attention to her.
"Um," the girl repeated, "do you know where the exit is?"
Butterflies shook her head. "No."
The girl grinned. "Neither do I." She stuck out her hand. "Name's Olivia, Olivia Storm. What's yours?"
Butterflies slapped the hand with her palm, and hit it again with the back of her hand. "Name's Butterflies, Blood Butterflies. Pleased to meet you."
