First of all, most of you have been very good about posting no spoilers in the comments section, so thank you for that. But a few of you have let some things slip, which is bad. BAD MINIONS!
Ahem.
Got the German schedule. It’s only two days, I’m afraid- not the week or two that I usually spend travelling around. The Australia/NZ tour and then the UK/Ireland tour at the start of the year meant a LOT of time away from home, so I told them I wanted everything condensed for this one. Astonishingly, they listened... probably because they realize I’ll have to start the new Skulduggery book before Christmas, and they want to keep me happy.
But I am NEVER happy.

Jammed in between these three events are the usual amount of travel time and media stuff, but as usual I just list the events that the public can pop along to.
With all of the signings, of course, in Germany, the UK and Ireland, I am happy to sign whatever you bring with you- time permitting. Obviously if the queue is insanely long and we have to run off to the next event, I won’t have the chance to do so, so we’ll tell everyone that I’ll only be able to sign one or two things. But usually there’s enough time for me to sign everything.
Oooh, and a few of you have seen the new design for the Dark Days paperback. The whole idea behind this new design is basically to have fun with the covers. The hardbacks will continue on as before, but the paperbacks will have a brand new image, every time, featuring Skulduggery in a cool pose. We figure most of you will be buying the hardbacks- or trade paperbacks, which are hardback sized but with the softer covers- and so you can keep that consistent cover design for your collection. But when the smaller paperbacks come out and replace the hardbacks on the shelves, we wanted a new approach to entice the readers who have never picked up a Skulduggery book.

By the way, for those of you who miss Valkyrie’s presence on the covers, I completely agree with you. I miss her too. Which is why Mr Tom Percival is working on a series of cool Valkyrie images for the backs of the books. I can’t wait for these, because we’ll really be able to see how much she grows up and changes in Tom’s artwork. And I'll also be able to get a few framed. Yay!
Alright then, I will blog once more before I head off on tour, and then I’ll do my best to blog again once I’m actually ON tour.

Dear Derek,
I know you make an effort to read all of your comments, (though I can understand you being daunted at this posts' number- I mean /really/) so when I decided to write a review of Mortal Coil (NO SPOILERS) I thought that, better than inappropriately posting a book review on an unrelated blog, I'd post it here.
First off, I'd like to offer thanks(sarcastically; though not too much venom here) to whoever it was responsible for the 'participating stores' idea- they managed to get many Participating stores in Cornwall, a notoriously under-represented county. However, ALL of these stores were concentrated in such a way that there was no way in heck for me to get a special book.
Luckily, I found a 'local' participating book-store that seemed to be ahead of its rivals in the Ways of The Internets that possessed a websop. So, I'm not /too/ angry. For now. ;)
Secondly, I'd like to (non-sarcasticly) talk about the free watch. It's awesome! Forgive me for getting excited about a free gift, but it glows in the dark. I mean, come on. I hope that you, mister big-shot writer, managed to nab one for yourself.
Thirdly, the book. The book (though not the content yet, I fear). Ever since receiving MC in the post, I have been loudly and enthusiastically informing everyone I meet that my ambition is to /be/ Tom Percival when I grow up (I'm not sure how this will be achieved, but I'll work out a way). Cooing at the morbid and graphic... Graphics, stroking the spine and stirring up my highly-strung, gory-artist friend (She'd get along with Doctor *y*).
As for the content itself... I confess, I read the first chapter (and some Wikipedia spoilers) ahead of time, as I succumbed. Just like last time, in fact. And just like that, I was unimpressed (courtesy of Wikipedia; surely I've learnt my lesson? I think not) until I received the book, that is.
Every twist left me speechless for a moment, and I've spent today alternatively whooping with laughter, crying out "Why?", bemoaning various characters, slamming down the book (Sorry!) among other reactions. As always, the rendering of the characters made my day, and- in what is fast-becoming my SP tradition- I've saved some of my favourite bits by dog-earing the pages (Sorry again! But I hope you're comforted by the fact that this is the only series I do this to).
All I'd like to say is- well done, yet again. Seriously, /well done/. The last page made me do my 'I'm a teen girl but I'll imagine I'm John Green for a moment and do a happy dance' dance.
And my favourite pages were the best bit. The imagery still hasn't left me.
All that's left for me to do is quietly get on with my life, and wait for the next, even more thrilling ( I hope) instalment.
P.S- Although if you dare wait until September again, I will actually not read it. Autumn 2011 is reserved for /Sherlock/, damnit.
P.P.S Oh, and since I know such a long post has got your attention- what is your opinion on the Beeb's Sherlock? Have you seen it? Please tell us in the next post. 'Cus, you're one of the only YA writers I respect the opinion of, and I LOVE it. I think it does the original canon almost total justice.

The whole day way really boring and practicly fell aslepp in R.S. we were just sat there for 10 minutes whilst she told us all about her expectations and how because we were top set she expects good things from us and to use detail and examples and to to explain clearly and I fell asleep .. simple as ..
luckily I was at the back so she didn't really notice my 5 minuite snooze ... see I was woke up by the bell .. and so I walked out like a zombie ..
then we had lunch and I stole my best freind orange and we played piggie in the middle :] .. then the orange desided it couldn't take the torture and splatered all over poor ruth when I threw the orange slightly to hard :3
any way Drama was Great ... such fun :] buuuut we only got 35 mins of it untill the fire bell went off and we were stood on the feild for 25 minutes whilst the wind blew everyones hair higilty pigglty so that was a fun day! ..not

I just watch House at my friends house. AWESOME TV SHOW. My dad just told me I'm going to have to take piano seriously this year. I'm going for grade 6 and apparently it's really hard compared to grade 5. I don't even want to do piano that much but my dad won't let me quit until I do all 8 grades. Three more to go, yippy. (In case it wasn't obvious, that yippy was sarcastic).
yeah I did keyboard because piano was more expensive last year and just got really bored they were teaching me how to use to hands and get a background chord going and it was all stuff I knew so I quit this year
