In the new Darren Shan book (Oceans of Blood) Larten Crepsley (the main character) goes to see a witch called Evanna. She has some servants, one a young girl (Malora), and after Larten leaves, she follows him. Malora becomes his assistant until she's 16, when Larten is hit by Vampire Flu and is kinda weird and wants to go to sea on a boat. Malora says that she loves Larten and wants to be with him for the rest of her life. She tries to stop him from going to a ship, and to sea. But fails. Larten manages to get some pirates to let them sail with them, who find out he is a vampire and try to kill him. But Malora tries to stop them all single handedly, because she loves Larten, and gets killed, then hanged up on the ship. It's sooo sad. REALLY SAD. It's made me feel depressed... *mumbles*
Well, you never knew him, so it's probably not particularly sad for you. But my grandpas were cool people, and I'm glad I knew them, so I'm sad for you even if you aren't.
In the mediaval time they thought making someone bleed would cure illnesses... so they had a lot of human blood... so they used it for recipes or to fertilize their fields...
